Notes for revists: Us on TOP Side Control attacking an Americana, the opponent will react in 2 ways: 1. Reach over with the other arm to save the targeted arm, OR 2. Straighten the targeted arm to alleviate pressure IF the opponent reach over to save the arm: 2:03 - Block their tricep with your chest 2:07 - Lock over the 'saving' arm, and step over the opponent's head and lean back into a traditional armbar position 2:15 - Detail: gather up both of the opponent's arms to break the grip easily IF the opponent straighten the targeted arm: 2:42 - Get the underhook as soon as the opponent straigthen their arm, and come up to your knees 2:59 - Step over the opponent's head, and lock up the 'modern' Kimura attack position 3:13 - IF the opponnent's grip is too difficult to break, transition in to the other-side traditional armbar position
If you're talking about Americana, it's a name given by Brazilian practitioners. He tends to call it by their original Japanese names. which i feel is more proper.
On one hand, I agree it's weird to change it up. On the other, "Americana" just means "American" and implies "American lock" so he's not really renaming it as much as translating it. Kinda like if instead of o uchi gari he called it the "major inside reap throw"(I'm like 98% sure on that translation, don't judge if I'm off a bit).
The way he grabbed & dragged him by the front of his pants😂😂😂😂
😅😂
This video is actually a key piece of knowledge to get out of white belt
