I'm happy ivar got out of kattegat and is with igor. We have seen ivar being insecure, intelligent, and cruel,we have seen him gentle too,but the moments didnt really last. ivar is still intelligent ,with his vulnerabilities, and his cruel streak but around igor we see his gentle side more. I'm not saying ivar is a good man,but I still love his moments with igor. He looked proud when igor stepped up to oleg at the table and angry when oleg threatened the kid. Honestly igor is such an adorable kid too😭

Well... Ivar’s character was real heavy!
I like his guts, his intelligence. He had a unique sense of loyalty that saddened me as a lot of people failed to acknowledge that.. that he wasn’t a man incapable of love; rather a hefty burden of both his weakness & rage upon his shoulders that was only enough to fill the void.
Even though as his morality didn’t seem to catch up, I have to admit, I hated hating him.
To me, as wicked as it may sound, he was an elite!
I think ivar proved different times he is able to love, maybe not many times and not many people but he really love people and when he does he truly love someone and he he loves Igor as a son
Ivar is such an awesome father figure to Igor and I love it
Oleg tried to control Igor by frightening him. He forgot that children are more likely to be loyal to those who show even just a little kindness to them.

Four things I want to see from Ivar in 6b:
1. For him to keep this good relationship with Igor and not betray him and not hurt him (even if it was to be kind like he did with baby Baldur - from his perspective that was a kindness, not to let his 'son' live in pain and being mocked, plus there's the whole question as to whether or not a baby with a cleft lip could have lived in those days, if he couldn't be breastfed).
2. For him to have some sort of reunion with his three surviving brothers, and for them all to fight on the same side, forget everything else that happened or at least put it aside even for a minute and fight together, even if all the problems and unresolved issues come back 5 minutes after the war.
3. For him to meet with Alfred again, once not in battle, once in battle, for them to talk, and if they do fight and Alfred defeats him, for it to be as a result of a good battle strategy like that chess game he beat Ivar in, and like in that chess game for Ivar to acknowledge it was a good move. I know Ivar hates to loose as much as he hates being pitied or mocked, but I think he'd hate it less if he was defeated in battle by someone who knew what they were doing and as a result of a cleverly planned battle strategy rather than by an idiot who didn't have a clue what he was doing and who only won because of a second of dumb luck. Also, I think that Ivar did genuinely respect Alfred and that Alfred genuinely liked him, that he meant it as a sign of respect and friendship when he gave Ivar that king piece, and that Ivar was genuinely touched by the gesture as well as equally confused by the act of genuine kindness.
4. For him to go to Valhalla with all four of his brothers - and that when he wakes up in Valhalla his legs will be able to move without the need for crutches or braces or anything. I want to see his face when he can walk on his own like everyone.

I really think a lot of Ivar’s relationship with Igor was his regret over killing his former wife’s child while he left him there to do I think he regrets also killing his wife which why is he acted sort of like a father figure to Igor and loved Oleg’s wife he saw the life he could of had and had craved a child but unfortunately he lost all that plus I also think he felt sorry for him because of his mistreatment I think a lot of that reminded him of how his brothers treated him so poorly because of his disability he understood him so much
I really connected with Ivars character I feel though he could be extremely cruel and evil there was also a part of him that did care he did love people he just had a hard time showing it because of how he was treated but once he really did get close to someone he did let down his guard and I think for him that was Igor
He provided some sort of comfort and I think Igor trusted Ivar because he really had no one else

ivar knows how to control igor, how to manipulate him. unlike oleg that uses violence
Exactly, ivar is so clever
Plus he truly cares for him and is helping him so not really manipulation if Igor knows hes planning to take down Oleg and working with Dir. Ivar just used the situation to his advantage while helping Igor and talking to him how Ragnat did to him before he died. Comforting him like Floki did with him too.
Positive side to Oleg's violence, it toughens him up.
Negative side to Oleg's violence (apart from the fact that it's pretty cruel half the time), it leaves him open and desperate for some affection and that that leaves him open to manipulation.
