One thing that i do is build a world and create characters with specific traits, cities and locations with different cultures with my imagination. Takes me just 10 - 15 mins to fall asleep and its fun! I look forward to doing it every night. I tried reading and while it initially helped me, in the laters years when i was really tired and jittery after a long day I wasn’t able to concentrate or grasp anything i read. I opted for this and its been the best every since!

I think that's a fab idea! You're telling yourself a bedtime story! Perhaps during the evening you can actually put ink to your imagination and write short stories? Narrate and tape them on your own YT channel to help others ... relax their thoughts and ease into sleep 😴....
I do all of this. I'll do a diamond painting, I'll make bath bombs or soap. Sometimes, I'll make resin pieces. Read. I'll get comfy and still not be able to sleep. It's basically when my body is so exhausted it can't handle anymore that I fall asleep. This has been worse the last 5 to 7 months. I can't pin point what triggered it. Usually I finally pass out about 5am. Meaning I'm sleeping until 10am sometimes 12. I'm always tired. Idk how much longer I can go on like this. I've had to rearrange my entire life around my odd sleep schedule. It's insane & I'm over it. The reason I do crafts is because I'll get anxious if I'm just sitting with my own thoughts. I have to keep my mind busy.

I recommend listening to ASMR. I personally find visual triggers deeply relaxing and I often fall asleep very quickly watching and listening to it. My personal favourite is Latte asmr ❤

chamomile tea with a little Honey. You have to stick with it for a few weeks to really see results. Also try slow release melatonin. 3milg to start with. Check with your doctor but dont give up and keep trying different things.
Some tips: strictly no phones in bed. If it helps, reading helps me sleep and i hope you give it a try , too. I have a book ive been reading for a year now cause i always fall asleep after a page or two lol

When I can’t fall asleep, I start reciting numbers in my head. The trick is to go at a quick pace so that thoughts won’t occur between numbers. It may also be necessary to visualize the numbers. I choose a fun font. The reason this works is it makes your brain become board. You start to fall asleep and will lose your place. Just pick back up someplace and keep going. I’ve never gotten to 1000, though I have given up a few times. This method works about 95% of the time. I’m usually out by 400, which takes about 5 minutes to get there. Instead of counting, you can also recite the alphabet or poetry, anything repetitive. If I have to give up, I will sometimes go eat something warm. It’s not good for my weight management, but warm food often makes us a little sleepy. Then go to bed and count again. Or count backwards. Overall, though, I don’t recommend getting out of bed because you’re losing out on potential sleep time.
Construction labor makes me tired after 7-8 hours. The desert here typically reaches normally over 108+-124 degrees. So I'll do excersize in my bedroom if Im desperate to sleep. I'll play "Holding Out For A Hero" and when I fall asleep it will be epic

Getting up, out of bed, into bright light just wrecks you more. Your mind will think it's time to "be up" and just make it harder in the long run. Js.

So basically get up over and over till dawn breaks and you need to go to work keeping composed and hoping you come off as normal. When in your mind and body aches to the point of wanting to die. Youfeel like you’re moving through quicksand mixed with molasses. You’re hyper alert needing to move function. You pray to live, but you want to die. You are surviving

This is what I do! It works for me because I figured my body knows when it's sleepy and would eventually fall asleep and guess what I did it was great!
What do you do if you wake up in the middle of the night, and then can't fall asleep again? Getting out of bed is not an option.

You are 100% correct. It's insanity to stare into the darkness if you're not sleepy. Get sleepy, then crawl into bed.
When I can’t fall asleep, I start reciting numbers in my head. The trick is to go at a quick pace so that thoughts won’t occur between numbers. It may also be necessary to visualize the numbers. I choose a fun font.
The reason this works is it makes your brain become board. You start to fall asleep and will lose your place. Just pick back up someplace and keep going.
I’ve never gotten to 1000, though I have given up a few times. This method works about 95% of the time. I’m usually out by 400, which takes about 5 minutes to get there. Instead of counting, you can also recite the alphabet or poetry, anything repetitive.
If I have to give up, I will sometimes go eat something warm. It’s not good for my weight management, but warm food often makes us a little sleepy. Then go to bed and count again. Or count backwards.
Overall, though, I don’t recommend getting out of bed because you’re losing out on potential sleep time.
Construction labor makes me tired after 7-8 hours. The desert here typically reaches normally over 108+-124 degrees.
So I'll do excersize in my bedroom if Im desperate to sleep.

15 minutes? I average falling asleep around 5 hours after “going to bed”. Man I haven’t fallen asleep within 15 minutes in like 6 years
