    As an insomniac I've tried so many ways to fall asleep...nothing really works. When I actually get sleepy, that's when the sun comes up.

    One thing that i do is build a world and create characters with specific traits, cities and locations with different cultures with my imagination. Takes me just 10 - 15 mins to fall asleep and its fun! I look forward to doing it every night. I tried reading and while it initially helped me, in the laters years when i was really tired and jittery after a long day I wasn’t able to concentrate or grasp anything i read. I opted for this and its been the best every since!

      I do something similar. You weave layers and layers of imagination which makes you lose yourself and before you know you are gone. Takes me about 5 mnts to fall asleep.

      I think that's a fab idea! You're telling yourself a bedtime story!
      Perhaps during the evening you can actually put ink to your imagination and write short stories? Narrate and tape them on your own YT channel to help others ... relax their thoughts and ease into sleep 😴....

    I do all of this. I'll do a diamond painting, I'll make bath bombs or soap. Sometimes, I'll make resin pieces. Read. I'll get comfy and still not be able to sleep. It's basically when my body is so exhausted it can't handle anymore that I fall asleep. This has been worse the last 5 to 7 months. I can't pin point what triggered it. Usually I finally pass out about 5am. Meaning I'm sleeping until 10am sometimes 12. I'm always tired. Idk how much longer I can go on like this. I've had to rearrange my entire life around my odd sleep schedule. It's insane & I'm over it. The reason I do crafts is because I'll get anxious if I'm just sitting with my own thoughts. I have to keep my mind busy.

    No thanks. If I do this, one of three things will happen:
    - I won't sleep
    - I will fall asleep in the wrong room (bad sleep hygiene)
    - When I get sleepy and go back to bed I will once again be unsleepy, taking me back to where I started
    Thus why I take my phone to bed despite this being horrible sleep hygiene. Gives me something to do while I wait to fall asleep.

    What I do to help me fall asleep is( still on bed):
    Praying
    Alphabet game ( pick a subject like produce and try to say a produce thst begins with the each letter of the alphabet, sometimes it is hard to do.)
    This one works well, cause I /you will usually fall asleep before I /you reach to Z.
    Saying an afirmmation, "God loves you, you can now can go to sleep!"
    Those help me go to sleep fast.☺🙏🏻💛❤🦋

      I tried going to bed at 1:26 and sat there, eyes closed, eye mask on, NO SLEEEEEEP. It’s 3:15 am, I have a dentist appointment in 5 hours. I’m screwed.

    I recommend listening to ASMR. I personally find visual triggers deeply relaxing and I often fall asleep very quickly watching and listening to it. My personal favourite is Latte asmr ❤

    That's actually good advice. The only thing is when I do all that and still can't and don't sleep and then I have to go to work . When I'm at work, I want to zonk out, I have to fight to stay awake.

    All these sources tell you to get out of bed if you can’t sleep in 15 minutes - that you’ll associate your bed with insomnia and worry. However, this method could easily take your insomnia to a new level. This strategy can transform your bed into a countdown clock, and make you start counting down the minutes, the seconds, until you “should” get out of bed despite your level of tiredness. Your mind can start to race, “I’ve been trying to go to bed for 18 minutes now, I only have 2 minutes remaining before they say I have to get up!” Well, what if you’re tired and you don’t want to? What if on the 22nd minute you would’ve drifted to sleep had you not been so concerned with these rules! Now, the source of your anxiety, the source of your sleeplessness, is entirely resting in the fact that you’re worried about when that 20 minute mark is approaching to get out of bed, because if you don’t, you’re behaving counter to sleep “experts.”

      i agree i like to lie there and laugh at insomnia i could get up and do loads of different things but i know its me thats stopping sleep so maybe i sleep tomorow night better i dont mind if i drop off watching telly in the evening its all good .everybody can get there sleep back on track even if some nights we dont get any sleep

    chamomile tea with a little Honey. You have to stick with it for a few weeks to really see results. Also try slow release melatonin. 3milg to start with. Check with your doctor but dont give up and keep trying different things.

