Absolutely a missed opportunity for NZ - I'm sure that was a fascinating test for the neutrals, and as a NZer there were a lot of positives, which is maybe why it hurts more because the chance to win was there and they did a lot right but a few key mistakes cost them a win.
Apart from manav suthar , we have another 18 year old kid called hardik raj who is also left arm spin and left hand batter , he is also very good can replace jadeja in the future he dominated Lancashire county team with both bat and ball when they were in Bangalore for their preparation, I also asked David bumble lyod about him in twitter he was very impressed with that kid.
Rishabh Pant is not far off from going beyond what Gilly did in his career. Gilly, still for me is the best. And as for Kiwis- What a chance! The test was there for the taking. I expect NZ to raise there game in next test.
Yes let’s hope NZ can win those big moments in this next test 🤞 they did a lot of good things in that game, which is why the loss hurt a bit more for us Kiwi fans I think.
At present if jadeja gets injured axar will play in his place , but if jadeja retires in 2 years time there is kid called manav suthar he will replace him , he played one game in ipl ( he was in gujarath Titans last year) , he has the beautiful and smooth bowling action watch out for him he will make noise in test cricket in 2 years time
India has so much talent to call on! It’s exciting to watch but also scary sometimes as a NZ fan thinking about one day in the future wanting to have a test team that can really challenge India at home.
@@thetoporderpodcast don't get offended I will just tell my opinion according to me survival of test cricket in lesser playing nations will be difficult, in future franchise test cricket will come that's gonna takeover the test cricket, I have some rough idea how it should be 10 teams in division 1 4 teams from india ( Bangalore, chennai, kolkata, mumbai) 2 teams from england ( landon, Manchester) 2 teams from Australia ( Sidney ,melbourne) 1 team from new Zealand ( Wellington) 1 team from south africa ( johonnesburg) These teams should be named after their cities , these teams should be sold on the auction to bring the investment, division 2 with 10 teams remaining countries then promotion relegation system In each division 45 games will be played (9 games for each team in a season) 15 games in asia , 15 games in Europe and africa ,15 games in Australia new Zealand , then allow franchises to sign players directly that's how you can get access to more indian talents that will make cricket teams competative give 3 months window for this red ball format
No offence taken, but as big fans of Test cricket we would hate this idea. Still feel like there is value in the Test game, and in NZ it is our tests that are selling out fast so fans are still hungry to enjoy the sport. I hope the international game and franchises can find a way to work together and keep the game strong.
Someone made a solid point abt Rishabh .Gilchrist has NOT walked in to bat in the situations that RP did .AG walked in when the avg score would b say 250 .RP walked in at say 150 . RP in my opinion > AG.
Yes quite different in terms of the roles they play in the batting order if the plan for Pant is for him to stay at 5. Awesome to see him back at test level.
I completely disagree, Gilchrist was at a whole new level. He used to come into bat on a tricky test pitch at no 7 several times and smash the bowlers who were far better than the current lot around the world, and I’m Indian. Pant isn’t quite there yet
Love from India..🇮🇳.keep it up

Jadeja’s record is truly remarkable - sometimes I wonder if fans outside of India realise quite how good his stats are.
You can't rely on stats only
Stokes delivers when matter the most and wins some impossible matches
Same for jadeja in tests , he has been a match winner with ball and bat both .@@RajeshSharma-fc8mk

So many superb through the gates this week! Phillips, Akash Deep, Ramesh Mendis (although that one was a shame at the time)!
Great Pod Guys Cheers 👍🏼

Botham did the double ( 100 & 5 wkts ) five times . Ashwin has done it 4 times
Feels like a once in a lifetime scenario for us mere mortals but amazing both those two have done it that many times.
All 100 in India

The moment i saw the target set by SL for NZ to chase n win, i knew that SL will win as it was too big a target to chase in Galle.
They made it look possible at times in that innings but yes we were hoping to keep that target under 200.
