I love how Gale teaches all the others how to build tuners..... love this stuff
As long as Rev. Bank is gonna preach, ''Ima sit here in my pew 'an listen.
Amen
I’d like to think with Gales high level of income, and modern advancements to technology, we can only hope he can live to be 150, maybe 200.
Banks mods anything and everything with proper engineering. My man 👌🏻👌🏻💪🏻💪🏻
The Man himself decimates all who stand in way with Knowledge and Logic on his side. Builds parts, R&D's them and teaches the masses there is always a better way to do things! Much props and mad Respect To Banks! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
More like a blowhard know it all.
Every part or package I've bought from Banks over the years, from a 6.9 Ford to a new L5P in a GMC has worked perfectly right out of the box. They even helped with getting a 5.9 Cummins running correctly in an F450. Having bought a lot of performance parts over the years for both gas and diesel engines, Banks has been the best choice over and over. They don't over-promise and they do deliver. Pure race parts are something different but if you drive it every day this is what works. What else could you ask for these days than someone that does their best and tells the truth? No, I don't work for Banks, and no I don't get a discount for being nice here.
Love the explanation. Waiting for the 6.7 Cummins version to finally show up.
It's the engineering and testing that sets Banks aside, but its the knowledge and or the curiosity to know that sets the bar and we are the beneficiaries! Thank you Gale and your Banks Team!
2:50 I learned something new. Diesels running rich, run hot.
Gas engines running rich, the opposite, they run cooler.
That's some cool shit right there
I’m loving all these new videos. I may not have a power house but it’s mine.
I will never own a diesel. But I love watching Gale Banks videos.
He is a legend!
Keep making videos like this and this channel is going to BLOW UP
Love Gale puttin everyone on blast 👍🏼
Good job Gale Banks, keep up the excellent work
I love how you teach us things like this.
I was wondering how you felt about an EFI Live tuner with anarchy tuning after having had the emotions deleted on a stock turbo and stock head gaskets.
Gotta try one of those double Whoppers!! Another GREAT video Gale! BTW, I just ordered one of your differential covers for my 2021 F250. After watching your video explaining and illustrating all the benefits, the “looks BITCHIN” comment convinced me. Keep up the great work. Thanks.
He's a national treasure, love this guy! 🇺🇸
Putting all the bad tuners on blast!
I can think of a few ways to make this even better;
- Different tuning modes, wirelessly controlled via an app or something.
- Telemetry logging for various diagnostic stuff, to detect error codes and whatnot. There are many OBD-II-based tools for highly technical troubleshooting out there that you could draw inspiration from.
- Maybe some kind of machine learning so that it can make its tuning even better as it learns your driving style and vehicle characteristics?
- An easter egg in the software to amuse anyone taking a deeper look at it.
- Wireless updating of its software? I'd buy that~
Gale you are an amazing man love this video I learned a lot
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching. Stay tuned for more education and entertainment.
Welp, time for bed......OH! a Banks video, gotta watch that first.
I would like to see you make some dyno vids on several of the major tuners on stock trucks before and after the tuner applications. I would like to see your low end Automind included in these test, and not just your top end products. I would also like to see your thoughts on Calibrated Power and HP tuners.
Gale I have two questions regarding your products:
1. When is the intercooler for the 10-12 Ram Cummins going to be available to the market?
2. Is the derringer in development for the 6.7 Cummins just like it was for the power stroke and duramax?
Incredible products!
Banks is the best. Period!
