Alicent wearing the green dress is a statement, her father may have left but it represents she's the beacon of his beliefs now, she stands by her house and his father's beliefs, she's now supporting her son's claim to the throne. With very much subtlety she's rebelling and defying.
she is maybe even signaling to the allies of her house that it is time to prepare for a fight? the way her family reacted to her, like they answered to a call. maybe it was her dress?
@@aikrichter5403 Yes, it was the colour of the dress. She is signalling to everybody that she supports and stands for her house and her children, and not Rhaenyra's (and the Targaryens') claim to the throne. She was calling for all her house's bannermen, and any others that might side with her, to prepare for war and rally to her side. So like said, she is rebelling and defying. She also went from calling Rhaenyra as "princess", to "step-daughter". Slight spoilers: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In the civil war that starts some time after Viserys dies, green will be the colour for Alicent's side in the war, and black will be the colour for Rhaenyra's side. So people and houses will be supporting the greens or the blacks.
Yeah that's probably what they were going for. I still found the whole scene a bit weird, because it is still only a green dress. Even if that stuff with the Hightower and green flames is true (which is a bit of lore they made up for the show), it's still just a green dress, are Hightowers now never allowed to wear green because of that symbolic meaning? The reason why the green dress is actually important... well that would be spoiling it. Let's just say, it was important that it was in the show because fans would rebel otherwise but it's not _actually_ important for the plot. I just found it weird that Rhaenyra wasn't wearing a black dress in that scene, because that's what she was wearing in the books and her black dress was just as important (or unimportant) and Alicent's green one.
Daemon and Alicent entries are very important and symbolic If you look closely it's almost exactly the same everyone stares at them without saying a word like they're scared Also Daemon being the only one to not stand up to Alicent is very symbolic SPOILER To me everyone looks scared when Daemon and Alicent arrived because it's like the war is symbolically starting right before their eyes = Daemon is dressed mostly in black, Alicent mostly in green and Daemon doesn't stand up for her
I think the moments we've seen Daemon unable to perform are when he's actually experiencing feelings. The first time was after the whole situation with Viserys, where he was clearly emotional. The second was after Rhaenyra kissed him back, which made him feel a lot of shit he wasn't prepared for. When it comes to his wife, he was forced to marry her so for that reason alone he would never ever have touched her.
Matt Cole confirmed that he couldn’t get it up. And in the “inside the episode” commentary, he said that he couldn’t get it up because he realized that she wanted it as well; and that he wasn’t in power.
I like to think it’s a combination of both your points, him loving Rhaenyra but also him wanting sexual power. So him seeing her so into it throws him off
since he is supposed tpo have children sometime later,he can perform. but classicaly. if you wonna say somethign mean abotu a man and don't knwo what, you just suggest that his manhood is failing. common trick, and usually not ethical practical to prove otherwise. same like suggesting a woman would not be very selective in the choice of her bedpartners.it sticks, no matter if it'S true or not.
Huge props to younger actors for Princess Rhaenyra and Queen Alicient. This is the last episode for them as the will jump 10 years in the next episode showcases the older actresses. I will miss them as they did such a wonderful job building this story!
daemon really went home to kill his wife so he can marry rhaenyra. viserys told him he couldn’t bc he had a wife.. he went to the vale to get rid of what he thinks is stopping him from marrying rhaenyra. that boy crazy
I'm not so sure about that. After the horse fell on his wife and she was paralyzed, he turned and walked away. It wasn't until she questioned his manhood about finishing and being craven that he grabbed a weapon (the rock) and killed her. If he had continues to walk away she would be permanently injured but alive and he would technically still be married. The writers even mention in the aftershow that no one will ever know if Daemon went back to the Vale to kill his wife. He had to go back because Viserys banished him back to the Vale regardless.
@@finalarbitrator4551 He definitely killed her. Lol I just questioned whether that was his intent for going back to the Vale, which was Viserys command. He killed his 'bronze bitch' but it wasn't because he wanted to marry Rhaenyra.
