@svedman of course they are powerful, but that can't be the reason why people pull over. If that would be the case, then people in the US would pull over best (and that's really not true): In the US emergency vehicles use synchronal or alternating head light flashers / wig-wag lights, aktually the same like like in Norway. In Norway people pull also over when these lights are switched off (made several response vids in Trondheim and Oslo, just search for them)
just great how poeple move over for emergency vehicles, even when you have the siren swithed off; in my eyes the cars pull over even better than in Germany (and of course much much better than in the US). nice vid, keep 'em coming
@megrune94 yeah true. We get tought pulling over at driving school lessons. So in Germany people normally pull over, some don't. As I lived in Norway I also saw that you guys pull over even better, in a kind that vehicles going code 3 get trough very fast. In the US you actually see most people pulling over very late, no respect towards responding vehicles :(
@EnjoyFirefighting Here in Norway, us regular drivers respect the authority a lot! So when we see those blue's, we instinctivly pull over because we know something important is happening somewhere and a emergency crew is needed there. We get teached at the DMV that the seconds are critical and if you ever have been in accident or a situation needing such crews you respect them even more..
@EnjoyFirefighting We even get tought by either driving school or parents that when a code 3 emergency vehicle comes in the opposite lane, you slow down a little and drive more in the shoulder. This is because when a emergency vehicle travels at great speeds, the road seems narrower. But even though we seem to pull over a lot more and a lot better, any emergency official can tell you that there are a lot of people who don't even see the blue lights in the rearview mirror or hear the siren..
@megrune94 true, true. And it is always better when you get into the situation to pullover during you driving lessons, instead you just get told how to do it. I was lucky that in some of my driving lessons the FD or EMS was going code 3 and I had to pull over (my driving instructor was actually bit amazed how fast I reacted and how good I pulled over ^^) Well: Learning by doing
