    I give you credit for posting updates on your plants! I am anxious to see how the new potting mix works out especially if it helps with the mite and gnat problem. I have recently started making my mix more chunky instead of straight potting soil.

      Thanks! Sometimes I want to throw out a plant because it doesn’t spark joy anymore, but I don’t have the heart to do it! 😭 Kudos to you experimenting with soil mixes! I learned that you can make a mix too chunky, as it won’t retain moisture for long and will dry out dangerously fast before you realize the plant needs water after only a couple days. It’s all about finding the sweet spot! 😉 Still, we all love our chunky soil mix! 😆

    I have that purple leaves plant right behind you. It was totally gone / rot/ dead not long after I bought it. Gave up with it but decided to recycle the soil together with the remaining roots (I thought it would change into humous). Added some of the soil to other plant pots. Ended up with purple leaves everywhere.

      Wow! Mine lost all the leaves and went dormant 2 winters ago and it was basically just soil left in the pot. One by one, leaves started to sprout in the spring and it never went dormant again 😁

    Your videos are so educational, I enjoy watching you! Have you done any videos on how to fertilize these plants and regular Monsteras?

    I always root prune when my plants are root bound because I don't want to upgrade to bigger pots. 🤣

    Aloha brahda 🤙🏽🤙🏽hope all is well with you and the Ohana 🌺 quick question, have you ever gotten a bag of sphagnum moss and it had bird feathers in it? 🤔🤔🤔 Should I return this bag or is it ok?

      I’ve seen a lot of things in sphagnum moss, from cigarette butts to twigs and branches lol but the sphagnum moss is still ok to use! Aloha! 🤙🏼

    I have a monstera with sport variegation on it and I’m terrified that it might be mosaic virus

    • @SuchPlants
      @SuchPlants  2 года назад

      Uh oh! Does the variegation have clean edges? Or does it look like it blurs from one color to the next like a gradient? True variegation has clean, sharp and distinct color separation between the green and white/yellow.

      @@SuchPlants the edges are pretty crisp. But it’s more speckled than big chunks. It’s only on one of the leaves but I can also see the variegation on the stem.

      Does the leaf otherwise look and feel normal? No deformed leaves? If so, then you probably have nothing to worry about! 😆 You could experiment and take a propagation to see if the variegation continues! 😊

    You need some bigger pots.

      I do! Lol. It’s not easy finding ~8” of these white nursery pots for cheap 😆 maybe I just need smaller plants 😅
