Greetings from a South African living in Houston, TX! Just returned from SA from a two month Overlanding trip and going back again early next year. Great series guys showcasing the diversity and beauty of Southern Africa. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
This was real therapeutic as a 25 year old watching great men in their 40’s navigate through their decisions and struggles in life. I would say the journey west just symbolizes the crazy unexpected things that happen in life and the chase after whatever it is you are chasing in life. I appreciate this!
the best series .Watching from the capital city of Botswana, GABORONE and enjoy the abundance of wild life. As we say "AMOGELESEGA MO BOTSWANA. LEFATSHE LA BOJANALA."
Someday I hope, but I can’t thank you enough for this series Clay. It really, really hits home at this stage of life for me. I love seeing you guys really dig into each evaluating your lives, and I would love to take a trip with that as a goal. Praying for balance. Thanks again, and keep the videos coming. You’re making a difference.
Awesome video as always XO Crew. The return to Africa series is so epic and is getting more and more exciting with each episode. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
Y’alls videos have become a staple for myself and the homies on deployment when we find some down time. Appreciate the effort that goes into these videos!
My gauge...... My play meter is so rusted, that it would take a miracle to Jumpstart it. Something like leaving one of the trucks behind would definitely work 😂 You'll get to see the cats, I'm sure of it..... Thanks for the share 🇿🇦🤙👍
You guys were so close to the jackpot for lions, leopards and other predators. You just had to continue South in the Kruger. Don't ask a Swede, ask a local.🙂 We love the Kalahari too, but density in the Southern Kruger can't be matched.
The South side of Kruger Park has a savanna grassland with a high concentration of lions. But those cats they camouflage in the grass and you can pass them without noticing.
This season has been great so far! The last African season was so stressful in a kind of way, it felt like y'all were so focused on reaching destinations and feeling stressed out that y'all were behind schedule. It feel like y'all were just swimming against the current. But this season man Y'all finally letting go and letting the current take you. I can finally see y'all relaaaxed man and as a fellow overlander thats important and that makes me happy. I've been racing the clock from destination to destination before and it removes the quality that you seek in an overlanding trip. It just feels like scrolling reels on instagram while a relaxed overlanding trip without giving a sh*t about the clock feels like watching a nice movie after haaard day. Anyway, keep up the good work. I love watching your videos they are really inspiring. If you ever plan on coming back to my homeland Sweden, please decide to take the north western route slong the mountsin range through the wilderness road -> kvikkjokk -> Ritsem -> Abisko. There are so many hidden Gems in those areas. Its the only place in Europe that looks like Alaska.
Watching from Texas, USA. Those talks you guys are having, in the youth group I help lead, we call that "Locking Shields". Its the idea of growing together and holding each other accountable for the Love, Play, Work and Health.
Next time try the south of Kruger from Satara down to Crocodile Bridge, a lot of lions and leopard there. 💪🏼😎, thank for a great show, from a South African🇿🇦 living in Canada🇨🇦
Brilliant series. Big detour to Botswana wasn’t necessary though to see lions. You were about 50km from big concentration of lions, including Casper the white lion, around Satara camp.
There’s lots of lions in the Kruger National Park. The key is to drive a lot (especially early in the morning and late afternoon as it is when they are most active). Stop at every rest camp to see the “spotted” sign board or use the Kruger Park’s smartphone app. Also stop and talk to other park visitors (not just 1x Swedish guy) and ask them where they have seen what interesting animals. It’s great to see another part of Southern Africa, but I think you’ve wasted quite a few days with the extra driving and your limited time schedule. Enjoying your videos. Keep them coming. From a South African
Thank you for the filming and showing the beauty and diversity of our continent. Wish you did change theplan and continue through my country Eswatini and see the lions at Hlane royal park.. Looking forward to the next episode
Really guys, your rock! The previous video and this one also touched me right into my heart. I am a Dutch 52-year-old entrepreneur (and overlander), and the topics that you touch are exactly the things that concern me. 3 years ago we sold our company, on to the next phase you would think. Troy, I know what you're going through man... And then the black hole came for me, where you don't know how to fill it in anymore. For someone who always got everything done, had solutions for everything, and who never stopped, this is pretty frustrating. The 4 life meters have been beautifully named by you, and also confrontational because there are a number of failing grades now. But men, how I would love to sit by your campfires in the evening. I'm sure a lot of men in our age group feel the need for these kinds of conversations, you name exactly what it's all about. And the combination with joint adventures is magic! Keep up the good work, a lot of greetings from Austria.
I cannot wait for these episodes....super good!! If you keep going a bit further South in the Kruger you will see a lot of lion and maybe leopard as well.
Love your video’s! You missed the best part of Kruger National Park though, south of Mopani in the Satara region down to Skukuza has the best game viewing. We saw lions daily for 10 days, and so many leopard as well. Much higher game density than the Kalahari. Just means you’ll have to go back to our beautiful country again some time! Bring your families to Kruger, they will LOVE it!
Full disclosure: The elephant footage was from Pilanesberg National Park, not in Kruger. But, the principle remains. Give the ellies the respect and distance they deserve. Keep the videos coming though. These series are amazing.
Love your stuff. Thanks for the chat on the challenges they you guys have reaching the age milestones. One can easily feel isolated and ask if I'm the only one struggling with this stuff. Tip for lions both in Kruger and Kgalagadi: Drive slower. They are masters of stealth when on the move and you most probably drove past a couple😂
Awesome episode and concept ... Can you just please make an effort with correctly identifying African Animals . Wild Boar = warthog ....The Springbuck was an impala...Great series ...
Kgalagadi has never disappointed me so far as lion sightings are concerned ( including mating lions in camp - slept on the back seat that night ). Hope your next camp is Swartpan.
You got two animals wrong about 3 mins in. Those were not wild boar. They were Warthog, the antelope were Impala not Springbuck. Love the series. Love the cars.
Sorry, Mabuasehube in the Botswana side of the Kgalagadi is the best. Close up ( in camp ) encounters are almost guaranteed. If you search RUclips for lions in camp you’ll see what I mean. It’s difficult to get there, so maybe only 100 people at any one time, so quiet and peaceful as well.
I love your channel. Few of tell and show it like you. You are going to hate me. But I'm a sales rep, and I do a lot of work in the Kruger and Botswana. Where you pay to see the nice places, I get paid to go and see them.
Cool you doing things on the fly and changing. I recommend you do a third africa trip becuase that place you originally where going Kosi Bay / KwaZulul-Natal maybe one of the most beautiful places on the planet (Best campsite ever). Wild, raw and it has everything. Protected ocean, beaches, wild life, special nature reserves for hundreds of kilometers/mile, turtles nesting, dolphins, whales, 4x4 trails, sand dunes, forests. Big 5. Everything and more. ;) - Watching from South Africa
The best trip in the region is the CKGR. Run it South to North and enjoy the peace. Book your stays from the Botswana government office in Gabarone or I believe you can still go to Bigfoot Tours also in Gabarone. Each entity controls roughly 50% of the campsites each. Don't forget to bring seed nets for your radiators, extra water and fuel. Our last trip a few years ago during COVID we spent 7 days two tracking through the CKGR without seeing another person other than stopping at a Ranger camp for an hour. It's by far our favorite place on the planet!
My wife and I are from Colorado and we've followed your journeys online since the beginning. We have a Big 5 safari lodge in South Africa in the famed Welgevonden Game Reserve in the Limpopo province. It's the perfect place to see Rhinos, Leopards and live beside Elephants. Of course there's all of the other animals too. We'd love for you to be our guests if you're still in-country. Our lodge is called Lost Leopard Lodge. Please let me know if you're interested in a rest stop during your travels. Enjoy Africa!
@@ExpeditionOverland It's an open invitation. We can only accommodate 10 persons at the lodge at any one time, so best to plan a little ahead. I know you guys are good at that. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your new series! And let me know if you need to fill a seat in any of your up and coming travels. Would love to join you guys some time. All the best, Andrew
LOL! In your quest for enlightenment, why didn’t you stop thinking about “how to be present?”…..and just, be, there. The irony was palpable whilst watching the impressive cinematography.
The first Africa season was amazing. Unfortunately the 2nd one is a huge disappoitment. Not much nature, rather a lot of talking. Stories, drama, nothing to do with the topic. Camera work is amazing as always, but there is not much real Africa content unfortunately. Music is sometimes extremely annoying. Mall elevator mainstream crap, many times false singing. This type of music has nothing to do with quality content or the feeling of Afrca. :-(

