The Queen is dead. She represented an inherited supremacy. Now her son has inherited that supremacy and while people think he's nothing but a figurehead, he's taxpayer-funded in many ways and he gets to view prospective legislation before you or I even hear about it. For some reason when I hear this I imagine WWI a hundred years ago. All the man sees is the horrors of war. Bodies floating in craters, limbs, rats in bodies. Broken men biting their hands trying to cope. Artillery falling constantly and endless death. He has little chance of surviving but it's a wonder that he's alive. He's only alive long enough to be horrified and die in the mud. In the chorus Artillery falls and people are maimed. Friends all dead in front of his eyes. In the chorus I imagine him looking through his rifle but it's empty, the howling screams of the charging Germans fill his heart and it sinks. He lowers his rifle to embrace death alone in the blood soaked trenches. His descendant in modern times has a tear in his eyes in ruins. He opens his arms and nukes fall. The light is so close it nearly blinds him. The blast engulfs him and he disintegrates but he accepted his fate and feels at peace.

The British used to have a proper warrior culture. Up until about the end of WW2 this was very true. These days I can only think of a few examples of a people you don't want to fuck with.

But, as a Swedish person, I am actually terrefied for my own country and our safety.
Our Prime minsiter wants us to be a member of Nato, even though Putin has literally threatend both Sweden and Finland that there will be "consequenses" if we do so.
Call me a drama queen, but I fear for what will happen to Finland and Sweden.
I fear for my life because of this descision.
I actually wrote an e-mail to our govement in order to make them think about this and not rush into Nato.