My L5P with Derringer & Banks Intake runs 14.09 - 14.15 @ sea level at 98 MPH
4:31 lol 😂 I laughed so hard when that jack ass in the video put his face in the black smoke😅!! But Mr Banks you sir are a legend I love your videos and it's a bonus when they're funny
I've had my Ford 11 years & have tried an Edge, a 6 way "chip" & a Banks(which I bought on EBAY for $40) on my 99 Ford F350 which pulls a 10,000# gvw horse trailer & same GVW car trailer most of the time. The Banks has been by far the best. Best power, best fuel economy, best shifting, lowest EGTs & ZERO black exhaust smoke. Not sure I'd spend $600 on this for an "experiment". Banks has ALWAYS been the leader in diesel performance. Banks is also the ONLY tuner manufacturer(regardless of gas or diesel) I've ever spoken to that told me they'd "unlock" it for free, if it was VIN locked when I got it. Just ran almost 400 miles running 65 mph pulling the horse trailer with some pretty big hills in very high winds, including in & out of Death Valley(3,000 ft to 200 below sea level & back out) & averaged 11.9 mpg & EGTs never over 1,000 degrees. Can go to southern Kali & cops never look at me because there's never any black smoke which is just wasted fuel! Other minimal mods are the International 203* T-stat & 70# primary fuel pressure spring & the DeiselSite adjustable mechanical waste gate controller set at 30# boost.
As soon as I sell all my sports cards I am getting all of his stuff for my 2018 ram 2500 6.7l saw another guy have everything in his duely and it was getting 21 to 26 mpg wow 🤩 the savings over 10 years just wow
Awesome. Should start selling them in Australia for the cruisers
Sure do wish Banks would make some products for my '02 Tacoma 3.4. Great truck but I wouldn't mind getting a little more out of it.
Cummins owners waiting patiently! WHEN!!???
Great video.
Thanks!
Will this tuner work with a flashed ecu with dpf and egr delete? Just wondering if the inline tuner will effect the flash tune on the ecm. I know it counterintuitive but if a truck it already delete with shock tune will it work as good.
My question is when will the Banks team release a real ECU to replace the stock unit. Currently only Motec in Australia offer wire-in or some plug in replacement units for diesel engines. (Well there are also some Bosch motorsport ECU's as well but big $$.)
I'd be curious to know what electronic package Gale and the team are using on their high power duramax engines? I somewhat expect it is not simple inline tuner ;)
My only question is when am I going to have the Derringer available for my 2.8 Duramax???
I emailed banks this question months ago. The response I got was "I havent heard. But likely we are." Doesn't give a lot of confidence.
@@cam872k3 what bothers me is there used to be some social media images of Colorado's being worked on but then they were pulled
I want this info also ... frustrating
@@justin02b Banks Power "We have a plan to address both the LWN and LM2 engines (sometime around Q2). Right now, both projects are currently on hold. We are trying to finish a few GM 6.6L L5P '17-'19/'20 projects before we continue development on the 2.8L LWN and 3.0L LM2 engines."
@@cam872k3 I got the same response. Assuming work has been done on it previously, I figure it will take them at minimum 3 months of further work to perfect it. Meaning at earliest, Q3 2020 assuming they don't invest all their time into the 3.0 in the silverado. Kinda upsetting since the engine has been out since the 2016 model year.
Very attentive to details here. I would like to ask you Banks Power or Mr. Gale Banks as you have been perfecting Derringer for the light to medium duty engine sector, would this same system possibly be a a good fit if developed properly for heavy duty and class 8 heavy truck engines?
Thank you
Way to go Mr. Banks
I hope Shane watches this video and get a big ego boost.
will this work on a 04 ford diesel are what would you recommend, i need something as new ford crate motor with 1 step above the original turbo rebuilt
Two questions... I already installed a one of the modules you mentioned that just adds fuel claiming to save you fuel. Do you think I should take it off? Is it causing damage? Question 2. When will you have a tuner for the ram 6.7. I only picked that worse tuner cause you don't have one. Now I'm questioning that choice.
Gale Banks and his team, Absolute Legends👊
If someone in the pharmaceutical world did what gale does with tuning they would come up missing lol

Looking for something to improve my towing. I travel/live full time in a 40' 5th wheel that weighs 14,000 lbs. Looking to get a Banks Speedbrake but is there something else I should do as well to improve towing performance? Maybe a Banks EconoMind or what? Or just do the Speedbrake and leave everything else stock? Oh....2006 GMC 2500HD LBZ, air bags.
Would the derringer help with better regens and less problem with emission without having to do an illegal delete ?