Okay guys, great reaction to "The Green Wedding" , but I feel like you missed a few subtle cues: 1. Till now, whenever Daemon has been silent, he's about to do something murderous. I'd use Daemon vs the Crabfeeder as an example. 2. Alicent (Queen) is extemely upset that her Father has been sent away after he told the King about the Daemon/Rhaenyra scene and is even more upset as she finds out that Rhaneyra most definitely lied to her while swearing on her mother's grave regarding the same. Alicent had chosen to believe Rhaenyra which led to her dad being demoted. 3. Alicent is now fully alone and Lord Larys (crippled man) took full advantage of that and planted more seeds of doubt against Rhaenyra (Tea taken at night) making her angrier at Rhaenyra. 4. Daemon and Rhaenyra are shameless and I wouldn't be surprised if more people at the wedding saw them about to kiss, which only strengthens Alicent's case against Rhaenyra and her lie about not doing anything with Daemon. 5. Alicent is now fully against Rhaenyra as you could see with her Green dress (calling for war). She is upset at the king for dismissing her father for telling the truth while believing Rhaenyra all this time. She has started to form alliances as you saw with her uncle. 6. And finally, after such a gruesome scene where the closest person to the future King consort (Laenor Velaryion) had his face bashed in by a very emotionally unstable Criston Cole, there was no way in hell they would still have a 7 day feast. While it may not be that apparent, Criston and Rhaenyra are very close as he's been her sworn protector for about 4-5 years and after losing his V card (which is very against Kingsguard rules) and after seeing Rhaenyra not wanting to marry anyone at the time - he basically proposed to her on the boat with a fool's dream. Love the reactions so far!
Who is Lord Larys? What house is he from? Also I thought he is the new Hand after hearing Alicent said he's the replacement of his father. But it turns out the Hand is Lyonel.
@@hazri8758 Lord Larys said to Alicent "Your father is a good man" and she answered "As is yours who took his place". The father of Lord Larys took Otto's place as Hand of the King, not Larys. Lord Larys is Lyonel's son.
I got one question tho, why was Alicent pissed when Ser Criston said to her he was the one fucking Rhaenyra? I thought she'd be relieved since Rhaenyra didn't necessarily lie to her (even if she actually did)
@@DrexPlays yeah he coulda died there after the collapse at then end, then i saw him in the next trailer after... great acting be hard to just kill him off before a time jump. But hes probably got only a couple more episodes as king! 😯
I LOLed so hard when Lola said that "the paramour" is the uncle. Yes it is 🤣 it seems like everybody, except the characters in this series, knows that Rhaenyra's paramour is Daemon (except Harwin. Harwin understand ). Alicent, Joffrey, even Criston think that Criston is the paramour 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
It's GREENS and the BLACKS . The problem with ottos argument is he is the one that put his daughter in danger she is the daughter of the second son of the Hightowers she had no business being queen at all. Corlys would have been married his daughter the the king and his son to rhaenyra. Their wouldn't have been this civil war . Literally its them keeping it in the family. So otto started this issue. While claiming it's better for the realm. He is like tywin they are hypocrites also the peace they are talking about started with a peaceful reign of the old king was his regent who was a woman. So the seven kingdoms wouldn't have revolted when I came to rhaenyra. By preaching that there will be a war to his daughter and it became a self fulfilling prophecy .
Well said 👍🏻that's what I'm saying... People say Otto has a point telling alicent that rhaenyra will have to kill her sons!!like bruh you pushed your daughter to seduce the king & forcing her to marry him to have your blood on the throne, you decide that war happens and rhaenyra will kill her sons just as he decides that daemon isn't fit for the throne constantly disrespecting her & talking shit about him behind his back like a craven he is.. Like.. He has no right to the prince like that, drives wedge between the 2 brothers, when that rumor about daemon & rhaenyra got to him he didn't do his job like people say,he got so excited to tell the king so that he might banish daemon again he didn't think clearly that this will backfire at himself for spying on the princess & got banished bcs of it..