    Honestly I learned in boot camp if you stay extremely still and concentrate on not moving for some reason that concentration makes you fall asleep

    Some tips: strictly no phones in bed. If it helps, reading helps me sleep and i hope you give it a try , too. I have a book ive been reading for a year now cause i always fall asleep after a page or two lol

    It's 4AM rn, I kept trying to fall asleep since 12AM but couldn't 😭
    So I started to watch some episodes of a series, then I went into my kitchen and ate smth
    Then I took a book and read about a chapter
    I even started to listen to music
    So I started to scroll on yt
    I have this problem daily😭
    I think I should try to make either a movie night with this or series night and bring some snacks in my bed with plushies, blanckets and pillows ☠️☠️😭

    How do you comunicate so much beauty? It's Incredible. I just look at it and it brings me to tears. Because I'm looking at it and I'm looking at myself. Yeah you've never really fallen asleep until you've fallen asleep on 5meo DMT. Until you recognize that it's you and that's basically what Infinity is. Sort of like I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you, no I love you more, I love you more, I love you more. Who can love who more? And whoever can love who more is God. You see that long laundry list of stuff about you that you don't love. God loves all of it. I'm sorry for not loving more, that's the only thing you have to be sorry about. Thank you. Thank You For Love! And at this point you realize that that's it, that's the point. That's the only lesson in life. That's my only job. Is to love. Everything else is idiocy and then what you do is you say I love you. For the first time in your life you say I love you because you really understand what that phrase means and you fall in love with God. But as it throws it out there, it's gentle so he throws it out there but then you say oh I can't love it and then what God will say in return is, it's okay. I love that you are not capable of love. I love that. And when that hits you. That's what fills you with enough love to overcome your resistance to love even that next level thing that you could do. No it can't be love. Of course it's love! what else could it be! It's love! No oh my God this is impossible! Of course it's love how could it be anything else!? How could I be so stupid as to think it's anything else. And God is like of course it's love.

    Respectfully, i disagree. You may not be sleeping, but you're still resting your body, which is just as important after a long day.
    Stay in bed, and literally, count sheep. OR just count.
    Getting up, out of bed, into bright light just wrecks you more. Your mind will think it's time to "be up" and just make it harder in the long run. Js.

    So basically get up over and over till dawn breaks and you need to go to work keeping composed and hoping you come off as normal. When in your mind and body aches to the point of wanting to die. Youfeel like you’re moving through quicksand mixed with molasses. You’re hyper alert needing to move function. You pray to live, but you want to die. You are surviving
    No thriving

    This is what I do! It works for me because I figured my body knows when it's sleepy and would eventually fall asleep and guess what I did it was great!

    Yes, to fallus asleep can be difficult.
    What I lately do is:
    I thank God.
    Thank You God for my bed.
    Thank You God for my body.
    Thank You God for money in bankacc.
    Thank You for the house I live in.
    So many things to be grateful for.

    You are 100% correct. It's insanity to stare into the darkness if you're not sleepy. Get sleepy, then crawl into bed.

    When I can’t fall asleep, I start reciting numbers in my head. The trick is to go at a quick pace so that thoughts won’t occur between numbers. It may also be necessary to visualize the numbers. I choose a fun font.
    The reason this works is it makes your brain become board. You start to fall asleep and will lose your place. Just pick back up someplace and keep going.
    I’ve never gotten to 1000, though I have given up a few times. This method works about 95% of the time. I’m usually out by 400, which takes about 5 minutes to get there. Instead of counting, you can also recite the alphabet or poetry, anything repetitive.
    If I have to give up, I will sometimes go eat something warm. It’s not good for my weight management, but warm food often makes us a little sleepy. Then go to bed and count again. Or count backwards.
    Overall, though, I don’t recommend getting out of bed because you’re losing out on potential sleep time.

    Construction labor makes me tired after 7-8 hours. The desert here typically reaches normally over 108+-124 degrees.
    So I'll do excersize in my bedroom if Im desperate to sleep.
    I'll play "Holding Out For A Hero" and when I fall asleep it will be epic

    15 minutes? I average falling asleep around 5 hours after “going to bed”. Man I haven’t fallen asleep within 15 minutes in like 6 years

    Listen to a audio book or podcast when you're sleepy, quickest way to goto sleep., when you jolt back up from sleeping in your chair you can quickly move onto the bed.