Gale, your The Man ! When will Banks release a Cummins 6.7L Derringer Inline Tuner ?
Please do
I know a big majority of Raptor owners want to add power but don’t want the footprint. Is there a Derringer module in the making??😉😉😉
I loved the one for my F250 and would love to see what y’all can do with the Raptor motor!
Please be okay Mr. Banks because we need your tuners for our 6.7 Cummins sir. I want to do things differently with my 2021 RAM 2500 sir. I deleted everything on my 2015 but i would love to just not delete and still get better performance and have it run cleaner. You can do it!!! 💪💪💪
Hey Gale, long time viewer and I have a quick question. Are you guys planning on getting into Jeep territory now that they have finally released the 3.0 EcoDiesel V6 for the Wrangler?! Seriously impressive in stock form, can only imagine once it has been Banksified.
Gale Banks made me want to watch an infomercial, bravo
Does it adjust or can it be adjusted for times you want fuel efficiency and times more power and torque?
I am LOL... That clown with his face in the exhaust pipe... Thanks Dr. Banks..!!
Is the derringer better than the automind handheld?
Whats your honest opinion on edge tuners for gas and diesel
When can I get one for my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee eco diesel Gale ?
@Banks Power I asked this question last year. Are you currently doing R&D on the 2.8 Duramax? I and many others are very interested. Thanks
I wish they would. I had a 2.8 in a 12 passenger Express van, and that sucker averaged 21mpg for the 35,000 miles we owned it. It was awesome, except for regen issues we always had to go to the dealer for, to make them force regen it.
love ya gale...
still need a solution for a 6.7 cumiins
buy a duramax

Yeah it Banks time!!!
Would be interesting to see what can be achieved if the design philosophy for performance can be firstly risk and then economy and then power.
Take everybody to school Mr. Banks!!! Can we get a derringer for gas trucks too??
Any idea when a 6.7 Cummins version will be released?
I'm ready for it
I would like to see similar commentary on gasoline engine tuners to see if they are as bad.
Design one for tbe Volkswagen Amarok 2L bi turbo . Could you do an episode on bi turbocharging please
hello I'm from Trinidad and own a great wall wingle 5 would your product work on my truck it's got a 4d20 engine please help thanks.
Why does the EGT go up when you add fuel? In an airplane, when you enrich the mixture, the eggs go down not up. Thanks
I need a Daringer for my Cummins 8.3 CAPS unit.. I once had a unit that Banks made that was great. But you longer make one for my 2000 cummins 8.3 CAPS motorhome.
Please help..
WAITING…for the LZO duramax version. Not patiently I might add. 😂
I wish Banks would invest more on their Flash Tuners for Gasoline Vehicles. I would buy one instantly. More so because I live on an area where there are no Experienced/Educated HP Tuners I would trust my Truck to...
FACTS 👍
What is the average MPG gains on a L5P?
Really wish they had a derringer for the Titan XD.
I wonder what the kerma TDI tune does. Has anyone looked into it?
Gale , when is the 2019 derringer for the Chevy Zr2 baby Duramax diesel going to be out ?
We have a plan to address both the LWN and LM2 engines (sometime around Q2). Right now, both projects are currently on hold. We are trying to finish a few GM 6.6L L5P '17-'19/'20 projects before we continue development on the 2.8L LWN and 3.0L LM2 engines.
Banks Power excellent. Thanks !
@@bankspower thanks banks !!
What about for older trucks like the 7.3?
Suggestion for the video editor, the voice and music levels need to be equalized. A good video shouldn't have to turn down for music, and crank it up for voice.
Great explanation. Can you guys go into why you dropped the Cummins 6.7 Derringer? Sounds like it was already maxed out from the factory/maybe transmission sucked too much to even bother lol
We didn't drop the Derringer for the Cummins. To be frank, Gale and the team were not happy with the hp and tq output. So, last fall they scrapped the design and have been working on since then. The RAM requires pulse-width and timing to make significant increases in power. That requires a new circuit board, etc, which are in-process. 👍
@@bankspower oh wow super interesting. Thank you for responding. I wouldn't want to spread misinformation LOL. thanks team Banks 👍
@@bankspower What about us 2012 Cummins guys? Will the Derringer be better tuning than my current Automind? I use the Tow Tune.