As for alicent I can sympathize with her I know she is being pushed by her father into this but she is not reasonable for holding grudge against rhaenyra, that was dramatic of her, rhaenyra half lied & half told the truth, & alicent doesn't know that rhaenyra indirectly told her father take Otto away but even if she did she shouldn't blame rhaenyra neither viserys, I mean what does she expect? If someone is spying on you & waiting every moment to find a fault in you & make your father stripe away crown princess title from you to make his own grandson inherit the throne. It's Otto's own fault for being a sneaky bitch he is always & what he said wasn't the truth. And rhaenyra won't have to kill alicent's sons as long as they don't stand against her and most lords have sworn loyalty already & they don't dare to stand against her with 10 dragons under their control? So alicent you don't have good reasons to be against rhaenyra & hold grudge against her.. Being angry with her for half lying to her while she first went to get near his father starting the first night of her mother's funeral 🙄
The ending montage was my favorite scene so far. Give me the aesthetics of the red hue of the weirdwood tree glowing in twilight, give me the flickering lights, give me the gloomy ambience of a GoT wedding with an equally gloomy soundtrack & hook it to my veins! The slightly overlooked heartfelt exchange Otto & Alicent had at the beginning was the most significant moment of the episode imo. Otto’s not wrong. You either hope for Rhaenyra’s mercy in the future or you act now. It's the Tywin Jaime "we can establish a dynasty that last a thousand years" moment for the show. The wedding sets up the first chess pieces for Dance of Dragons. *Rhaenyra and Laenor were being told their wedding vows, but it was Alicent and Criston who were getting “married”.*
I like how the seeds had all been planted. Sir Christian Cole is a true believer from a lesser house who felt more than honored to assume his role. Also unlike all the 'tournament knights' he is a real fighter who went to war and killed people. All the games these people play at court go over his head or like in this case disgust him. Paired with a nice dose of naivety and having fallen in love he just snapped. That's good writing.
you guys should pay attention do ser harwin strong (the son of the new hand of the king): he's the one who smiled seeing rhaenyra covered in blood in 1x03, looked amused and let her go after catching her in kings landing with daemon and now in this episode was dancing with her and later punched through the crowd to get to her and carry her out of that chaos.
Great reaction! I'd like to point out that Daemon didn't actually confess to Vyserys last episode that something happend that night between them, he just said like "and why is it such a big deal for you if it did happend". That's a very subtle difference and King already thought him guilty anyway. And also Daemon is a biggest troll in the seven kigdoms and can't pass a chance to rile up somebody lol
He's the commander of the Kingsguard. I think he can kill almost whoever he wants tbh. Edit: My mistake he's not the commander, but he's part of the Kingsguard so I think he can beat up a lot of people if he wants.
@@crepperwlp He is not the commander Jesus lmao, he was admitted into the kingsguard the last and he is the most youngest. After Ser Ryam Redwyne died, Ser Harrold Westerling becomes the new Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.
This is the world of Westeros. In the hustle and bustle, no one saw what happened between Ser Criston and Ser Joeffrey. If one insulted the other, or possibly Ser Joeffrey the princess, then the fight would be entirely justified. And in Westeros you don't interrupt something like that.
It's just an idea and I don't think we'll get confirmation, but Ser Criston is one of the Kingsguard and on watch. It's quite plausible people thought Criston saw a genuine threat and was dealing with it. Ser Joffrey was armed with a dagger and they could claim he was jealous of Rhaenyra for taking Ser Laenor from him and was going to attack her. I doubt Criston would think of this in his moment of rage but due to his position people might not think to arrest him, and later on he or Alicent can come up with this defence.
