What's your favourite Adventure game of ALL time? 😇🖱👌 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= More Amiga Games: tinyurl.com/AMIGA-GAMES My Top Picks: tinyurl.com/CCGS-BEST-GAMES
My favourite "adventure" game would have to be Mercenary Escape from Targ. Hands down. I know Damocles was bigger but the original Mercenary was amazing for the C64.
one of the few Amiga games I completed. Completely drew me in. The pc version has a different but still very likable moody and suitable soundtrack I remember showing this to my dad who had just seen the latest pc adventure with full motion video and trying to convince him it was just as good. It was in it's own way and a totally captivating experience of which wasn't always the guarantee on the Amiga. Highly recommend people give this game a shot even if they're not into a point an click environment as it's a surprisingly great and immersive time spot on once again
This is one that definitely deserves its place in the Amiga game hall of fame. This one brings back so many memories. I wanted to be an animator in my youth and was fascinated by the animations in this one. And spent hours trying to recreate similar animations in Deluxe Paint. Thanks for reminding me about this game. ❤
Yeah it needs to be recognised as one of the truly great games of the 90s! I loved Deluxe Paint... I'd spend hours trying to create animations of candle burning!! Haha... unlocked a memory for me there 😇🕹️👌
I was Amstrad CPC 464 as a kid but alot of games crossed over with that Commodore and Spectrum. I’m torn between my best days wether it was Amstrad or Amiga or even before that on the Atari, damn just love all those retro moments.
Those days were certainly the best! I never had an Amstrad but I can imagine that it was just as popular as the Commodore amongst many who owned one back in the day 😇🕹️👌
I worshipped this game - with the apartments, the computers, cartridges, keypads - all the useless things you could pick up? it felt like a sandbox to me along with the story elements. The Diary of a Madman was my prized possession! once upon a time. (I had the DOS CD version - it's a talkie!)
YES 😺👍!! I have been waiting for you to review DREAMWEB on the Amiga 😺👍🕹️! In fact, i have never played this game before, but i do remember seeing my friend's older brother playing it on his Amiga 1200 back in the mid 1990's. If i could find this game (CiB) for my Amiga 500, i would be happy 😹👍🕹️. It is also one of the Amiga games, that inspired me to grab into my pens 🖋️🖊️✏️🖍️ and practice for drawing my own art works 🖋️🖊️✏️🖍️ 😺👍. Your video deserves a big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮. Thank you 😸😺👍. Until then... Bye for now 😸👍.
Remember this game. It’s one of those that we completed. Just couldn’t stop playing. Remember that it was quite violent and it ended just like at your video😊
Damn this brings back great memories! Been doing some retro beats / remixes so scouting out some memories. Dreamweb was great and as you say unique for sure! Gonna get some inspiration for my next retro game remix from your channel I think, looks great 👍🏻
Whoa, I Missed this one, I had moved on to the PC by 94 and never got an AGA Amiga. Looks like I missed out, this looks like a gem! Kind of a blend of Hotline Miami and Neuromancer. Nice one to bring up, Cheeky! Looks well worth that thumbs up!
This looks like a very interesting game. I love little point & click adventure games... and this one seems to have a unique vibe that sets it apart from many of the others.
A very unique style and I liked the overhead view perspective... totally different slant from most adventures - and those '18 Certificate' bits were the things we talked about most, back in the day 😇🕹️👌
Early to mid 90s were much more futuristic than today. From our perspective that technology looks primitive, but back in the day it looked like new doors have been opened and anything is possible with imagination. For example, this game, amalgamation of literature and computer art. Something definitely not for the kids, best played in cold autumn nights like this one, in a dark and slightly cold room .
This was definitely from the 'cyberpunk' era of games which were being pumped out quite regularly in the 90s - definitely one to get into when you have a good few hours of 'peace and quiet' 😇🕹️👌
I've always wanted to have a proper go at this game. I only played a demo version of DREAMWEB from a magazine when I was younger. Brillant atmosphere and music. For the life of me, I couldn't remember name of the title until now.
I really liked it. I remember seeing previews and ever since the Amiga Format demo I was always curious until it came out late 1994. it tried to do something a bit different. Playing it from an overhead perspective added to that feeling of claustrophobia mixing with the dark brooding atmosphere as well as the run down used, grubby look of a lot of the locations and the descriptions. I think it was seen more of a risk in some cases, especially it being a much more adult game and the different point of view. Being able to pick up objects, that some might not have had any use I think from another perspective added to its interactive feeling. The mix of the dystopian Cyberpunk setting and paranormal aspects I think worked really well. The music was brilliant. It was highly original and an absolute gem. Also questioning if Ryan really was trying to save the world or delusional and you were playing as a deranged serial killer, imo he was delusional but ultimately he was trying to save the world. It definitely seemed to be a you'll really like or hate it type of game for some, especially I think gamers who might not have played much in the way of darker, especially more adult themed titles. I can understand if it might be too violent for some people, maybe too downbeat or too dark and off putting but Amiga Power giving it 24% was ridiculously low. A few years a go a few people and myself were going to work on a remake but it fell through sadly. I was going to work on the soundtrack and help out but would have really liked for it to have worked out. Would make for a really good TV series or film.
Very atmospheric wasn't it... something that instantly grips you. I think it was the graphical style and the whole '18 certificate' had me hooked as a kid! Haha... I was 13 when this game came out and I remember it well 😇🕹️👌
I'll give any point and click adventure a whirl as it's one of my favorite genres. The Lucasfilm Monkey Island series comes to mind, as does Zak McKraken and Maniac Mansion! Great times! Playing The Secret of Monkey Island with 512K and only one floppy drive was murder, but still worth it. That second floppy made it infinitely more enjoyable though!
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer I always thought Monkey Island could be a very interesting movie or TV show in the right hands, or a massive flop in the wrong ones!
Be amazing if Disney could create it! Seeing as though they now own Lucasarts/Lucasfilm... they certainly have the power to create something awesome from it, even a cartoon/cgi in the same vein as Pixar movies would be great 😇🕹️👌
I was always interested in this game, even got the PC big box in my collection with the diary and all, but never really played it. I should give it a go on the Amiga.
Never heard of this game, looks very interesting. Loved the death animation at 4:52, lol. The sex scene was hilarious to see in a game from that era. It certainly has a Blade Runner / Cyberpunk vibe, it reminded me of Shadowrun for the SNES even though that one has an isometric view... I think there was a Sega Genesis Shadowrun game with a top view that maybe looks even more similar to this, but I never played it. As always, very interesting to discover these cool old games that I never heard about with your excellent reviews.
Great atmosphere, decent graphics considering the limitation of the top-down perspective, gameplay is sub-par. The ability to pick up countless useless items belongs more in an open-world RPG than in a linear point'n'click adventure game, and the puzzle solving in the second half of the game tends to involve using the gun far too much. Still a rather unique title. I'd love to read or even conduct an interview with the creators of this game one day.
For its day, it was absolutely unique. Be good if you ever got that interview with Dodwell, he also worked on loads of games from the GTA series and also LA Noire! 😇🕹👌
Yeah me too... the guy credited with the music was 'Matt Seldon' who, after doing the music for this game left the gaming industry to pursue a career in the music business, which saw him working for bands such as Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine, Glitterbox and DReam! 😇🕹️👌
Get it fired up and let me know what you think of it. I can imagine that if you already enjoy adventure games then you'll not be able to put this one down 😇🕹️👌

