Great review and discussion. I’ll just say: the HE1000 V2 is categorically one of the BEST headphones I have ever heard. I am a drummer and love quite a few genres of music: Jazz, Fusion, Blues, Big Band, Classic Hard Rock, Progressive Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, R&B, Vocals, Classical, etc.
Do you want to get completely enveloped and lost in your music? This is the headphone for you. Exquisite musical performance, which is my main interest in headphones. The HE1000 V2 nails it.
Hi. What amp and dac are you using what the HE1000V2s ?
@@paolo2795 Not OP, but I use mine on a Drop Liquid Carbon X + SDAC when I’m at my desk and straight off the headphone Jack on an M2 MacBook Air, which is surprisingly close to my dedicated amp. These headphones, while not easy to drive, aren’t overly hard but they do benefit from a little power more. I’ve run them off a phone and the bass was a little lacking but even a cheap amp would do just fine.

Nice knowing that even while not being the newest it still holds it's place near the top for quite a bit of music types, could not watch the whole chill-stream, but i really clicked hoping to see the "leaked" stealth edition that was shown recently of reddit. I guess this is for the future if that thing even exists.
It exists. The official Hifiman website now lists "He1000 Stealth Magnets" version under new arrivals.
Thanks! Looking forward to your suggested EQ for the V2s. I apply some EQ to mine including a 2dB bass shelf @85 Hz, a 3dB boost in the mids scooped out area and a mild high shelf reduction in the high mids/treble.

Thanks for the life streame. One thing that is not taken under consideration is that some people don't use computers as their audio source, some of us have nice transport for cd playback or dedicated music streamer like bluesound node for example and don't have roon.
Which one of the HIFIMAN headphones are the best for producing/mixing/mastering duties ? Driveable when producing also most balanced technical and revealing when mixing/mastering on lower volumes all genres from classical to electronic. From Ananda, Arya, HE1000SE, to SUSVARA ?

I switched from the V2 non Stealth, to the V2 Stealth last week, and can therefore report that the Stealth is an excellent upgrade for just a few €100
I ordered the v2 version but I get the stealth version instead, would you please tell me if it's true that the stealth has a small soundstage or there is no big difference between the v2 and v3 in terms of soundstage?
@@AlaaAdile To be honest, I can't hear the whole line with big or small soundstage anymore. It's a headphone, and shouldn't try to sound like a speaker. This attempt is doomed to fail. What many people refer to as a big soundstage is nothing more than diffuse sound. And that has the disadvantage that imaging and positioning are bad. This is the case with the V2 non Stealth. the sound of the V2 Stealth is significantly less diffuse, with the advantage that imaging and positioning are significantly better (close to Utopia) and that is exactly what is important in order to get a realistic room image/informations (as far as possible with headphones). The Stealth is a clear upgrade compared to the non stealth. in your place I would consider myself lucky.
Is the Stealth version easier to drive?

Great review and nice QnA. Thanks for this. One query though, now as the HE1000 stealth is out and reviews are going around, could you please also help to put your perspective on the differences. I understand that the summary differences would be similar to Arya v2 vs Arya stealth but still if you can tell. If HE1000v2 looks better than stealth than I'd like to get them before their production stops completely. Thanks a lot

I always preferred Arya V2 to the stealth edition. There's something magical about the V2's stage even if it's not always accurate. That thing can put sounds all OVER the place in whatever room you're in. I've since rebought he1000v2 as it's my favorite headphone of all time. (Susvara is such a money pit but amazing). I don't have any interest in the stealth magnet version of he1000v2. I want my galactic soundstage.
I Remember the time... I had He1000 and He1000se for a month, the He1000v2 staging and sound was just the best i have ever never Heard. I wonder now if the stealth V2 would reduce by a Mark the staging, It would be horrible for US all 😂
Now seriously, i see good prices for V2 but the stealth Is newer so i wonder..

1:31:45 telling people to EQ is like doctors telling people to eat less sugar and do more exercise. Most people don't do it because they're incredibly stubborn.

From what I know the old V2 has the same drivers as the Old gen Arya, definitely different than the V3, and slightly different than the V2... The older Aryas and the V2 are quite a bit wider with a generally better Spatial presentation capabilities though less Punchy than the Arya V3... I also do find the V2 to have better Tuning and a slightly better tonal balance than the Aryas especially in the treble region

I'm looking for this too. Can't seem to find any direct comparisons other than the comments that Joshua Valour made a few months ago.
Love the V2, they replaced d8000 pro / empyreans / VC and inspired me to get a susvara later on. These days I'm not in one place as much so can't listen to the susvara as much as I want, so I'm think about selling my susvara/burson timekeeper 3i combo and getting an Oriolus Traillii iem. Susvara is something else tho perfect in every way for me, will be extremely hard to let go.
Its said he1kv2 is 98% of susvara, all those summit fi headphones are severely overpriced.
@@soraflame66 I owned both for over a year, it's definitely not 98% of a susvara. V2 is amazing but has some flaws, while susvara is flawless to me.
nothing will replace my VC, got Arya and kind of know hifiman eggs sound but its totally different from ZMF, more pleasure with well tuned dynamic driver
@@soulfulfool VC is awesome, its just preferance based on the genres I listen to and comfort wise I prefer the susvaras. I hope to be able to audition the Atrium and Caldera on day.

Yes. It's no problem. Not like HE6 or Susvara.
The thing with these egg shaped models is that they look really cool when it's on your headphone stand, but as soon as you put them on, you look like you came from outer space or something. lol
Regardless they do sound really nice though.
How does ist sound compared to edition XS ?

How do you explain the cable sounding different since it's literally impossible?
It doesn't sound different. Also, it's not exactly impossible, and we recently did a video explaining how it could measure differently with certain headphones, but these have linear impedance so it would just be louder or quieter at most

Yes, that's fair. There's a lot of nuance when it comes to different styles of electronic music.
This headphones play brightly only for not enough features of amp. Its one of best model for different metal genres. Such a thick detailed soup with holographic 3d soundstage. The real output features of my amp - 1A and 18 volts. Not fantasies of china watts ore similar box with switching power supply. This headphone really swallow many energy of your devices.
ok take off the hat and glasses to measure comfort...most folks are not that encumbered and your test of comfort wont match as well so you need to cover all the bases is what im saying.
