I don't think it's healthy to measure our reading habits with booktubers' standards (and I say this to you as much as to myself, having fallen to that trend early days in my channel)... if they want or manage to read a hundred or more books a year, well, good for them!, but I like to feel that even if you don't finish a book, if you jump from one book to another, if you reread a favourite one over and over... you ARE an avid reader! Everyone has different ways of enjoying books. No one should be made ashamed of how 'little' they read. Reading for pleasure existed long long before social media and so called 'influencers' confused people into believing quantity is preferable than quality ;) Hope you managed to get some sleep and didn't catch anything nasty! xx

I absolutely love books, the hard copies. But I purchased a Kindle last year for traveling and to use in a pinch. I love it so much ..... but still a true lover of hard copies.
“If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry” is basically my life motto at this point 😂. I’ve always been an easy crier so whenever I feel like I want to cry and I can’t for whatever reason (ie, in public), I try and make myself laugh instead. It works!!

Since I watch your videos and I connect so well with you and your content, it was really special to see your city and to checkout Powells. I have been wanting to go for a long time ever since you showed it in your videos. In the bookstore, I met a poet who was from out of town. He was taking a picture with his book that was in the poetry section. I asked if he was the poet and he said yes, and then we chatted for a while with his partner and him. Then he signed his book for me, which was really quite special. His poetry book is called “chirp” I went back to camp with books, a fox stuffy for my toddler and one of the iconic yellow powells mugs. I used to live in Washington, and collecting wild blackberries was a yearly occurrence. I’d take my girls out with kitchenware to collect the berries, and some kind of a stick or board to help pull down tall branches. I made blackberry pie, cobbler, and my favorite, blackberry jam. Then I could have that summer taste all year on my toast. I’ve been thinking of trying Tress of the Emerald Sea, so I liked hearing your take on it. Thank you for your friendliness and positivity.

Treasure that blackberry Bush lol. When I was child we had those bushes around our house and mailbox and I didn't quite grasp that its rare. They don't just grow everywhere. As an adult now I dream of having land to plant my own even though I hear snakes love these bushes. It brings me so much nostalgia!! Your smile and how much you enjoyed that made my heart smile. Treasure that blackberry Bush lol. When I was child we had those bushes around our house and mailbox and I didn't quite grasp that its rare. They don't just grow everywhere. As an adult now I dream of having land to plant my own even though I hear snakes love these bushes. It brings me so much nostalgia!! Your smile and how much you enjoyed that made my heart smile. The small details and doing things like these matter. They matter! Thanks for sharing!! On my walks I see some growing on the side of the road and I stop and admire them. They are usually trampled on so I can't pick any...