I agree with you, a 'must play' for people who are just discovering this game for the first time 😇🕹️👌

This would be the only game that I ever did a walkthrough for - it's available on Aminet :-) Always nice to actually complete a game back then.
Nice job! Tough game... took me many hours to muster through it the first time around back in 94' 😇🕹👌
@@CheekyCommodoreGamer The thing I loved about this game of course is Sparky's Bar.. for obvious reasons if you check out my name lol
Great game, played it on pc. Loved the soundtrack and the atmosphere. Really different than any other point and click adventure back then.
Completely unique, especially with the gore & nudity... a completely different slant on an adventure game 😇🕹️👌

my god I loved this game back in the day... Atmosphere was so intense and sound design perfect.
Superb isn't it... nothing quite like Dreamweb - and I'd love to show off the rude bits in the game to my buddies haha 😇🕹️👌
I worshipped this game - with the apartments, the computers, cartridges, keypads - all the useless things you could pick up? it felt like a sandbox to me along with the story elements. The Diary of a Madman was my prized possession! once upon a time. (I had the DOS CD version - it's a talkie!)

Great game! And loved the gore!
Yeah, superb gore in this one... and a bit of pixellated ditty 😇🕹️👌
I loved this game so much. I don't think I ever completed it but the atmosphere and aesthetic were addictive.
You were compelled to continue just to see what was coming next... superb game 😇🕹️👌
Remember this game. It’s one of those that we completed. Just couldn’t stop playing. Remember that it was quite violent and it ended just like at your video😊
Yeah the ending was a little unfair!! I thought I was doing something wrong when I first played it through 😇🕹️👌
Another absolute banger of a game 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely - one that needs to be played at least once just to appreciate how much of a banger it actually really is 😇🕹️👌
Damn this brings back great memories! Been doing some retro beats / remixes so scouting out some memories.
Dreamweb was great and as you say unique for sure! Gonna get some inspiration for my next retro game remix from your channel I think, looks great 👍🏻

It's actually pretty timeless this game... still brilliant to play even now you're old enough to see the boobies and the gory stuff 😇🕹️👌

I'm not sure about the Amiga version, but the PC version of this is freeware, both the floppy and CD versions!
The CD version is a Talkie :) it's the one I had back in the day
