They might not intend for kick to be profitable, if it’s backed and owned by the gambling company they might consider it a marketing expense. When I worked as a manager in the seafood department for Hannaford super market the first thing I was told is how the department is not profitable and it actually loses millions of dollars a year. The reason the corporation excepts the loss is because it gets customers in the store. They don’t want them shopping somewhere else for seafood, so that loss is considered an operating expense. The question is will it generate enough gambling traffic to cover the streaming loss and still stay profitable.
Worst case scenario the percentage changes on what streamers get. It will end up being like netflix Profit to Cost as you've said. Maybe it will make Twitch be a little more giving in the future too to compete.

All games you can play in a casino are "rigged" more or less, explaining this word basically means that your statistical chance of winning should be slightly below 50% , say 46% chance of winning and 54% chance of losing. While in short term, yes you can win and yes you can lose if you would to play over 5 figures of rounds , so at least 10.000 rounds we return to those statistical numbers of below 50%. Now a little side note about card counting in black jack. Various strategies in card counting can increase your statistical chance of winning to about 51-52% ( at the best ) which doesn't sound like much and yes, you again have to play those 10.000 rounds in total to reach those statistical numbers but overall card counters do earn money , but consider what stakes you risk every game and that casinos do have countermeasures against card counting ( actually a lot of strategies like no entry on a running game, half deck or quarter deck shuffling or recognizing bet patterns etc. ) Why do casinos still offer black jack? Because there are very very few card counters and the industry still earns billions every year just with that one game from people who do not card count. Gambling itself is huge, huge enough to take losses from people who "cheat" the system which should make you laugh considering casinos cheat on you the moment you enter them because all games are designed to make you lose.

@@muufle I wouldn't say hate crimes are minimal tbh, we also don't know where it'll lead (I think if you let someone capable of doing such things lead a country, the results won't be to our liking and might ramp up to a devastating scale) But I do like your comparison and I also agree that things will probably get worse on Kick over time
@@PvtDamion I still think the point is a bit on the miffed side to be honest considering the law used to account for such, with any degree of murder having the death penalty, selling drugs(usually poor ppl being left no choice) being able to put people in jail regardless of age and all of that stuff. Plus I'm pretty sure people with a criminal record aren't allowed to be a president, though there are plenty republican, liberal, conservative and democratic (both sides of the political spectrum) politicians with criminal records, which we probably should stop happening but being Canadian, we got our own political issues to worry about, haha. All in all, just because one is worse than the other, doesn't excuse the crime, but I don't think a hate crime is even a possible fraction for the scale of an entire race's genocide even if that initial hate crime caused the genocide hundreds of years down the line. I don't believe the cause of action is ever co-related to the action itself, especially because I believe in philosophy such as the butterfly effect. By the way, this isn't an argument or anything, I just think the discussion is interesting so I wanted to continue it, I could be completely wrong and I sound very "What I say is fact" but that's just the way I talk, hope this doesn't rub you the wrong way.
So I see there's some people defending Trainwreck and Kick but also some good opinions. Firstly, Harris has a point. The highest viewed streams on Kick are with no doubt Slots.. with the obvious being League. Trainwrecks claim of 95% take going to streamers is because Kick will have no problem making that with Stakes backing due to the fact that it is essentially going to pay streamers with gambling $$ and whatever is made from what they make through crypto. Here's the next thing, what Harris is expressing is to research. As with all streaming platforms that try to rival Twitch, the thing about making decisions from a business standpoint when you are switching to a platform from a platform to essentially carry your brand over to, if you don't first learn about it, you risk damaging your brand because of 1. Some of your viewers might not join you, and 2. The fine print may or may not be as it's perceived. Personally, I don't think Kick will attract that much of an audience or new streamers. I honestly think that it'll attract mostly gamblers (again, look at the most viewed category on Kicks), and that's perfectly fine. But I don't see it growing into a full-blown Twitch competitor because of that.
Look guys keep in mind these bigger streamers live off the income earned from platforms like twitch, so don’t be surprised when a big time twitch streamer disses another competing platform!
I love your videos man it has helped me set up a lot of my equipment, one thing I'm struggling with though is the quality on youtube, can you make a video about how to make the quality better on youtube? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with the settings on OBS
Great video, Harris. Been a fan for a long time. Can't say the same for that mic you were using. Not sure what kind it is, but it sounds....bad. Anyway, thank you for the great content, as always.

