    I love this interview more than all of his recent ones. They had everyone join in on the conversation-Aaron, Eduardo, Sona, Matt, Adam (laughing in the back) and you could tell Reggie was just vibing with it. He seemed comfortable, probably because he doesn’t come off as the conversation domineering type and more of the coolest guy in the room who everyone wants to impress or make laugh.

    Conan and Reggie should do a 3 hour podcast where they talk about just 80s movies. I'd watch nonstop.

    Now I NEED a Reggie Watts song about the 5th-wall breaking girl who’s the daughter of Ferris’ parents!!

      In lieu of that...
      She's got a narrative she's embarrassed to share with us.
      She's the product of the marriage of the parents of Ferris's.
      There it is.
      It practically writes itself, but I'm just procrastinating sleep by typing this comment, so I should leave it there.

    THIS.WAS.FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!
    I'm of the 80's and all this resonated. Including what people thought of computers. This was so much fun. And that story about the Ferris Bueller parents - WOW!!!! There's a great example of a small world.

    I met a guy from California on a bus over 15yrs ago. His graduation party (whatever they’re called in the US) was in the ‘garage’ of Cameron in Ferris Bueller. It was a living room. It had nothing to do with me but it’s a favourite memory because of that movie too.

    I wish that they still made movies with that Weird Science knowledge cause if they did it'll be lightning striking the smartphone and the NFT would come to life in sort of a Ted type of way. Ted and Totally Killer are the last two I can think of carrying that nonsensical yadda yadda yadda type of storytelling for science fiction 😂

  • @drebone1986
    @drebone1986 10 месяцев назад +2

    That storytelling was always crazy in sci-fi cause the world doesn't understand enough yet so you get stories like John Carter a man from Earth breathing on Mars or lightning equals life via the Skateboard kid which it also flies 😂😂

    As a kid when he broke the 4th wall and talked about the guy that would get walked all over and not respected, I could feel the truth in that. Decades later, in the extras on the DVD....it was a true story. I was right, it was truth and truthful advice.

    I saw "Weird Science" in a movie theater as well. I have a different take on the story. The guys just thought that they created the woman with their computer. She was actually some sort of sex angel who was trying to help them. Discuss...

    Cool story, but when you do the math there's no way that girl is in her early 20's. Assuming the actors were the same age as the characters, that would be the equivalent of Ferris getting a new baby sister when he's in his 30's. And if you look up the bios of the actors, they got divorced in '92, so the girl has to be at least 31.

    The Gorgeous Lady in the story told it "sheepishly" because it was a lie she told her boss. Lyman Ward and Cindy Picket were divorced in 1992 after having 2 kids. Or Conan was off by a lot in his age guessing.
