Their story still hurts too much. I used to love the show but then Quentin died and my heart broke into pieces. Seeing someone struggle with life so much and later die for a "sacrifice"... I don't know. I used to be in the same mind-space as Quentin when I was a teen so I just couldn't see anything heroic in the scene. For me, it looked like someone who gave up the fight completely and saw a chance to end it, making the whole thing look like a very brave decision instead of a suicide. It reminded me so much of my younger self and all the other suicidal teens I knew back in those days. I remember watching the episode and after the deal was done I felt like a hole opened up under me, memories creeping back like demons. It was affecting me so much in such a bad way I could barely get up in the mornings. The creators had such a high-quality show in their hands and we all really loved it but I don't think they thought this scenario really over. Maybe they forgot how many people across the world watched the show because they could relate so much to Quentin and in him found the comfort character they needed, forgot how much the ending to his story could affect those fans but at least a warning would have been nice from them... Anyway! Sorry for the long blahblahblah, I just started to write and my mind went into overdrive. Thank you for putting their whole story together, the warm and cozy scenes are like bandages even now to my soul!
Thank you for sharing your experience, I felt so lost after his death (I know its a fictional character, but still) and I rarely go back to rewatch the magicians (even tho I loooove their world), we were on the journey with him from the very beginning and then it had to end in such a way... I think I am still not over this and Im still so very bitter that the writers built up Q and Eliot, but didnt even give them a moment together on screen before they broke them forever apart...
Thank you so much for doing this! If you make any more could you just turn down the music a little bit because it was somet8mes hard to make out what they were saying but other than that keep doing what you’re doing! 👍