Hey Harris. Big fan, Love your content. I was wondering if you caught the latest interview with Eddie where he states that Kick is not owned by Stake but just have similar investors. I thought it was an interesting interview and would love to get your perspective on his comments.
is your streambeats originals non copyright or is it jus the streabeats because i really like the song kill it anyway and would like to use it in my stream intro
I really commend Harris for his consistent honesty when it comes to creating content that could influence lives. When it comes to purchases of gear, or recommendations, he doesn't tread lightly, because he knows how much of an impact that recommendation could make on someone. So for that, props.
People who are getting righteous where the money is coming from. Amazon and Google aren't exactly pillars of society. Gambling isn't going anywhere (watch TV commercials lately, all sports leagues are now adopting it instead of banning it). Twitch is dying a slow death, and until RUclips actually changes how you can even navigate streams and the UI...it won't be as popular as Twitch is (for streaming as a small streamer). In fact, if RUclips just cloned how Twitch chat and emotes worked. I think they would instantly kill twitch off. Not sure why they haven't done so. I like to gamble occasionally (poker, online slots or table games). I set limits and know that any deposit to a gambling site I should consider that money gone...because in the long run I will lose. Do I care if you like to gamble at all?? No, I do not. Drinking is far more harmful to society yet its accepted. I think if Kick wants to pay 95% and they can do it...then hell, take advantage. Especially if the site grows to a point, you can grow faster than you could on twitch or YT (if you are a small or new streamer). Trainwreck is a mouthpiece and in fact he's only a paid advisor to help them with stream stuff. Why should anyone care if it looks the same as twitch. If it works don't fix it. Also, I feel the familiarity will help it grow faster. If you want better insight to the actual website, I'd watch a Devin Nash video.
Ill tell you this booohooo pop off or don't. Nevada isn't going anywhere kick isn't going anywhere You should you should understand this concept by now

Maybe this will give people a fair shot. Only time will tell.
I set up a kick account, the next day I went to log in and the page was gone, email not listed, but name and avatar was still up. customer service is a pain in the ars.
Lmao the bad news sounds great, im not a fan of gambling but kick sounds fucking great!
It's always a bad sign when advertisement starts with cracking down on others; being less bad than someone else doesn't necessarily make you good.. And there's always a catch. Great video Senpai! Hope you have helped some avoid a potential mess
There are plenty of negatives to point out about twitch tho
@@chronicmayhem I'm not saying there isn't, but it's also not the point. It's like doing a hate crime and trying to BS yourself out of repercussions by saying the Nazi's were worse, it's just misplaced and a bit stupid
@@PvtDamion i think its better to use the comparison that its like saying the soviet union in the cold war wasn't a bad country because germany was worse
the comparison you chose honestly makes it seems like kick's crime is minimal, where I would quite literally say they're equally bad, and I can call that kick will get worse than twitch over time.
I was waiting for your video but already visited kick and saw very weird stuff there, I'm glad you made a video for the same
What was the 'weird stuff' you saw there about five months ago
Rule #1 The house always wins… those businesses aren’t operating for free.
Look guys keep in mind these bigger streamers live off the income earned from platforms like twitch, so don’t be surprised when a big time twitch streamer disses another competing platform!
what song is this from streambeats? (good video btw)
I love your videos man it has helped me set up a lot of my equipment, one thing I'm struggling with though is the quality on youtube, can you make a video about how to make the quality better on youtube? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong with the settings on OBS
Ik there's some sort of catch to kick but googling comes to basically nothing
Great video, Harris. Been a fan for a long time. Can't say the same for that mic you were using. Not sure what kind it is, but it sounds....bad. Anyway, thank you for the great content, as always.
You should have pulled an sm58 out of your back pocket at the end and dropped that.
Slots are not even gambling, it's straight up scamming.
When in a casino play craps it has the best odds
I'ma see ya'll on kick!
Twitch isn't profitable because their rules suck.
lmao that outro
Didn't know all this, thanks for letting everyone know.
4:32 AWS flat out offers the Twitch video CDN as a product
Love that thumbnail lol.
