Nope, with Kelli leaved the charm and I left with her. For this sort of mood I’m thousand times more in search of muse, Radiohead or smashing pumpkings bands..
I really believe it was due to them losing steam from ditching Kelli. By this point there were PLENTY of alty angsty UK singers knocking about -- Gavin Rossdale from Bush, Brian Molko from Placebo etc. Established fans from the first record felt pissed off and lost interest because they liked Kelli. This version of Sneaker Pimps just faded into obscurity as a result. I would say it was one of the worst decisions a band has made...I don't really think there's a comparison where a band just destroyed itself overnight due to jealous members firing the lead singer.
I love both Kelli and Chris, they’re both amazing in their own ways. When I watch these videos I picture what it would be like with Kelli singing beside Chris. They shouldn’t have fired her, they should have let her be an alternate/backup vocalist!
They had Kelli working on b-sides for the first album. No reason on the second album Chris couldn't have done some b-sides himself or done side projects. The two of them could have even shared vocal duties on stage like the Beatles and Oasis. Dumb. If they had criticisms for her on stage performances, she's clearly the sort of person who would have been receptive to improvement. As she described it, (I'm paraphrasing) she was an easy-going pothead at the time and they were cokeheads. I think that has a lot to do with it. Splinter is a good album, but listen to Kelli's b-sides and it's clear something great was on the horizon for all of them together if they worked through their differences. Now, what do you know, they're using female guest vocalists. Snake River Conspiracy did the same sort of stupidity and then eventual hiring of another gal. He's dead, though, and can't repair SRC. The Pimps are still kicking (pun!) and should make a public apology and get back together with her. Fans are pushovers for reunions and makeups.
@@zenvultra Yeah. Goofy. If they get back together, they should also form a band where everyone helps out on everything and the credits for writing and production go to "Sneaker Pimps". None of this credits like "Corner, Howe" only. SRC wasn't giving their vocalist much money also with they way they credited stuff, and she was barely even making anything during touring, so she lawyered up.

This was the best Sneaker Pimps era in my opinion! ❤ Splinter is such an incredible album ~ Their best work.
Agreed

but nevertheless you're here in this comment section@@nusmacronus
Really have you heard of Kelli Ali
Naaaaaa
Still watching May 2024.
It's so cool to hear Chris performing the early songs!
Gimme a low five! 🤩😍
‘cause I can’t help myself…
It's incomprehensible why this great band and Chris didn't have the worldwide success they deserved.... 😢
because without Kelli they're just a missed Muse ego smelly
@@nusmacronus Yeah, for sure. You really understood everything, you...🤦🏻♂️

Yes, I think yes, no doubt about this point.

Because of ego Kelli Ali
Wow. I’m blown away 🔥❤️
This band is greatness in hindsight
such an underrated album

Wow, the creepy guy actually sings Six Underground pretty good…
Low five ❤
Every single scratched note. Magnificent.
Their biggest mistake was getting rid of Kelli.

@@ReticuliCompletely agree. I was gutted when I saw that they got a female vocalist for Squaring The Circle and it wasn’t Kelli

Imagine Depeche Mode firing Dave Gahan...what they did for me is inconceivable..
Depeche Mode is my favorite band, Sneaker Pimps is second, and you’re completely right. It’s an injustice that Kelli was let go 😵💫
They must of got rid of her because the dudes wrote all the songs but everyone was obsessed with her.
low place like home so good
I like the way Kelli Ali sings it better ))
Best song on Becoming X
I don't think kelli could fit into Splinter album. Chris's vocal was so right on the album.
Hmmmm, kind of unsurprising that Noel Feilding played occasionally live as a guitarist
Only when the band were breaking up and Chris was forming IAMX (circa 2004/2005)
I knew it he WAS darker than me after all!
Without Kelly Ali I don't appreciate this band sorry 😨
Dude singer? Nogo for me. Shoulda never dumped the broad
Kelli was 70% the band
it's good, reminds me of uni with donovan mixed with oasis.
So much better when Kelli was in the band. Another band ruined by the ego of a mediocre guitar player.
She was mediocre
If she was mediocre, then this must be pure trash@@lasttime1372
They're all mediocre now. Together they were a force to be reckoned with.
