Hello, thank you so much for showing us this video. I have just tried the "open door, pin press, start" test to see if it's spinning. It's so satisfying to be able to go through these checks. It's so frustrating when appliances break and a repair man comes and it's a simple thing that could have been solved. I feel much better paying for the professional when I know it's something beyond my capability. I have to say that I have actually just called the repair people. But I know at least what I am asking them to do!
Excellent instructive video by someone who clearly knows their way around home appliances together with advice on cleaning and servicing for the longevity of your appliance. Well done keep up the good work

Thank you very much for this video. I had a snapped belt on a Hotpoint dryer that’s just over a year old. Really didn’t want to buy a new one already so I ordered a belt and followed this video step by step. Dryer now working again. Really well done video and easy to follow. Thank you so much
Not the easiest job ever, but the above instructions are perfectly correct. Simply do as you are told and it works a treat. Thank you for saving me 100 quid. Highly recommended.

i have hotpoint model TCFS 83B GG and need to replace the belt. this is very helpful, however there is a spring which has come off and i cannot figure out where it goes. Does anyone have any ideas?
It's not perfect you have to be careful not to touch the pulley wheel with the screwdriver, but the other videos that are on RUclips showing you just to stretch the belt and pull it over the wheel are done for video purposes only in real life. It is nearly impossible to do it.
@@Roadkill7878 if you find the right set of grips for the job, it is hard, but it's much easier than trying to fit the belt without the right equipment
I did this, but with fitting the belt in front of the drum instead. now one of the brackets got lose, and i didnt know where it was. there is several places to put it, but only two brackets. im afraid it wount spin correctly if not put the right place?
just in case anyone has a similar model Indesit to mine - I was happily following along when I hit an extra hurdle as soon as I removed the side panel, my model has a circuit board obstructing the fan covering from being removed! ha! So, Ive taken lots of pictures of where everything plugs in!! I would have done a video but I needed the torch on my phone 😂....then slowly unplugged some of the wires from board, then unscrewed the board from the machine, this was accessed from the front of the machine (that was under a little cover) and needed a star type allan key tool (please help me out I don't know the name of that thing, I just happened to have one!😂) - then I could remove the fan covering :) Now having a little lunch and a big cuppa coffee before I go back and assemble it all back together after replacing the pulley :) The extra step of removing the board required a breaktime lol
You only needed to remove the two front screws and then the whole panel can be lifted out to the side without disturbing the wires. There may be the odd cable tie to snip off but just removing the panel to one side leesens the risk of error. But top marks for taking photos! In the old days I always used paper and pen to draw out the connectios if I had to remove a module or timer.
I use old belt, get it behind new belt, wrap it around your hand, foot on base of TD and pull, with other hand you can turn the drum, no extra tools required
the water light should only be on if the pump chamber is full of water. If the drum is not able to turn, then it would not be able to evaporate the water from the clothing, as there is no airflow.
@@How-to-repair thank you, whilst I have your attention can I ask. I have checked the pump and it is working, the rubbing blade is spinning and the blade is intact. So I'm not to sure why the light is on when the pump chamber is not full of water?
For anyone else having this issue, for me it turned out the water gulley inside the machine was blocked with dirt. If you remove the condenser box at the front of the machine , behind that alot of dirt can build up preventong the water to drain out. There is a side panel that you can drop tonget better access to clean this from a side angle.👍🏽
