Wonderful watching you perform and delighted to see you exploring non traditional keyboards. Very handy having someone to work the Microcosm for you.

I also have Osmose and Microcosm.
They are a match made in heaven.
The Strymon Cloud reverb, is a very nice effect for the Osmose too.
    Thanks for sharing this video.

I love this approach. Eno and Fripp are huge influences on me.
What would you say are thr pros and cons of the seaboard vs. osmose? I already have a linnstrument, an erae touch and a striso, but I'm considering an mpe keyboard. Which do you like best, and why?

ach. i get asked this lot. if had to have ONLY one, i'd keep the Rise. for pure delight... Osmose.

I just bought an Osmose, and it arrived a couple of days ago. My best advise: think about your music, and how you want to play it.
The first thing that I did was see how softly the Osmose would respond. Passed that test! MIDI hooks the keyboard to my eurorack. My eurorack has Intellijel Tetrapad, Doepfer joystick and ribbon controller, and touché. Yes, the face that almost the only control I had with my synth was a trigger bothered me a lot, starting when I first bought a used Yamaha CS15. Do I think the Osmose is complete by itself? No. For me, it requires the touché as well, but that's because I want my hands on as many parameters as I can all the time. I am one of many who think expressivee should also produce a foot pedal.

Holy shit, thats that weird midi instrument that I want to say Hans Zimmer what's pushing hardcore. It looks like it's a lot of fun, but what the hell.

Man that is really nice. Great piece done with just a couple synths. Of course it helps that those two synths are MPE capable and can be as expressive as acoustic instruments ;).
Thanks for the info at the beginning. I wish more people would take a moment and explain the setup, even just a little bit to give the viewers some reference detail. That really helps the rest of us try and work out our setups. MPE is a tricky protocol, and different synths require MPE mode while others work better with Multi Channel mode.
I set up a Seaboard Rise in multi channel mode (1 thru 5) and used it to control 5 different synth modules like a pseudo OB SEM configuration.

I want to try recording the set up again with a little stereo reverb for the atmosphere as this quick example was just live audio in the room from the iPhone.

The 2nd half reminds me of Aphex Twin's Xtal and Enya's Exile - but in a good way LOL. I used to be all about Autechre and FSOL ... and Geminiani/Handel. When talented people do interesting ambient things I love it, but there's a lot of super-mediocre ambient stuff. Reverb is soft focus for ugly music. And maybe it's unfair, but any effect that self-identifies as 'granular' just screams "magic box of faux creativity" to me. There's a lot of aggressively uninspired content on YT centered around Microcosms and Red Panda pedals and similar plugins. But this is lovely!

agreed. it's a slippery slope, and you've expressed some of its pitfalls nicely.
