You seem to know more than what you show, I'm relieved! Seeing your young age I have wondered how you two manage. Not meant in a "what can those kids possibly know about fixing a house" rude way (like I'm a builder to talk).... more like "if I started a project like this I'd need more safety measures" way (like with the roof...It was kind of scary when it happened. xD) I'm glad to be learning alongside with you, glad I subscribed to your channel and very curious about your future updates. Your hard work and positive attitude also keeps me coming back. Thanks for sharing! :)
Great job. Time for popcorn and a movie. We had snow tonight so we watched a movie. Cold and very windy with blowing snow tonight. No, where to go until Monday. See you tomorrow.
I'm impressed. 👏🏻 You both always keep trying. It's amazing to watch all your creative solutions. The way might be different to the regular, but who cares. If it's works, it's fine. 👍🏻 Your home getting more and more cosy. 🏡🤗
Great vlog guys. Just in from a 13hr shift and I see the fire getting sorted. David your one talented young man, well done. You will have to train the cat better than that...😆 🤣 😂 😹 not at the front door....yous will need to watch your feet after the snow melts..keep going you both, yous work well together ❤ 👏
Well done... I had every faith you would find a solution for the fire... it's lovely... I always think a real fire not only gives great heat but you feel warm just looking at it... gives a very homey feel...I hope it heats your room enough but I'm sure it will once you have had it going for a while... the house has been relatively cold for a while now so might take time to heat the room and the walls up but you have insulated well so I'm sure it won't take long xx
Your fvideo skills are amazing. Everything is just perfect. You Devids put grown adult ment to shame. I am truly impressed. I am so glad it worked out finally. :)
You need to build a mass heater, just like the old cooking brickmass Stove you demolished at the beginning, in the kitchen. With subzero temperatures, only a mass heater will ensure enough heat , day and night. You cast iron stove is fine, but it does not have enough heat retaining mass for your climate.
So glad you got the stove fixed. I was so worried about you guys having heat. I have always heated with a wood stove so I knew what the problem was but you had tons of advice in the comments. Usually a lot of people don't know what they are talking about but there are usually a few who do.👍👌😉
So glad you finally cracked the problem. You are a. An of many talents David. You need the warmth with the low temperatures over there! Hope you are now warm and cosy, it makes work so much easier!
I love it Red Necking Hard Core, but I think you are missing Gorilla tape? Red Necks< know that it's made stronger than plain old duck tape ROFL Up in the North of VT we use a lot it !!
You have an old crumbling house with an old stove, BUT your video was the most interesting of all the ones I've watched. Great work! Where are you guys from? We are in Central Canada, and we have a brand new home with a brand new stove. Despite doing everything right, we can not get out outside chimney to warm up and draw, so we're quite frustrated right now. We need a video on what kind of a contraption would warm up our back drafting chimney, so we don't get smoked out yet again. Your system worked wonderfully!
Hurray, you have heat! I was feeling so bad for you two in your jackets. I hope you can get it warm enough to be able to walk around without jackets. Also I think Evie would love a kitty-bed by the fire.
Well done! But please pay attention to the place where the pipe touches the roof. As you have some wood shingles under the slate. The pipe gets very hot sometimes and you may get a problem there.
Thank you! ❤️ I have checked it and its not even close to being warm, I mean we have -20 outside but still it looks good no problem. The pipe is leaking black liquid down from top I hop the smoke isn't too cold and creating slag in sides of the pipes, I am not sure of the terminology as I know the words in Latvian not in English but it's this build up in the chimney caused by smoke cooling down too low. Anyways thanks for your support and help! ❤️
@@DoBeDiff es diemžēl nezinu latviešu tik labi lai saprot to terminoloģiju 😁 Būt yes, Black redidue can be because of two things: the smoke is cold (that's the second reason why the external pipe has to be insulated normally), you use wet wood or wood with a big amount of resin. For example birch, pine, vai egle. Anyhow, you need to clean the pipe at least 2 times a season according to security rules. So it is very good that you have a condensation thingy below the external pipe. You can open it up and clean it without getting a lot of dust inside the house.
@@anthonychistoff9190 you speak quite a lot tho! Yeah we want the insulated pipes next year they come as blocks go straight through the roof, we first want the roof replaced and also the location of the chimney isn't the best as there is a wood support beam directly on top also on top of that is roof beam supporting the roof so needs to be more aside. It's a mess these old houses. Best would be central heating 😁
@@DoBeDiff well, I installed a fireplace with water contour. So when I fire it, I get central heating and hot water for the house. Very economical. But now I came to the conclusion that for the house it is better to have a solid fuel katlu. The best thing to avoid hustle and dirt around the house. And also with wireless attachment from aliexpress you can have digitally manipulated sistem which can be started and controlled from anywhere in the world.
Good work with the welding, handy skill to have. Be careful with that cement sheet roofing, I know you had a mask but asbestos fibers, if they're in it, will get on your clothes etc and can be later inhaled.
Thank you! 😊❤️ Yeah we hate the roofing and want to change it I only broke few pieces and did it carefully not to create dust so hopefully it will be okey, I can't imagine the work to take it all down and re do it with new roof 🙄
Heck no human it’s cold out here! I need a toilet box inside so I don’t have to go outside at all. Get to it quick, quick. I’m surprised you don’t have a litter box for Eve. I have 5 cats and 3 litter boxes. It’s not fun cleaning hem every day but it’s way better then finding presents the cat leaves you.
The pipe going through the wall is too long and will clog.It would work much better if it went out of the wall diagonally. External pipework should be insulated.
I don't think one could do, what you two do, here in Canada. Everything here is controlled and regulated and cost a lot of money. Lot's of red tape. you would need permits and have everything o.k.ed and have to pay lots of fees and there would be lot of red tape. It would be near impossible that those bureaucrats would allow all that. I so bless your project and wish you the very best. You have and are working so hard. I hope the worst, meaning the dirty work is done soon. You are awesome guys.
To 10 degrees Celsius in Livingroom but the enterance hall cools it down mostly so can't heaat up fast enough, we have - 20 Celsius today so very very cold. ❄️❤️
What's wrong with your finger again? Is it serious? Hope, not. Speaking about the stove... Skopais maksā divreiz, ne? 🤪😆 But it teaches us a lesson. Tūliņ būs atkal - 20 naktī, tā ka krāsniņa ies uz urrā! Malači - get warm! 🙃
Maybe your roof was built in ethernit. I can see the tipical texture in the video. You should be heedful because the ethernet in very dangerous for your healthy.
Those pipes are so much nicer looking.
Great that you fixed it !👍
Your music choices are awesome.
David you are a jack of all trades! I love watching you two working hard on your homestead.
Thank you! 😊❤️

We enjoy watching both of you on utube
@@jeanheise1923 Thank you, Jean 😊
The higher the chimney the stronger the draft.
Yeah thats what we learned the hard way 😁❤️
I’m glad that you’ve managed to get the stove working properly! It was painful to see you freezing in your own home :)
Thank you! ❤️ Hope we will freeze a bit less 😁
it looks like your eyes see, your hand can make. Great respect for you 2!
👏🏻 you did it. I love how you troubleshoot every problem and always find a solution. Your perseverance is admirable.

The wood burner is much more efficient because the heat is in the room with you. I suspect you’ll get a lot of heat out of it.
