People tend to forget the fact the Jaws soundtrack is more than just the dun-dun Cello stinger. There are some exciting adventurous pirate like music during the barrel sequences, or even some unique leitmotifs for several characters, objects, and locations. The Orca's leitmotif which you can hear in the middle of this song and then again during the Shark cage preparation and the final battle is one of my favorite parts out of all the musical themes in the movie due to it's preparing for battle kind of feeling.
Same. Bruce is done playing peek-a-boo. He WANTS them to see him. Let me steal a quote from Jack Griffin from the original Invisible Man: It's Bruce's way of saying "Alright, you fools. You've brought it on yourselves!"
Me too! It’s the exact kind of music that would play in my head if I saw a great white; A creature whose sheer size, power and majesty you don’t fully comprehend until you see one up close.
Currently listening to this with my headphones on as I read the book version. Really helps my imagination a lot more and helps bring up the intensity as I read it.
I wonder if Williams thought, “This is kind of like a pirate movie” or “Well, when else am I ever going to make music for a pirate movie, so I might as well here”.
In Jaws documentaries he often mentions that he never felt so much passion for music he did like when he composed for Jaws. Such a primordial, ancient feeling of a horror story, really inspire him. Ironically Spielberg initially thought the legendary 4 notes of Jaws theme were a joke and he asked Williams if this is gonna work, it's that short. It certainly did.
4:26 One of my favourite eerie sequences in any film. The lighting, the music, the whistling, Quints’ Indianapolis speech, the creepy whale sound effect, the shooting star. It just snowballs from here on out. One of, if not the greatest film of all time. Spielberg’s best!
0:34 It's at this exact moment where the audience officially meets Bruce the shark. Up until this point, we have only seen brief glimpses of him. In what is (IMO) the greatest movie villain introduction, Bruce surfaces and begins swimming towards the Orca, accompanied by the iconic theme song. He WANTS them to see him. He's done hiding. The three heroes watch him with fear and astonishment. When they determine how big he is (25 ft in length and 3 tons in weight), the fight is on and the third act begins!
The estuary scene gave us a good look at the shark and it’s far more terrifying than this “reveal”. I’ve never understood why people refer to this scene as the reveal of the shark.
@user-rs4gr9yq4u I think it's because this is when the main characters first see the shark. The estuary scene only has minor characters seeing the shark.
Although these themes are iconic, having just finished reading the novel, I can say that I think the novel does a way better job at describing the shark. This theme makes Bruce have more of a self awareness feel and thus more bloodthirsty, monster feel. The shark in the novel is much more laid off and attacking on instinct l, something that sharks actually do in real life. The only real detail that’s not most accurate in the novel is that sharks almost never truly have an interest in human flesh. Has there been cases? Yes they’re certainly has, but this is extremely rare. So much so that if it does happen, it takes marine biologists by shock. Even with the great white shark, they don’t usually prefer humans, but with how primitive they are, they often can’t distinguish something as food they would actually eat until they touch or bite it. Great white sharks are responsible for most shark attacks, but they are NOT responsible for the most fatalities. The bull shark is more often the most dangerous shark as well as the tiger shark and oceanic whitetip shark.
How The Hell is Right Sir Your Right John Williams How the Hell Did He Come Up With This He Doesn't See And Feel What We All Feel To Creat He Gave it Life Pleasure Master PIECE Right in The Feels
More shark scenes, but less suspense and horror. My idea for a better sequel would be another location with a different shark species. The characters can make references to the first movie's events, and someone could think that it was a one-time occurrence. Jaws 2 is a competent movie, but I wish that it tried something new.
Fun fact: the iconic line "You're gonna need a bigger boat." Was improvised by Roy Scheider because he constantly on set heard, "We need a bigger camera," or, "We need a bigger shark." And originally in the script he was gonna say something else to Quint, but Scheider came up with that line on the spot.
This is the original score heard in the actual movie. That album from your link is re-recordings they did for some reason and none of them are the actual exact pieces used in the film. Not sure why they did that, but this video and the rest of the playlist is the actual music used in the movie.
Эта музыка написана в середине 70-х годов ХХ столетия и до сих пор звучит превосходно! Браво!
In my opinion it is the most beautiful film in the history of cinema, seen thirty times and always the same emotions.

'Shut off that engine'
Seen it a million times. Still get chills.
The 2 Jaws Actors Have Died Robert Shaw (quint) and Roy scheider (brody) now what are we gonna do without them?
Read that in Quints voice
As he looks in the wrong direction vs. the direction the shark actually approaches from.
Same.
Bruce is done playing peek-a-boo. He WANTS them to see him.

Yup
JAWS is the greatest movie ever made!
I watched this movie every single day when I was a kid. This is my all time favorite movie
1:11
-Youre gonna need a bigger boat right?
-Gotta get to work
-How do we handle this? How do we handle this?
Martin I need you!
Fun fact about the “You’re gonna need a bigger boat” quote is that it was never on the script for the movie! Roy Scheider came with it himself!
This is ''YOU're gonna need a bigger boat''
0:53 That swell of music and the shark swimming next to the boat always gives me chills
It is almost like the shark is saying "I'm done hiding now"
Me too! It’s the exact kind of music that would play in my head if I saw a great white; A creature whose sheer size, power and majesty you don’t fully comprehend until you see one up close.
Your both going to need a bigger boat.
Exactly. He WANTS them to see him.
Yeah it gives you this “crawling/creeping” feeling. Like that feeling when you’re in the water and you feel something beneath you.
Currently listening to this with my headphones on as I read the book version. Really helps my imagination a lot more and helps bring up the intensity as I read it.
One of the greatest scenes in film history.
Made possible by one of the greatest soundtracks … 3mins on…. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
My all-time favorite movie villain introduction!
This is the best scene from JAWS 1!
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."

@@HyperVegitoDBZ It’s only two notes, but yeah.
The best part in the soundtrack.
Amazing score!
JAWS was the first ever summer blockbuster.
Roy Schneider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss all played their roles so very good in this movie especially Robert Shaw and Roy Schneider.
How the hell do you come up with this? Williams was an absolute god. This is the best out of the movie IMO. This tells quite a story.
I really dig this!!!
Agreed!
Because he is the one and only.
I know and it’s just 2 main notes
What a stuff what a track !!! This gives me addiction. Johnny Williams Is The Master
2:30 best part! 😆

"Hooper, where are you?'
Hooper, hurry up, he's coming straight for us! Don't screw it up now!
Quick Hooper, tie ‘em up!
Hooper: “Don’t wait for me!”
0:02 love the string buildup
3:34 Sounds like a sped up version of The jaws 2000 the shark approaches ost
I remember hearing 0:44 in the original mono version. Any idea why that note was slightly altered for the remaster?

This is the best JAWS movie but you got to admit that JAWS 2 is pretty good for a sequel. I think that the 2nd movie is more intense.
