I watched V5 every chance I got in the early 80s. Here in Australia I have no clue how my friend got the VHS tape, but we wore it out lol. I bought my first V5 volt in box diecast robot when visiting Asia when I was seven.

As a young teen, back around 1977-78, I had the Mazinga (Mazinger) Monogram plastic scale model kit. I put it together but one of the arms did not come out right after being glued together. I believe it got thrown away at that point. But I still have the Radeen (Raiden) model to this day, which I successfully put together around that same time period a bit over 4 decades ago.

I watched this Japanese Anime in the late 70's. I was just a kid at that time. Unexpectedly it went off the air without any explanation. Later on we found out it was President Marcos who seized the show to be continued. I didn't had a chance to watch the three or four remaining last episodes after I immigrated here in Canada a year later. I heard that it was shown again after President Marcos was forced to leave the Philippines by the People Power.
A new trailer was released recently…accdg to the director Voltes V is halfway done 50-70%…it will be aired in GMA network but no date when. Due to protocols in the Philippines children below 15 were not allowed outside homes because of covid and one of the characters is a child around 10 who pilots the legs of voltes v, in the new featurette you get to see the live action actors and behind the scenes of the series
The series is probably coming soon too! I think this series will be in a filipino style or something since the actors are filipinos and the eagle shown in the trailer is a filipino eagle.

I love Voltes V, every time the sword came out it's over. Pacific Rim even copy the sword. But the Robot is too rounded, it looks like a man with stuff glue on the surface, it's not ridged. They need to make in more blocky or less rounded. I can't wait for the movie.
I hope they use the beast-fighters' original Japanese names in this incarnation (eg. Ep. 1: Dokugaga, Ep. 2; Bainzaga, Ep. 3: Bonzarus, Ep.4: Gardo, etc....)

俺はボルテスは世代じゃないんだけど後半の原作合体シーン、そりゃあ昔に比べたら(そもそも合体の必要は…)(つま先に操縦席あるの危なくない？)みたいな考えは頭をよぎったけど…何より見てて純粋に胸が躍った。良かった、まだあの頃の憧れみたいなものを無くしてなかった。

他の変形合体って頭側に首があったり、下から顔が生えてきたり、小顔の上にヘルメット被せたりなイメージだし
