  • Sky News host Paul Murray says around 52 per cent of Australians believe it is Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s responsibility for the cost-of-living crisis.
    “Another poll has pointed out the prime minister is on the wrong side of history when it comes to actually dealing with the economic crisis,” Mr Murray said.
    “52 per cent of Australians believe … who has most responsibility … it is the federal government and specifically the treasurer.”

      Labor handing out lots and lots of money welfare, air fares, donations, grants, assistance, etc etc etc for the O/S war in Gaza etc to support terrorists actions.Australians could do with that assistance/money etc.

      @@edmurks236 Makes me furious when they interview these people on these repatriation flights when they say I'm so sad to leave "my" country and "my" family. Nothing about thanking Aus taxpayers. Yet we have kids that can't get medical treatment, veteran care etc etc.

    Increase in welfare costs. Geez I wonder what caused that. Bring the 3rd world in and they’ve all got their hands out once here at our expense

    I would like to know what the other 48% of Australians think the cause of the cost of living crisis is.The Labor government has simply failed to take adequate steps to control inflation. Any person can see that energy costs are the main driver and taking too much from household budgets and small business, especially. When is MSM going to provide some details on the extent of business failures- there is currently piecemeal information about so many businesses going bankrupt in big numbers,or failing.A recent example is the Labor governments much vaunted Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub.So how much longer can this unsustainable " net zero " pursuit continue?Something has to change !!😮

    How does paying peoples electricity bil make any differance. The extra money that people dont use for the bill just go s into the economy

    • @YTGhostCensorshipCanSuckMe
      @YTGhostCensorshipCanSuckMe 2 дня назад

      It makes a difference because the money was deducted from the bill side, not recorded as a payment, hence serving to reduce electricity bills artificially, which are included in the basket of goods and services when calculating CPI. As to your point, yes the money not-spent on electricity bills will just get recycled through the economy, but the inflationary effects will be somewhat delayed. The electricity bill subsidy was 100% used to prop-up the governments notion that they are implementing measures to reduce inflation, they don't give a rats about you or me, just whether they get re-elected.

    This is pretty misleading, sorry Paul. A cash rate at 4.3% is not high by historical standards. If the target inflation band is 2-3% then in order to have positive real interest rates, the cash rate should be around 4% when the economy is growing at trend. What you are really saying is that the Australian economy only functions when we have negative real interest rates. A decade of ultra low rates encouraged excess leverage and sent asset prices into bubble territory. The problem is not the current level of interest rates. It’s the artificially high asset prices (ie housing). The fiscal irresponsibility of the government is definitely not helping the situation. However it’s not the cause of the mess we find ourselves in..

      Sorry mate,there is cost of living crisis . Rich people are don't feel the crisis because they have more than enough.
      This labour left socialism government are following the WEF LEADERS ADVICE and ORDERS
      Albanese government and all left parties and government are doing everything against God's will and peoples right. Isaiah 5: 20 & 21 verses. Examples Albanese government against Israel and the Jewish people. Albanese government are supporting Lgbtq and same sex marriage and Albanese was marching with the lesbians and gay peoples in Sydney parade. Allof these are against God. Albanese government also wants Australia to become communism country it is obvious of Albanese 's regulations and laws Examples misinformation and disinformation laws Albanese government following the climate change policy. These things are leading into communism regimes.
      Albanese is the worst labour prime minister we ever had..SHAME ON ALBANESE AND HIS GOVERNMENT!!!