Ok first off I just have to say as soon as this episode aired I was soooo excited for your guys reaction! If people don’t realize by now, Daemon's true motives center around his feelings for Rhaenyra and those he loves. This episode shows the throne was never what he was truly after, maybe for a moment he considered the power of it all, but he ultimately wants Rhaenyra because he loves her, his feelings emphasized in 1x04 when he couldn't take her virtue (despite his initial motive of upsetting his brother, making it known Rhaenyra and him were seen together in the brothel and corrupting her virtue thus forcing Viserys to wed her to him) that plan got thrown out the window when he realized just how much she truly meant to him and that her feelings were reciprocated as equally as those he hard for her, scaring him for a moment and prompting him to leave her at the brothel because he didn't want to shame her like that. If it was solely power that he was after he wouldn't have taken Rhaenyra's own feelings into consideration, another reason he asks her in 1x05 if her marriage to her cousin is what she really wants. Him binge-drinking and being hungover the morning after was a way he coped with those feelings of wanting a woman he isn't supposed to want but does nonetheless. He could've abandoned Rhaenyra for some whore like she says in 1x04 but he didn't. And him not admitting to Viserys that Rhaenyra and him didn't sleep together, yet still wanting Viserys to wed them together when he says "I'll take her as she is" touched on Daemon and Rhaenyra's earlier conversation in 1x04 about marriage and Rhaenyra's standpoint on not wanting to marry or be subjected to the possibility of dying in childbirth like her mother, which I believe Daemon also recognized was a way he could protect her and keep her safe, not force things on her that she doesn't desire, to truly accept and love her for who she is, not what the realm expects her to become. I mean this man killed his wife and showed up to a wedding he was banished to, solely focused on Rhaenyra the whole time finding an excuse to get on the dance floor with her and speak to her, and was ready to take her away to Dragonstone and wed her right after she tells him to do so as he practically loses control of his feelings for her and is about to kiss her right in the middle of the entire crowd and Rhaenyra's betrothed. If that's not a man in love then I don't know what is.
I suspect they either never posted it or later deleted it because they realized they spent the whole time bitching about incest and it made for a terrible reaction 😂. Seriously, the way they've been whining about this stuff as if they didn't spend 8 years watching GOT is bizarre. They spent literally 8 minutes on the topic at the beginning of episode 3. Guys, we get it. Incest is gross. As is child marriage. Can we move on?
@@WarKrieg if they deleted it it probably wasn't bc it "made for a terrible reaction" but bc they knew y'all would not be able to get over them not being fond of incest or marital rape at all and mentioning it
The Strongs positioned themselves on the side of Rhaenyra; Daemon had words with Ser Harwin Strong and then Lord Lionel Strong signaled Harwin to rescue Rhaenyra during the fight. Alicent now has a protector - Ser Cristen. Alicent has started to assert independence. Daemon has positioned himself to ingratiate himself with the Valyrions by flirting with Laena Valyrion and Rhaenyra both. The sides are starting to coalesce into separate factions. The Greens (Hightower) vs the Blacks (Targaryon).
@@sirimity They are scheming, but at least they aren't playing favorites. They want to be on the inside of both factions because its the hands job to keep things from blowing up. It's something Otto obviously could never do, he could only work to secure his own side.
Sometimes I feel like everyone ignores the elephant in the room. The sides are forming but remind me how many of those things...umm. the big things that fly around and throw fire everywhere...oh, dragons... How many dragons does the green side have at this point VS the black AND white side?
In the first episode, Daemon was upset that Viserys wanted to replace him. Therefore, he could not fully enjoy sex with Misaria. In the fourth episode, there may be many reasons. Judging by the director, Daemon could not finish because he felt that it was wrong, what was happening. He certainly wanted to sleep with Rhaenyra, but, as you say, he stopped. His painful face got me every time. And he just hated Rhea, and he wasn't attracted to her. There are no hints of this in the series, but there is a theory that his wife was a lesbian. That is, to put it bluntly, she could not be wet for him and their intercourse certainly resembled rape. Besides, they got married very young. Daemon wouldn't have gotten the title of a brothel regular if he couldn't do anything. By the way, one more point: I think Darmon only finished off the paralyzed wife, but initially he did not throw the horse on her. Rhea got scared, pulled the reins, and the horse reared up, tipping over. Darmon wanted to leave Rhea, but she certainly didn't want to die long and painfully or live with a disability.
Another amazing episode and what an ending!!!! My favorite show currently!!! I absolutely adore your reactions!!! Always lovely and beautiful you two. 🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As Martin said - there is no one here everyone would like. Each character has something on their conscience. You have to choose a side. I chose Daemon. His faith in the Targeryen legacy and strenght speaks to me. He may be a prick, but with charisma.
