    In other words you can Duke people out of billions of dollars of their savings and only get 25 years in a federal judgment case against him tell me there isn't a two-tier justice system that's just downright wrong he should never be let out of prison ever again to create the same chaos over and over again at your federal judge at your Federal judicial system for you if your Democrats you get off easily if you're Republican you would have got a hundred years easy for the same damn crime

    Lawyer: "it is a realistic sentence, Judge didn't make any obvious mistakes". Video title: "Why Sam Bankman-Fried's 25-Year Sentence Is 'Absurd'". In fact the only time the Lawyer utters the word "absurd" was in relation to 40-50 year sentence that the government initially requested, not the final sentence. Journalism?

    It is the absurdity of the US legal system to give SBF such a lenient sentence. Why ? Because SBF represents capitalism in the end. The establshment made all the efforts to reduce his sentence. Look at the sentences imposed on all ordinary poor people, black people. Typical of the US.

  • @nathanstalvey3266

    I disagree that the 25 years is too much and that going to prison is a deterrent enough for white collar criminals. Look at Billy MacFarland and John Spano. They did time and went right back to defrauding and scamming after their prison sentence. Kaplan even noted that Sam was not remorseful for his actions and SBF hinted that he would basically do it all again given the chance. True, it wasn't malicious, but he's a gambler and will gamble again with other people's money.

    What other stance would a white collar defense attorney take ?.
    I think 25 years will punish him and warn others. The judge could have gone higher for me.
    At least 3 people committed suicide because of the FTX fraud, and that has to be taken into account.

  • @northwestcoast
    @northwestcoast Месяц назад

    SBFs main punishment will come from his own mind.
    The time in prison is merely an outward manifestation of that, intended to make an example of him.
    He had the world in his hands and he threw it all away and that is going to eat him alive.