They bought the code from Amazon. Amazon sell the twitch package essentially. Trovo did the same thing. None of these sites will make it . RUclips is KING
It’s videos like this that make me glad that I have a full time job and get to make gaming videos just for fun.
Hey Harris. Big fan, Love your content. I was wondering if you caught the latest interview with Eddie where he states that Kick is not owned by Stake but just have similar investors. I thought it was an interesting interview and would love to get your perspective on his comments.
Sounds like you're right. Gambling is terrible which is why it's forbidden by God. It literally ruins lives.
Streamers on kick that don’t gamble are the rotisserie chicken of Cosco
Hear me out Harris, I want to buy you a mic arm for Christmas.
I'm glad someone said it...
3:41 For 22 million dollars a month, I'd sell out too.
kick literally looks like a twitch recolor.
btw i have a vod channel not to only upload the vod .but i ben thinking's streaming there .without affecting this little channel
Could we get a update video on Kick sometime in the future? A lot has changed in 3 months.
And not for the better
@@HRM.Hof course it has
He’s too scared to admit he’s wrong he won’t do it
Kudos for making this video.
Interesting..
1:25 the pause killed me! 😂😂
They can simply sell ads to the none gambling content.. hence they won't be losing much 🤷🏾♂️
is your streambeats originals non copyright or is it jus the streabeats because i really like the song kill it anyway and would like to use it in my stream intro
same lmk if you find it
You’re trying to convince me not to go to kick, but everything you’ve said has convinced me more.
hes usually good at doing that
ROFL AGREED
1 week in and moving to kick was the best thing I did. Made more money in one week than my last month on twitch
@@dylz7 damn congrats, think I might give it a try
@@dylz7 congratulations
W intro!❤
I really commend Harris for his consistent honesty when it comes to creating content that could influence lives. When it comes to purchases of gear, or recommendations, he doesn't tread lightly, because he knows how much of an impact that recommendation could make on someone. So for that, props.
ya but hes wrong. kick rules/
@@Seanysaurus hi is liar and buthurt crybully XD
i hope it's for another video cause this one wasn't really that commendable in terms of honesty. at most it's just bog standard information gathering.
Nevada isn't going anywhere kick isn't going anywhere You should you should understand this concept by now
"I am not gonna drop it"
Apparently there's no delete or deactivate account button. Isn't that not following GDPR?
Gambling is disgusting.
My parents gambled away their life savings for retirement. Now I am stuck taking care of them and subsidizing them. It has limited many things I would like to accomplish.
Thank you for this message.
Your extreme sense of ownership and responsibility is likely to pay off, at some point. Keep cool.
Move far away as quickly as possible, change your phone, never look back. You don’t owe them shit.
@@DrewMaw Easier said than done of course, but this is absolutely accurate.
@@DrewMaw depends on the circumstances.
I can’t imagine your relationship with your parents is any good if you feel that way in general.
Mine have their issues but they were great parents growing up and they don’t gamble anymore.
I already have plans to set them up somewhere they can be financially independent, I would never just dump them and run.
@@DrewMaw Ah yes... their parents brought them into this world raised him... but they don't owe them anything...
But I get it... you had a terrible childhood and terrible parents, so that must mean everybody experience the same thing...
i dont gamble. Why? because by the time i win something i've already put 5-10 times MORE money into the gamble
Harris, this is a great and really important video. Thanks for putting your neck on the line to put this out there.
Im taking my 1st break in years .and floodgates open.btw been enjoying the world cup
Why are people so concerned about what others do with their own money?
Welcome to natural selection. Let it play out.
7:14 "I'm not gonna drop it. That's a nice microphone."
What microphone is that?
But but but train frequently played a PSA telling his viewers "do not gamble, you will lose". surely someone that serious about stopping people from gambling wouldn't then partner on a new site designed to get people to gamble...this has to be a misunderstanding.
Facebook keeps striking me for DMCA when I use any Streambeats track on my videos or reals. And so far there is zero option to dispute
I'm having the same issue with TikTok, and I have no idea how to contact Harris to find a solution. Somebody is claiming his music just by doubling up the title. For instance I used 88 MPH Disco, adn the claim is that the song is "88 MPH Disco.88 MPH Disco"...
great content, good research.
