Just done this on a 95-2. I drilled both holes as in video. I then soaked evaporator with coil clean on both sides, rinsed with water and used a flexible big truck air filter blow nozzle to blow everything back through the evaporator backwards from operating air flow by inserting blow nozzle in the square air outlet that's between the evaporator and heater core while clearing the drain tube with a long zip tie in between each step. I repeated this 5 times then let stand a few hours. this seemed to work very well being air flow was back to normal when everything was back together. thanks for this valuable information.
Nice fix Kev - you saved 7-10 hours downtime for the machine, everything is made to go back to the dealer, had to take the Tacoma in for some warning lite that they said was a glitch. Stay hydrated and out of the sun. Cheers
What a really nice short cut!! In that heat you gotta have a/c! We had 2 tractors that the a/c went out on recently that we just got fixed!! Hope all is well my friend!! Stay cool and safe!!
Thanks for the video. Did this today on SVL 75 - 2. Super easy, AC is blowing great again (like new), was pretty much non existent, coil was completely blocked up. 95f today in Texas sun and nice and cool inside cab again.
Just did this to my svl95 and holy crap what a difference…. The plastic is easily cut with a sharp razor (I heated mine with torch to melt thru). Took a paint scraper and scraped the crap off, vacuumed the bottom quick, and shot it with brake clean. Shiny and looks beautiful.. tapped it up and now I’m shivering! Beauty tip
Hi, I’m trying to do the same thing here, thank you for the video. Question: How big did you drill those holes? And did you use a pressure washer or just the hose?
The Kubota skid steer engineers must only test in a perfectly clean laboratory environment. Being able to service your filters for the cabin for heating and air conditioning should be an easy to service item. I am sure you'll really appreciate the climate controlled cab when your Eastonmade 48C arrives.
Ya its a pretty big problem. I'm sure they are starting to see these problems and hopefully fix them. Hard for them to hear about them if it's talked about in private groups. Now that it's getting some air time maybe they will take notice.
It's the same as your in home set up.. you need to clean the vents the filter will stop 98% of the crap but you need to replace them every 3 months and at least once a month in dusty conditions...Noone ever does.. next best is do what Kev did
What size hole did you drill? My 95 is doing the exact same thing and I’ve been thinking all along that the engineers didn’t make the a/c system strong enough. So, I googled it and found a video of the system being clogged. As the guy took apart the entire system, I called the local dealership and they want $630 to do it. Then I find your video of just blowing it out. Thank you!
Hi Lockhart, glad this video helped you. I'm not sure the size of the hole saw I used, I think it was a 1 1/4 I just kinda grabbed one and it worked out.
So, that red hose you fed down in there from the top, are you blowing it out with air or water? Also, is that the sound of a shop vac sucking from the bottom hole?
Ya the red line is a air line and that is a shop vac. It's just sucking out everything that comes out of it. I have seen people us water to wash it out too.
JB welding a fitting on there that you could either screw a plug in or attach a vent hose to 1 end and a leaf blower to the other would possibly be a good thing. Possibly give it a squirt with water first and then use a leaf blower or even a compressor to dry things out afterwards. My old BMW stopped pumping air out of the AC entirely. After googling I found out that there's a bit that's known as the "sword" due to the shape. The afterthought HEPA filter is before the sword and when it blocks up the sword overheats and the heater and aircon stops. The HEPA filter literally mounts behind the heater module against the firewall. Absolutely awesome to access that through the footwell. You can't see the nuts that release the filter and you have to work from photos and by feel. The same to access the sword after you remove the filter. Engineers totally shit me sometimes and many of them deserve a kick in the nuts.
Guys say to close the inside filter system will help. Kubotas filters really suck for this. I don't think there is any way to really completely stop it tho.
We’re you using vacuum through the tube or air compressor to blow it out? And thanks for the tip I’m gonna do this as soon as I get mine home from work site
Vacuum in the bottom hole and hp air in the top. Problem when I did ours it was running before I started to it was wet so the vacuum didn't help super well. I have heard of guys putting the bottom hole lower and just using water to clean it out too. Water apparently drains right down to the belly pan and out. Either way will save you spending 6 to 8 hrs pulling the whole thing out.
Ya everything should work better now. I don't remember how well the heat was working. I was running the 90 all winter. Ya pete was very happy to have it fixed.
You don't have to cut it... if you have a powerful enough air compressor block all the vents and pressurized one of the air vents. I pressurized the one facing the door. Just reverse the flow essentially. This will blow everything up out of the evaporator behind the seat area (on top). You can use a Shop-Vac back there while you're blowing it out.
A few other ways to do it 1 spend 6 to 8hrs pulling the whole system out to get to it or 2 is to duct tape up all vents and use a leaf blower to blow back through it which doesn't get all the gunk and grim off it if it's wet. And it will be something you will have to do again as well. Your machine do what you want.
I owe you a beer or 5 mate! this saved me so much time. Did mine today after 2yrs of mulching work...unbelievable difference. Thanks for the vid mate.
Glad this helped you out!! It really is a time saver thats for sure. The cabs get really hot without the air working right thats for sure. Take care!
Bet Peter is happy to have a skilled mechanic like you on staff. Heck you might win the Employee of the month award.
Ya pete was pretty happy that I got it working good again. I know about skilled hahaha

