Multiple reasons
1. Excessive rainfall
2. Release of dam water
3. Chinese plan to control the flow of Brahmaputra
4. Large flood plain
5. Unorganized construction
6. Lack of proper planning and guidelines
7. Population increase
8. Destruction of river banks and embankments by illegal immigrants
9. Rising of Brahmaputra's river bed
10. Corruption and scams by Brahmaputra Board.
You missed the major reason.
- Village level development without proper drainage system to regulate the flow of water to and from the tributaries rivers.
Most of the flood happening in Assam nowaddays is because of rain water log. Almost all the path for water flow is blocked due to construction of roads and blocking of bridges.
Central & State Government should take measures for these frequent Floods.

Also , Bhutan plays a significant role in the flooding experienced in lower Assam. During heavy rainfall, Bhutan releases a substantial amount of water from its dams and river systems. This influx of water flows downstream into Assam, overwhelming the riverbanks and causing widespread flooding. The sudden release, combined with local rainfall, often results in severe submersion of the lower Assam regions, disrupting lives and livelihoods. This transboundary water management issue highlights the need for coordinated flood control strategies between Bhutan and Assam to mitigate the impacts on vulnerable areas.

But govt never listend to us, as if we are not a part of India. All the people of India can understand our problm but the so called leaders do not understand . We are really hopelss. Study IQ is only covering Assam's flood everyyear..... But what about other Northeastern states Like Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya Garo Hills which is immensely facing floods and even not getting any relief from state and central government too......

Manas is not a wildlife sanctuary, it is a Manas National Park (World Heritage!).