Greetings to you! Thank you for watching, that sounds like an amazing trip you just had!
Glad to see you got away from the horrific things going on there that the media doesn't report....

Awesome video as always XO Crew. The return to Africa series is so epic and is getting more and more exciting with each episode. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
Wildboar is a Worthog and that was a Impala not a Springbuck...
Loving the series .. also watching from South-Africa
Thank you! Need to brush up on our animal knowledge, lol.

watching from Boston. thank you for taking us on the journey with you from Alaska to Panama and now back to Africa again thank you.
📍@3:36 These are not a wild boar (those don't even exist here in Sub-Saharan Africa). They are warthogs. Pumba in the Lion King.😂
3:39 That’s a warthog😂
And the Springbuck is an Impala😂
We now call it " Kasongo"lol

The Kalahari! An absolute bucket list place.

Add the Lebombo 4x4 trail in the Eastern Kruger to your bucketlist too!
You did not give enough justice to Kruger it is a vast park with so much more to explore. Given more time you would certainly find your lions.
That’s the way to do it. Very nice trip. Thanks again
📍@3:40 That is not a Sprinbok. That is an Impala 😂

South of kruger national park in Satara you'll never go wrong when it gets to lions

Loving your episodes 💯❤️
South of Kruger National Park has more cats but overall fantastic video watching from South Africa ❤️
Awesome episode and concept ... Can you just please make an effort with correctly identifying African Animals . Wild Boar = warthog ....The Springbuck was an impala...Great series ...
I love it here
Kgalagadi has never disappointed me so far as lion sightings are concerned ( including mating lions in camp - slept on the back seat that night ). Hope your next camp is Swartpan.
Super cool but next video we want to see the lions 😉
Great episode.
You’re exploring places that a lot of Southern Africans haven’t even seen yet. Keep trekking through life’s adventures.
What an awesome episode 👏🏻💪🏻 we are such big fans. How did you manage to fly your drones in Kgalagadi ?
You got two animals wrong about 3 mins in. Those were not wild boar. They were Warthog, the antelope were Impala not Springbuck. Love the series. Love the cars.
There are no springbuck in the Kruger...that was an Impala.
Gents, lion density is proportional to game density, so Kruger best bet - they’re almost guaranteed along the Sabie river

“ So fresh and so clean clean”…and no one in the group picked up his reference. 😢
We tried 😂
This season is more calm and chilly! I wonder how the ladies would be doing it, if they were here with you all! 😅
You are going out too late to see the big cats. You need to get out before sunrise to see big cats.

not yet!