Yes, I felt sorry for Viserys. He knew things were going to get out of hand when Daemon entered the hall. And then Alicent's declaration of war. Such a tragic character.
I do not believe Alicent is jealous. She is religious (Faith of the Seven) and it was a shock to her what Rhaenyra did, that's why she got upset. Now finding out that Rhaenrya lied to her, she feels betrayed, especially because Rhaenrya swore upon her dead mother. Not to mention, all this caused her father to be dismissed as Hand. Otto is not a good person but he is still her father.
There is a little bit of jealousy for sure but remember rynaerea was are only friend in King's landing and ryraeana couldn't trust her despite her supporting her even to the detriment of her father. I feel like rynaera will make a poor leader. She couldn't try recognise that her friend had no choice in the marriage to her father and try to keep their friendship. Behaved like the classic only child
I’m honestly sad that Milly is leaving. Personally, her chemistry with Matt is absolute fire and it won’t be the same with the older actress, even though I’m sure Emma will do a good job. I just haven’t felt so in love with a ship like I am with Matt and Milly in this. Incest be damned. I love them so much.
Emma is such a bad actress, he/she/it has almost no facial expression, it just looks so bland. Milly was such a good actress and thousand times better than this Emma
5:39 The 7 shows that are in development are not all gonna happen. The idea of development is that you see if the idea might work. It doesn't mean the show is happening. Maybe 1 or 2 of them will happen, maximum. And yes, one of them is called "Snow". Recently it was reported that it would be only a limited series. Like 10 episodes as an epilogue for Jon's story or something. Not multiple seasons.
Royal heirs can't run away. They would be hunted down. It would trigger civil war over the succession almost immediately, and they would be hunted by the king and by Rhaenyra's enemies. Daemon saying that there are sheep more attractive than his Royce wife is pretty rich coming from a man with sheep's hair. It sounds like Freudian slip to me, saying that he was unsatisfied being married to a Royce rather than a fellow Valyrian.
Rather than wearing Targaryan colors Alicent wore the colors signaling war for her house. Meaning she won't hold back anymore... as if she was above it all in the first place.
I like how Viserys just collapsed. He’s like “I had one mf struck the groom and beat another mf to death at my daughter’s wedding, this poor mf is about to get married off hours after his boyfriend died. Fuck this shit, I’m out.”
Criston took out his anger on that dude’s face. Criston, trying to be honorable, expected death for having sex with Rhaenyra but didn’t. Then this stranger comes up to him talking about let’s keep this dishonor going and he snapped. Tried to kill himself and still wasn’t able to. All these noblemen and royals he work for don’t care about honor but he did. So on top of that Alicent has turned someone close to her rival to her side in the coming fight.
The best scene of the episode was Alicent stepping into her character Hightower name. She just declared war on Rhaenyra and anyone like Daemon that will challenge for the crown. It’s her son Aegon
That whole wedding banquet scene was so tense. It seemed like some “red wedding” shit was about to go down. The fact that only Joffrey was killed in the end was a bit of an anti-climax. I was expecting some serious carnage, or for Alicent to out Rhaenyra, or for the king to die, or for Daemon to do something crazy. Amazing episode.
Not every wedding has to be the Red Wedding 🙄 if anything they added that death to please the fans, Joffrey is killed by Ser Criston but on a tourney while jousting, not at Rhaenyra's wedding feast
You asked if they could get a divorce (Daemon and Rhea).. rather unlikely fan fact: in the books Daemon asks his brother to cancel their marriage - Viserys dismisses his request.
1:00:00 he couldn't get it up. It was confirmed in a interview “Ultimately, his impotence in this scene is a reflection of the fact that he knows deep down what he’s doing isn’t right,” House of the Dragon executive producer and showrunner Miguel Sapochnik said.
Daemon killed his wife to have her out of the way and marry Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra was mocking his naivety in thinking he can stop the wedding and was daring him pretty much to put up or shut up and take her away. Him inheriting Runestone was an added bonus to killing his wife.
