Dental Rescue Program at Smile Solutions

Throughout September, Smile Solutions partnered with the Australian Dental Health Foundation in assisting asylum seekers to receive much needed dental care. Eight Smile Solutions dentists as well as their nursing teams, donated their time to this wonderful cause to treat patients who had not been able to visit the dentist for up to 10 years due to being in detention.
Two participating Smile Solutions practitioners Dr Rogina Torabinejad and Dr Peter Henderson, discuss the importance of the initiative, alongside patients and their case worker Nina Field from the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.
“This program allows patients to feel like themselves again, it allows them to be able to use their teeth again and to be able to be confident in their smile.”
