A woman in my neighborhood met a man in church several months ago. She's a widow of 3 children. Long story short, he said he was a day trader, all his family was dead, and has no children. He told her he could invest her money for her and triple it many times over. He told her he bought her a car and a house and that she can end her lease. That the house was fully furnished and she need not bring anything over. I asked her if she saw the house car etc. She said she had the key. But you know women always like to think you're hating on them when they find a man and you express your concerns. 🙄 She sold all of her belongings and set sail to her new home....only to find an empty lot. Never responded to her numerous phone calls and hasn't heard from him since. This happened April 30th. Might be the same dude.

Definitive1 I’m not impressed by any means, just making an observation that the individual they’ve described has all the traits of someone who has done this multiple time and is a professional. Whether he’s scamming women or men is irrelevant, I’ve never been a fan of the scamming thing but I also don’t knock someone for being at a certain stage in their life.
Maybe he will grow and change later, maybe he’s stuck in his ways, that’s down to him, I also said if it’s true because I don’t like making assumptions without knowing both sides.
It’s easy to pass judgement when we don’t know the individuals situation & when there’s little to no context.
Also the idea that because you can hustle well in one field means it would automatically translate into success in another is false. I used to hustle & I decided to go legit and start investing in business, most of them failed in the long run, it’s only now that I’m seeing great results, many of my partners couldn’t make that transition, they’re great street hustlers but not necessarily great legitimate businessmen.

Ramona makes an excellent point. Being expected to be on the lookout for red flags and warning signs is overhyped and puts the pressure and blame on victims, instead of the perpetrator. This man was clearly a highly skilled conman running game on countless people for decades. He knows every trick in the book. How can the average person who is in a relationship with him or not, be expected to figure out that someone like that is a master scammer?
I cannot take someone dating someone without knowing his name. Won’t blame the victim, and she needs to take action (like she is doing now). I pray she wins this fight. However, please know something about people you date (at least their real name).

A woman in my neighborhood met a man in church several months ago. She's a widow of 3 children. Long story short, he said he was a day trader, all his family was dead, and has no children. He told her he could invest her money for her and triple it many times over. He told her he bought her a car and a house and that she can end her lease. That the house was fully furnished and she need not bring anything over. I asked her if she saw the house car etc. She said she had the key. But you know women always like to think you're hating on them when they find a man and you express your concerns. 🙄 She sold all of her belongings and set sail to her new home....only to find an empty lot. Never responded to her numerous phone calls and hasn't heard from him since. This happened April 30th. Might be the same dude.
I believe her and feel sorry about this situation. Maybe the next woman won’t be used. Thanks for telling your story.