Ser Criston's defining character development so far was that he voluntarily broke his vow of chastity. Taking the definition directly, he's basically the opposite of involuntary celibate lol.
The whole thing with Alicent coming in wearing green is to show he's now playing the game of thrones but she is on the Hightower side. Before then she was just doing whatever he father wanted but now is choosing to follow the path he set out for her
Pretty much every HOTD reactor asks how come Ser Criston Cole wasn't arrested for killing a guest during a Royal Wedding celebration and the answer is simple... he is a freaking member of the KINGSGUARD! I am not trying to insult show only fans but in ASOIAF books it is clear that the Kingsguard have the authority to fight and even kill pretty much anyone who poses a threat to the King and/or to the King's family ( the Royal family ). Ser Criston can simply say that Ser Joffrey attacked the Princess or that he saw him pulling out a knife and going towards the Princess, knife in hand. The King would not only think that Ser Criston was fully justified in doing what he did but he would actually thank him for saving his daughter from a would be assassin. Hell Ser Criston could've killed someone who was actually important like Lord Jason Lannister for example, all he would have to say is that Lord Jason was trying to harm the Princess and even though Lord Jason is head of one of the oldest, richest and most powerful Houses in Westeros, the King would still think Ser Cole was just doing his job especially if Queen Alicent decides to lie for Ser Cole and say that she saw the whole thing and that Ser Cole was only protecting the Princess from an assassin. Also notice how King Viserys's Kingsguards are often acting quite hostile towards Daemon, who is a Prince and the King's younger brother. Ser Joffrey was a nobody, Leanor might be mad about his death but if he dares to make a fuss about this whole thing he would be questioned by the King as to why is he defending a man who was basically a lowly Lord and, in King's eyes, a man who tried to harm his eldest daughter. Leanor would risk revealing that he is gay and in the world of ASOIAF that would NOT bode well for Ser Leanor and his family, especially when you consider that Leanor is marrying Princess Rhaenyra, who is King's chosen heir and therefore the King would never allow his daughter to marry a man who is gay since that would pose a huge threat when it comes to Rhaenyra producing future heirs to take her place one day and continue the Targaryen name.
I agree with Milena about the reasons why daemon didn't go all the way with rhaenyra, because in 1ep when he stops at the brothel, mysaria (the girl who was with him) suggests someone with silver hair
I like how they gave Ser Criston a legitimate reason to do what he is going to do in future episodes. The books didn't quite explain it so I'm glad the show did. What I didn't like was making Criston kill Joffrey during the wedding festivities in front of everyone when he actually killed him in the tourney while they were competing against each other according to the books. Granted that Criston probably did it out of spite, he still had a good excuse for killing Joffrey since they were in a tournament. But going full-on psycho in front of everyone in the most lavish wedding of their time, that would've been unforgivable. That was just something the showrunners did for the shock value and to compete with the Red Wedding. I don't know how Criston could get out of this mess even with the help of Alicent. I guess we shall see in the following episode.
I mean he’s basically a super cop killing a household knight. He’s probably just gonna be presumed to be in the right. Plus we don’t really know how it started exactly. If they both drew their swords that’s basically a duel and someone getting murdered isn’t really a crime
Budgets only stretch so far. Theyve only got a limited amount of time. Just doing the costumes on this show is expensive and horses and jousting are incredibly dangerous and time consuming to shoot. Im guessing something had to give.
Because Alicent can tell him to claim that Joffrey was slandering Rhaenyra regarding Daemon, and Viserys would believe it. The only weird bit is that he and Alicent are both wandering around on their own 20 minutes later.
