- Our lust for the ocean was strong after a week of not surfing and anticipation for what the famed Sagres had to offer was high. It did not let us down! After spending a week in Sagres (the Algarve in Portugal) we surfed a variety of different waves. Here is a short guide on the different spots that Sagres has to offer.

nice one!
Spots listed as beginner friendly aren’t. Use caution if your intermediate. If you’re a beginner don’t, there are no lifeguards and the conditions here will change in minutes from friendly fun size, to triple overhead board snapping terror. Go and find mellow beaches with full time surf schools if this alarms you.
Beliche and Zavial Super gnarly when it gets good and big beginners would die because these waves are mean
Yea that rocky section on the right can eat you up if it is big and you don't know what you are doing!
Awesome video guys!! Looks like you caught some good ones. My favorite spot down there is definitely Ponta Ruiva and Kangaroo in Arrifana!! Did you make it down to the right in Arrifana too? That's definitely an experienced surfer spot when it is working. :) Gets massive and super powerful.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the heads up on Arifana - we will definitely check it out next time. Ponta Ruiva was our favourite spot too - a beautiful place to practice your backhand.
I surf beliche and tonel quite often and my coach is a local there, chicosagres
boa!!! Really nice video :)
Thanks for the support!
Sagres doesn´t need another guide, nor is this a good one. Obviously you don´t know what you are talkin about, as beliche and tonel are gnarly spots when they are on and they are not suited at all to be surfed by beginners. With videos like this you just make the -already pissed off - locals even more angry by guiding more and more kooks to that place.
Nothing against you guys personally but please stop uploading videos introducing these spots. We don't need any more kooks coming to our place and completely trashing the area. You wanna surf? Do it discreetly. Thank you for your kind consideration.
Hey Mitsuya, I've been thinking about this comment for a while now and I think you are right with regards to us being more discreet in the future.
I think a rule of thumb we will use in future is that if the surf spot is on Magic Seaweed then we can talk about it. If it isn't, we won't mention it.
also don’t think too many people are hucking it to Portugal after they see one yt video
@@OllieandtheCaptain everything was on magicseaweed. but if you don't even know what you are doing, why doing these videos
By all means put the time in, in S/A and make an informed surfing guide, but your so far off the mark with this guide I'm embarrassed for you, you can't do a proper surf guide as part of your holiday, it's the equivalent of me riding a push bike and calling it a Ferrari and banging on about it for 4 Minutes..
