- Bubble and fly fishing is a popular way to catch all types of fish. Many times, the bubble is often left to slide back and forth like the weight on a Carolina rig. Here I prevent that from happening by rigging a wire through the bubble, thus preventing heavier flies from pulling too much line through the float.
This popular rig is often used in Hawaii. Known as "whipping", it is used for catching surface feeding game fish like poppio and omilu (trevalle) from shore. The bubble enables anglers to cast light weight flies further than fly fishing tackle. It also creates a disturbance on the surface attracting large predatory game fish to home in on the fly. It is also used in Southern California for species like stripped bonita and mackerel. I'm sure there is some use for the East Coast angler as well.
I also like to show how to make the basic loop in wire for spinner baits. Wire twisting is a great way make all sorts of customized fishing tackle. It is also used for jewelry and bead crafts.
Good luck and enjoy the great outdoors!
There’s many videos out there showing on how to break the wire at the end of the wrap.. Do not twist or cut it.

Where do you buy the materials like SS wire, SS beads, etc.?
@@islandcharger4094 The beads are from Ebay or you might be able to find them on Temu. You can get stainless wire from those wire whisks you find at the discount Chinese kitchen supply store or 2 mm stainless steel leader. I hope that helps brah! Thanks for watching! Mahalo🙏
@@islandcharger4094 Walmart is a good source. ruclips.net/user/shortsFhgs3Z7s6zg?si=BtW9JoJ8q0Ssd0rj