A lot of ppl question how he got to the garden but I find it to not be contrived. Kingsguard are like the Secret Service, there to protect the king and his family/president and their family respectively. With such chaos on the "dance floor" it stands to reason that he could easily play off what he did as "protecting the princess from Ser Joffrey" seeing as most people there couldnt see how the fight began. Cops get away with murders all the time so it doesnt seem so crazy that he could get away with it. Plus considering that Alicent has a motivation for keeping him alive she couldve commanded the rest of the guard to leave him so she could talk to him after the wedding herself and thats why she found him trying to kill himself
Without a doubt this show is the best show on 📺 by several miles !! And as a book reader I'm happy the show runner's actually showcase the strength of sir Harwin Strong aka breakbones 💪💯
Why everyone likes Kristan (or whatever his name spelled) so much and everyone feels sorry for him? He literally made his decision himself, having plenty of time to think while removing his armour, and then he expects that future Queen will sacrifice her future just so he could restore his proud? Also blaming Rhaenyra in loss of his honor as a White Cloak? She's the reason he got it, if not her he would be just son of a commoner for the rest of his days.
Remember before in public the queen always wore targaryan colours. Now she is clearly wearing the colours of house Hightower. The green declaring she is for her father but also the claims of her son as heir not the chosen heir. Now you have to choose a side the greens/golds or the blacks
I realize that Ser Cristin was protected by plot armor, but he should have been arrested immediately pending an investigation into his conduct. Great review as always!

Yes if we simply say she chosen what to do
Yeah that's probably what they were going for.
@@krystofdayne Or simply after what Alison's father said to her before leaving that she must chose lets say she chose.
Daemon and Alicent entries are very important and symbolic
If you look closely it's almost exactly the same everyone stares at them without saying a word like they're scared
Also Daemon being the only one to not stand up to Alicent is very symbolic
SPOILER
To me everyone looks scared when Daemon and Alicent arrived because it's like the war is symbolically starting right before their eyes = Daemon is dressed mostly in black, Alicent mostly in green and Daemon doesn't stand up for her
A westerosi wedding without a death is considered a dull affair!

So him seeing her so into it throws him off
@@wackybrattyx That's what the director said, the writer said he felt guilty about it. So really, we can interpret it however we want.

I think it's also to give himself something to claim without protest, since it seems what he wants isn't happening anytime soon
@@pmizzle2010 in mind he went back to kill her so he can be with rhaenyra

@@finalarbitrator4551 He definitely killed her. Lol
I just questioned whether that was his intent for going back to the Vale, which was Viserys command. He killed his 'bronze bitch' but it wasn't because he wanted to marry Rhaenyra.
Of course Viserys wasn't happy with Alicent interrupting. Not only is he the king, he's also in the middle of a speech. Its highly disrespectful.
If I remember in episode 2, Daemon said his marriage wasn't his choosing so likely its the same with Rhaenyra, he was force into the marriage.
Hey Milena & Lola, where is episode 4? I can't find ep 4 of house of dragons on your channel. was it taken down or am I missing something?
Okay guys, great reaction to "The Green Wedding" , but I feel like you missed a few subtle cues:
What about the vial of "herbal remedy" the king drunk? Seems like his death was hastened.
I got one question tho, why was Alicent pissed when Ser Criston said to her he was the one fucking Rhaenyra? I thought she'd be relieved since Rhaenyra didn't necessarily lie to her (even if she actually did)

Daemon was the only one in the whole room who didn't stand when Alicent came in.
At this point, Daemon's purpose in the story is only to deliver a premature death to the king. Poor dude is so stressed 💀
Daemon is seriously The Joker. A true agent of chaos. I love him. Lol
" in front of everyone, in front of everyone" hahahahahahahahahha YES, THINGS WORK LIKE THAT WITH DAEMON 🤣
Where is House of the Dragon Season 1, Episode 4. You seem to have skipped from 3 to 5.

@@the_crypter Oh true true, my mistake. But still, he's pretty high up being part of the kingsguard.
I doubt Criston would think of this in his moment of rage but due to his position people might not think to arrest him, and later on he or Alicent can come up with this defence.
where is 1X04 ??
Google search shows that it got copyright struck by HBO sadly
If that's not a man in love then I don't know what is.
so ok that make‘s sense, but? why didn‘t he do it than?

