    KG in his prime, beasting in the playoffs. Doesn't get much better than that.

    I remember this game. It was an instant classic that went down the wire. KG really put the team on his back that night. It's just too bad they didn't go all the way that year cuz they had the talent to do it.

      @meharinationsportspodcast2582 10 лет назад +2

      They did but Sam Cassell had his back problems which limited his effectiveness and Troy Hudson was injured which made KG the point forward against the Lakers.

      Yeah if they were healthy that series the outcome might've been different.

    Oh man this brings me back. KG was my idol growing up and was no doubt my favorite player. Watching this game back then I was full of excitement and nerves. Incredible performance. Although he eventually won a title with the C's, I was almost sure after this series that they would beat the Lakers in the conference finals and go on to take the Larry O'Brien back to Minnesota. It was rough to watch Kevin do his thing the next three years and never make it back to the playoffs with the Wolves.

    the greatest power forward of the post jordan era as far as accomplishements is concerned is obviously tim duncan but the BEST power forward as far as level of skills is concerned is kevin garnett,period !

      As a Lakers fan, I hated KG even more than Duncan. At least Duncan, had some weaknesses, his range was limited compared to KG and he wasn’t a great FT shooter. Garnett, literally had no weaknesses and felt impossible to stop. Great postup player, jump shooter, can shoot 3s, pass well and great FT shooter.

    I really don't give a crap about nobody else's overall career or accomplishments. Considering the time & situation, combined with who HE was playing against, combined with the garbage KG was teamed up with. This game is truly the single greatest playoff game performance ever!!! EVER! By any player including Michael, Magic, Kobe, Lebron, Shaq, Kareem, Wilt, and especially Duncan. Facts!!! Put any of those guys on this roster in place of KG, and the T-Wolves go home with a loss.

    Yes, great performance. Still, KG couldnt play 40 year old Karl Malone. Not everyone play 19 years with more than 25 pts per game and 10 rebs and 5 asst per game. Great effort KG.

    • @hardwoodthought1213
      @hardwoodthought1213 10 лет назад +1

      I think you mean the other guys couldn't play Payton, Kobe and Shaq, lol what an idiot, Malone is the fourth (maybe fifth greatest PF ever) Garnett is second. Malone couldn't win with the second greatest PG ever and then thee most stacked team since the 86 Celtics.

    • @mr.e347
      @mr.e347 10 лет назад

      ***** You might be really young to put KG as 2nd all time PF. You cant be serious. Malone, Rodman, McHale and Barkley were way better, with better average and could make the difference on their team. Even Dirk is better than him. On KGs prime he couldnt beat a 40 year old Malone. Go back to video games kid. You didnt see the greatest PFs. KG couldnt even lead Wolves to a NBA finals on a decade that wasnt that hard, with lousy teams on East. Malone did twice, Barkley did. Get your facts straight, kid

    • @hardwoodthought1213
      @hardwoodthought1213 10 лет назад +4

      Bruno Entringer A) Karl Malone had zero playoff success until 1997, it took him 13 years to make a finals, same as KG really.
      B) He played with the third greatest PG of all time and at any given moment was the second best player on his team; Stockton made all the clutch plays and is responsible for Malone's inflated averages. I don't care about stats, Malone choked in the clutch always and is responsible for Utah losing in the finals.
      C) KG played with 3 quality players in his 12 years in Minnesota, Malone played with the likes of Eaton, Jeff Malone, Horrnacek...
      D) As I said Malone was flanked by Shaq/Kobe (both top 15 players in their primes) and GP (greatest defensive PG ever).
      E) We all know Malone in no way deserved one of his MVP's, again how can you be the leagues most valuable player playing with the second best PG of his day (after Payton)?
      F) You talk about match ups Malone's only real competition was Barkley, KG was guarding dudes like Duncan/Nowitzki/Webber/Wallace...
      G) MALONE WON NOTHING. Don't cite averages, McHale didn't average anywhere near as good as KG, Dirk in his MVP year lost to the first seed.
      KG didn't play in the East in his prime, your point is irrelevant (also cite me the quality teams Malone faced in 97 and 98? Hakeem, No, Kemp, No, Mullin, No, Robinson, No...).
      Plus he had no defence, KG is the greatest defensive PF ever. Time to let go of the 90s man.

    • @mr.e347
      @mr.e347 10 лет назад

      ***** You are wrong. Malone had been on Semifinals several times against Blazers and Lakers before and Conference Finals in 92, 94 and 96 (97 and 98 and later in 2004). KG came into the league in 1995 and even on his MVP year (with stats Malone did his entire career) couldnt go to NBA Conference Finals (losing to a grandpa Malone). KG had to become a role player to finally go to a Easier Conference East Finals.

      Bruno Entringer Rodman and Barkley couldn't put a patch on KG's nutsack. Get out of here with that garbage.

    Those Kings where a great team much better than Minnesota but the Wolves had the most valuable player that season and during the playoff lol. with a huge impact on winning that series.

    • @jonathanwilke9562
      @jonathanwilke9562 10 лет назад

      How were the Kings much better than the Wolves when the Wolves had the best record in the West? Garnett, Sprewell and Cassell were the higest scoring trio in the NBA that season in addition to having a solid player off the bench in Szczerbiak.

    • @benseverson7820
      @benseverson7820 10 лет назад

      I think this was one of the most evenly matches series I've ever watched. Both teams were good and had great years, came down to a missed 3 that just barely rattled out for Chris Webber that would have tied it up in game 7? It doesn't get much closer than that.