Thats awesome man! I'm glad it worked for ya. Not fun not having AC in this heat.
That's a time saver. Where were groups like this in my day? Oh yeah, I predate the internet and home computers. 😂😂 have a great day.
Hahaha ya it has its good and bad. This was one of the better things I have found in them. Hope all is well and take care
Fantastic! Headed to the garage now to do the same! You made a difference! Remember that!
Thanks K Thomas!! You will be super happy that you did it.
Good job Kev. Now get some rubber plugs to put in the holes. Take care and have a blessed weekend and I'll see you on your next vidja.
Amazon has some "Rubber Firewall Plugs"
Ya I will have to look into that. Never really thought about them till now but they would work good.
Thank you brother! I'm burning up out here!
Glad I could help ya out. Stay cool!
Nice fix Kev - you saved 7-10 hours downtime for the machine, everything is made to go back to the dealer, had to take the Tacoma in for some warning lite that they said was a glitch. Stay hydrated and out of the sun. Cheers
Ya it saved a ton of time thats for sure. And you are right, hard to do anything yourself now cause you need a computer for it. So back to the dealer
What a really nice short cut!! In that heat you gotta have a/c! We had 2 tractors that the a/c went out on recently that we just got fixed!! Hope all is well my friend!! Stay cool and safe!!
Ya its nice to have a spot to cool down abit. Keeps you fresher when we are running saws too
Thanks Kev. Worked a charm.
Awesome!!! Glad it worked for ya.
This saved me so much time and hassle. Thanks for sharing!
Glad this helped you out Ron! So nice having the AC back haha
Thanks for sharing this. Did this today on a SVL75C. So much easier to get to the Evap Coil and clean in.
I'm glad this helped you out Craig!! It was such a relief to have the AC working again in ours.
You’re a Saint, just did this and worked perfectly after.
Also I did it on SLV 65 and it’s the same
That's awesome!!! Glad it helped you out. The cabs get crazy hot with out the ac working right
100 thumbs up!! You just saved me so much time and work. This method works great!
Glad this video help you out! Sucks in the summer when you have no AC.
Thanks for the video. Did this today on SVL 75 - 2. Super easy, AC is blowing great again (like new), was pretty much non existent, coil was completely blocked up. 95f today in Texas sun and nice and cool inside cab again.
Thats awesome Jeff! Glad it helped you out. Those cabs can become unbearable in that heat
We took the seat out which made access very easy. Seat was easy to remove.

Glad this worked for ya. Such a easy way of doing it and way cheaper. Stay cool!!
I like easy and I like cold ac. Looks like a win to me!
Oh it was a big win. One of those jobs that you are super happy when it's done
Thanks for putting this up. Exactly what I needed.
Your welcome. Glad it helped ya out
Subscription gained for this video 💪90 & 97 here
Thanks!!!
Thanks this worked like a charm.
Awesome man! Glad it helped ya out!
Worked perfectly for my svl90-2!! Many thanks!!
Thats awesome man!! Glad it helped you out. Those cabs can become unbearable with the AC blowing
Hi, I’m trying to do the same thing here, thank you for the video.
Question: How big did you drill those holes?
Your welcome! I think it was 1 inch. If you need more room just make it bigger.

What type of nozzle is that you are using on your compressor?
It's called a air comb.
So, that red hose you fed down in there from the top, are you blowing it out with air or water? Also, is that the sound of a shop vac sucking from the bottom hole?

This is a great idea Alan. I think I will look into the more for when I go and do our 90 and have I ready to go. Thank you
..no air, head for the bar...lol..good fix stay safe..
Hahaha now that's a good fix!!!! Have a good one Bob!
so to help prevent this when running with the door up leave the AC and fan off the whole time so its not sucking any air through the intake ??
Guys say to close the inside filter system will help. Kubotas filters really suck for this. I don't think there is any way to really completely stop it tho.
What brand is that engine air intake pre-filter? My svl90-2 doesn't have that.
I'm not sure it was a update for the 2016 svl95. Our 90 doesn't have it either. You could go to kubota and see if you can order it tho if you want it
Any chance we could get a video on the hole bagging process.. start to delivery?..
I will see what I can do for ya. I do have one on how we bag our wood.
Nice trip kev..
Thanks Daniel. Hope all is well with you
@@SkidderKev : All is well on my end. Just not used to heat here in the Pacific NW.
I guess you guys don't get super hot there eh.

I guarantee this got ya an Atta Boy from the Boss!👍
Will it also heat better this winter?
Ya everything should work better now. I don't remember how well the heat was working. I was running the 90 all winter. Ya pete was very happy to have it fixed.
@@SkidderKev Would not be good on whole system to be plugged up besides the hot operator! Have a great day!

Air is for wimps! Just kidding! Nice fix Kev
Hahaha it's nice in the summer when we are cutting thats for sure.
Now you just have to do the other machine Kev.
The 90 blows really good still so we will probably leave it till next spring.
Ya just cut holes in plastic... that’s fine lol