@@bankspower please!!
The Ol' man lays the law down straight.
We're your Huckleberry.
wanna make one for 2009 duramax? I only see the sixgun and economind tuner. Are these the same thing for the older duramax?
The Six Gun and Economind tuners are inline tuners. We are not developing any new hardware for the older gen Duramax trucks.
Please build a Derringer for the Caterpillar C7 engine!! Would love to add it on my motorhome
As of now, we don't have plans to. We are focused primarily on light duty and medium pick-up trucks.
Does it work on a 1998 ram 24 v
I’ve been asking the question when are they going to make one for the 2.8 L Duramax apparently they don’t want our money I would love to have one for my ZR2 2020 baby Duramax
U n me both! Great powerplant for the zr2!!!
Quit crying.
I love my 1st gen
In an older (but well taken care of) Ram with a 5.9, I've never cared about a DPF. EGTs and MPG are my concerns. I can consistently get 23 MPG if I can keep the EGTs low and 16 towing a travel trailer(I tapped a thermocouple and gage). The smarty tuner helped a bit. How does this tuner compare?
It doesn't compare! Its far better!
@@davegerrard6857anything to back up that statement? Thank you
how did the Dr performance do
Keep the warranty for 20k more miles or throw on a auto 2.0?
Have you all finished the 12 Ram tuner for the off road yet? Or, a tune that will not clog up the dpf for the 12 ram. There are not many options out there and I need to make it a off road truck. It is clogging itself up with two turbo's. And so much fuel in the oil. I run 100% AMS oil and can't get max oil change intervals with oil analysis. I have a bypass system too... Grrr!!!
I have a 2007-1/2 3500 4x4 Dually with the 6.7 Cummins which I had to delete at 100K miles due to it was all plugged up and was only getting 13 mpg at 65mph and continually plugging the dpf, oh just to clear it up I bought the truck used at 94K miles. So I'm wondering would a Derringer work on my deleted truck and get the performance and fuel economy that my Smarty JR set at Towing 75hp gets me 18-19 at 78-80mph
Monster RAM I'm not looking to race I mainly tow but you know sometimes I just like to play
Monster RAM thank you for your insight
What happens when you delete dpf and egr? How will it compensate?
Derringer is not designed to operate without emissions equipment intact. It uses data from those sensors for calibration.
Please release derringer for 3.0 duramax
How about semi trucks. Truck drivers and owner operators love upgrading their truck I would like see Banks power build power tuners for them. I have a freightliner Cascadea with a DD15. I'd like to make it move some freight.
As of now, we don't have plans to. We are focused primarily on light duty and medium pick-up trucks. The other thing is, semi-truck use a different CAN-BUS OBD protocol.
id love to run a derringer in my Cummins
When will you release the derringer for the LMM?
We have no plans for a Derringer with that generation of Duramax due to the fact that we already two tuners for. We offer the Six-Gun and the Economind.
Six-Gun: www.bankspower.com/i-2723
Economid: www.bankspower.com/i-2716
What is the mpg on a 3.0 ecodiesel ram 2017 after pedal monster and with bank tuner. On 35 inch tires going up hill and down hill.
The Derringer and PedalMonster are designed to deliver power and throttle boost when you need it. They're not designed to increase fuel economy. Therefore, we do not advertise fuel economy gains. Fuel economy depends on many variables including how you drive.
@@bankspower ok thanks for answering the question in a timely fashion
Do you make a similar product for Petrol LS Engines?
Not at the moment. But we're seriously looking into it.
@@bankspower Please do it!
any news on the tuner for the 5.9 cummins?
For now, we have no plans to offer the Derringer for the 5.9L Cummins engines because we already offer two tuners for gen of Dodge/Ram trucks.

Economind: www.bankspower.com/i-2741
