I got these for Christmas on sale they were $160, I love the shoe, I do feel that it’s a little wide for my foot, when running I didn’t feel my foot moving around much, it felt fast and I love the cushion! Great video !
I agree about the paces. When I did a warm up mile at slower pace it felt clunky. Once I put it into faster paces, the plate and foam all worked together for cruising at those faster paces. Definitely recommended for tempo runs, less for intervals since it feels strange when slowed down.
I agree but I feel the shoe was far too heavy/ l bulky to handle the rigors of marathon workouts which is the intended use of the shoe. So while I do like the v1 more I think the v3 is better for its intended use
Pricieing of New Balance is very confusing, in Au there is very small difference between this and elite v4 - $30aud Can you tell me if you in Australia then what is the point if buying this one aa training companion to elite, assuming your race shoe will be elite and you think of getting trainer v3 for build up ? Why not to get only elite and do training and race in it ?
So the elite is going to be a little more aggressive overall and less durable potentially. With a racing shoe you want to save the “best miles/km” of the shoe for race day so you’d only want to run in it a few times prior to race day. Many people will use their race shoes from a prior race for speedwork and work outs after wards though so it then becomes your “training companion” in that sense. If you’re someone who is going to need a little more support or a little more shoe to get through your training block though then the sc trainer may be better for that purpose
Thank you for explanation, and yes it will be a bit more aggressive but it got my interest because reviews of v4 say it's less aggressive/speedy than most of super shoes... - as per durability not sure about NB but i think we got long way from days when super shoe fell apart just after taking it from the box (joke) my limited experience- only adidas pro 3 and saucony pro 3 shows otherwise . Also if trainer has the same foam as rebel then bounce could go away prematurely, at leat couple of revievers say that about rebel, but couldn't find long term review of trainer And yes i get that you want shoe to be as fresh for race day - but again the ones I have are feel exactly the same as day one (or better) after couple hundreds km .... even though when price so close between tgem why not to get 2nd pair of elite if it end up being exactly what I need/like ... Also I like minimal upper / support for every day shoe Would be good to find between the shoes - trainer vs elite - if you keen to make that vid 😁
I love the V1. It was a lot of fun.
Such a great shoe
Just got the elites and they are incredible.

New Balance SuperComp Trainer V1 is one of the most fun shoes ever.
The Fuelcell in the V1 is much more comfortable/fun than V3.

I really wish New Balance had more colorways of this shoe 😕
Kind of surprised they didn’t but none of the sc trainer models have had many options
