There is another great series following the Danish military called "Top Gun på dansk grund", translating to "Top Gun on Danish Soil". Its a series about the Danish Military Pilot school, and its really good. Even though its about the Air Force, i think you might enjoy it

XIII is getting Piranha 5 APCs. Not that they are transitioning into a mechanized unit. As I feared when I first heard about it. They are just getting a pool of APCs, that can be used on certain types of IntOps.
US Rangers also have a pool of Strykers.

Those elevtronic targets could easily be poorly calibrated... And at that stage I dont think many people get any advanced training because focus is on safety and weapon handling.

Those optics aren't the best, and I've honestly never been a fan, but I have never had one change range on me by accident, nor have I heard about it happening, yet it happened twice in one day here?

It should be remembered that the Danish military has never been taken seriously until about six months ago. The country was semi-neutral but still a NATO member, but it never fulfilled the agreed 2% of BNP. To compare the Danish military with the British American or French military would be ridiculous, they have no history, and no fighting experience. Just consider the history of British Army units and their battle honours and their traditions hundreds of years of fighting around the world. It will require many years before the Danes can talk about a serious military, their behaviour in the past was at times anti-NATO, such as their "footnote policy" in the eighties. I saw how that was conducted in a single day when HMS Invincible was on a courtesy visit to Copenhagen, there were about 110 members of the Danish government and high-ranking military personnel, the day finished with a talk by the Captain of Invincible and his offer to answer any questions, there was complete silence in the room, you could have cut the air with a knife, my journalist gave me a nudge and said "stick your arm up you have some good questions" which I did and the captain suddenly smiled and responded to my questions. We then all were going to be flown back to the mainland and filed out of the room, at the doorway the captain shook hands with each person when it came to my turn he grabbed my arm and dragged me away from the others, he then thanked me for my questions and said " you have saved the day". These days Denmark is trying to gain support by helping the Ukrainians with equipment and F-16s, well they are getting lots of brownie points but if the SHTF I would not rate their inexperienced military.

You compare Apples and bananas right now. I totally agree that the foreing politics especially about our payment for Nato is some of the most emberrasing about Denmark at all.
But talking shit about the danish milltary, claiming there is no history is fucking nonsens,
If you compare us wirh the others on pure size, the armed forces dont seem like much, but on the willingness and combatproven we are just as good a fighting force as all of the three countries, that you mention.
I served in Afghanistan in 2008,11 og 13 alongside American and british forces in the green zone. And I kinda feel your post spits on all danish soldiers who ever served in Any of the wars we participated in.
If you really are a journalist you should do your research better.

There is a very simple explanation for the ineffectiveness of the Danish military, and lack of support. I am talking about successive governments who never gave the military the means of staying relevant. The attitude in the past was always why should we bother, we are a NATO country the others will help us. When the government does not care then neither does the public. In my country it is completely different, the public has always stood behind the military, the politicians need to be reminded of their responsibilities but we have hundreds of years of campaigns and famous battles, when was the last time Denmark was at war with another country? If I am not mistaken 1864 and you had your asses kicked, so other than the thousands of Danes who fought for Hitler you have no real military history. You did your bit in Afghanistan good for you, but Denmark was just one of many countries and the Danish contingent was not that large. Maybe Prince Frederik should have shown the flag but my God imagine if he had got hurt! The British have a tradition that a male royal should do military service even when there is a war, Prince Andrew was a helicopter pilot in the Falklands conflict, and prince Harry did two tours in Afghanistan.
Morten, using foul language does not strengthen your argumentation. I am not a journalist.
