if any of you actualy knew either Rozz or Valor, you would know that none of this is even relevant. Your opinions are your own to have, but they do not change reality. Rozz was a beautiful person but had problems like everyone else. obviously. R.I.P. Valor was always very cool and not as stuck up as many of you assert. Also he is actually a better musician than he gets credit for. My band played with Christian death for many years and we experienced the trauma of Rozz's death, bands reformating, relationships ending, we were a pretty tight knit goth music scene the bands playing at that time. We would have been appauld at the scene today, all sideing with who was better and projecting their vitriol on to artists and musicians who gave you something to argue about in the first place. quit bitching and go pick up a guitar yourself, and start a band, so people can tear you down instead of appreciating your own uniquness. such a lame attitude compared to how cool our audiences were back in the day. There is nothing cool, punk or deathrock about being a hater who cannot appreciate the authenticity and uniqueness of EVERY performer giving you their best. Sad thing is, if he could hear you, he wouldn't agree with your tearing down of other musicians, Rozz would despise you. so not cool.
"The pope is in Rome and The Emperor is in The White house" Valor said nearly the same thing in an interview in 1996. I'm glad to see his visions have adapted with the times. :)
Although I am not a fan of Valor’s version of Christian Death, I have to give him respect as someone who has managed to make a living playing music for so many years. Yes, Rozz was the origin and inspiration for everything that was to follow, and Valor knew that he had a true genius in his midst. When Rozz left CD, Valor made a choice to step into some very big shoes. Valor doesn’t have Rozz’s talent or vision, but he does have motivation and the drive to do what it takes to sustain a music career. Most musicians give up after a setback, but Valor kept going. I personally think that the most interesting incarnation of the band was the one that created Catastrophe Ballet and Ashes. I adore Only Theatre of Pain, but the next two albums were artistically more complex. Valor had a lot to do with that. So, while I am not a Valor fan, I don’t blame him for making the most of the situation.
Christian Death is Death, with Rozz ...Valor = with Valor = Comercial Death...or Money Death, freaking isn't DEATH! Mr. Valor , give to me a reason to do not to hate you!
Rozz and Valor are great.
Its was Rozz who abandoned Christian Death..
Valor who kept it Alive.
Not even close
It's funny that people still are mentioning Rozz Vs. Valor. Get over it people!!!!
