imo they are both the same. High damage. High reward on CH. a backdash that leads into a forward charging move. Almost unreactable setups when set right.
Even if May can be annoying to fight sometimes, I have nothing but at least a little respect because I cannot use Charge/Hold characters well at all. I'd be the one May that uses dolphin only 10% of the time. XD

yeah i usually get wrecked by johnny asuka and axl. could be a skill issue but i feel like may gets zoned pretty hard. if i get them in the corner i can usually pressure them to death but at mid range i struggle very hard to get in
Johnny is a bit of a rough matchup for May because May loves to counterpoke and Johnny's pokes are a bit hard to do that with. According to Rating Update (down since March, mind you), the May-Johnny matchup is 55/45 in Johnny's favor among the top 1000 players, which with such a large sample is statistically significant. So it's not just a skill issue.
A reminder to Strive players that GG Strive has not been a competitive game for 3 years. The whole meta in this game is cheap brainrot gorillas or broken characters with autopilot mode for 3 seasons in a row. Balance simply doesn't exist. Gorilla STRIVE- shame of gg series.