The Strongs positioned themselves on the side of Rhaenyra; Daemon had words with Ser Harwin Strong and then Lord Lionel Strong signaled Harwin to rescue Rhaenyra during the fight. Alicent now has a protector - Ser Cristen. Alicent has started to assert independence. Daemon has positioned himself to ingratiate himself with the Valyrions by flirting with Laena Valyrion and Rhaenyra both. The sides are starting to coalesce into separate factions. The Greens (Hightower) vs the Blacks (Targaryon).
The greens also have Targaryens
I’m honestly wondering if the Strongs are even more scheming than the Hightowers, one son is helping Rhaenyra and the other is helping Alicent.

Hey where is episode 4 at??
HBO took it down w/ a copyright strike.
And SPOILERS Daemon will have children, six, if we count miscarriage (four is we not)

i've never liked cole anyway, but then again, i read the books 😆
Like 10 episodes as an epilogue for Jon's story or something. Not multiple seasons.
You ladies absolutely LOVE Daemon/Rhaenyra HAHAHA!

I like how Viserys just collapsed. He’s like “I had one mf struck the groom and beat another mf to death at my daughter’s wedding, this poor mf is about to get married off hours after his boyfriend died. Fuck this shit, I’m out.”
Daemon can perform he just can't "finish". He has a very specific appetite. You will see.

All these noblemen and royals he work for don’t care about honor but he did.
So on top of that Alicent has turned someone close to her rival to her side in the coming fight.

Daemon killed his wife to have her out of the way and marry Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra was mocking his naivety in thinking he can stop the wedding and was daring him pretty much to put up or shut up and take her away. Him inheriting Runestone was an added bonus to killing his wife.

Some people call Cole an incel, what an absurd society we live in.
It's basically a buzzword lol. 99% of people who use that word aren't serious people.
Ser Criston's defining character development so far was that he voluntarily broke his vow of chastity. Taking the definition directly, he's basically the opposite of involuntary celibate lol.
simp is more accurate
Piece of Sh** is a more apt name for Criston Cole
The whole thing with Alicent coming in wearing green is to show he's now playing the game of thrones but she is on the Hightower side. Before then she was just doing whatever he father wanted but now is choosing to follow the path he set out for her
Funny, the episode begins with the ending of a marriage, and ends with the start of another. Both involving Targaryens and death.
Alicent walking into the hall and the comment about peakon of Hightower must be among my favorite moments of all GoT 🔥🔥
Stockholm syndrome I guess.
Not the best ofcource.. but it literally gave me goosebumps. I dont why they didnt get the impact of that scene though..!!
No my favourite thing is yall being convinced Viserys is going to die each episode 😂 and it's fair enough, especially in this episode haha
Well just because Alicent basically declared war in this episode and her entrance I'm calling this the green wedding
What a smashing wedding that was!
Views on your HotD and rop reactions just shows which series ppl truly watch and enjoy
@@abcdefghijfghij There are still rules, you can’t just murder someone for slander otherwise everyone would do it.
@@Weeby_historian Do you think this is the Wild West? Someone getting murdered is still a crime here
You know it's a Westeros wedding when someone dies.
Best episode so far, great reaction too. 🇧🇷
She's the reason he got it, if not her he would be just son of a commoner for the rest of his days.
that lannister quote was so spot on. because thats exactly was the queen was doing, preparing for war.
Everyone HAS been preparing for war since the King won’t name a male heir. The only one who doesn’t grasp this is Viserys.
Remember before in public the queen always wore targaryan colours. Now she is clearly wearing the colours of house Hightower. The green declaring she is for her father but also the claims of her son as heir not the chosen heir.
Now you have to choose a side the greens/golds or the blacks
I love the girl on the left’s reactions
where is 4 i can't find it in the videos??? number 4 reaction is missing..
DAEMON SCAPING OUT OF THE PRISON 7:20 RUN MY PRINCE
Rhaenyra is so good at gas lighting daemon, it's just hilarious to watch. 😭 🤣
I realize that Ser Cristin was protected by plot armor, but he should have been arrested immediately pending an investigation into his conduct. Great review as always!
