  • In this clip from www.artistshousemusic.org - Dave Stewart, a musician and producer, talks about his experience in a band called The Tourists with Annie Lennox. He explains Annie and his transition to their band, the Eurythmics. Stewart also discusses how they came up with the Eurythmics' unique sound - cold electronic with soulful vocals. He also talks about Gilbert and George and how they were influential. Also in this segment, the video, Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This, is covered. Stewart explains that the video was based on surrealist filmmaking and that it launched their entire career.

There is a glaring error in the title of this video. The band name is simply "Eurythmics". There is no "The" in it.

I love Dave, who is something of a genius. And I still on occasion love la Lennox, despite the fact that in her misguided old age she is an unwitting lackey for the international criminal pharmaceutical cartel.

Dave wasn't the first though to mix passionate female vocal with icy electronics , Belgian band Jo Lemaire did it before him with the cover of " je suis venue te dire"

He does, he just didn't in the tourists because he played the guitar instead and Annie did. In Eurythmics depending on the song or live set up he did both.

According to an interview of Eurythmics in "Rolling Stone" magazine in 1983, Dave Stewart discussed his history of drug abuse, including taking LSD. In the interview, he stated that he still had "bad feelings" from taking the drug. He also was in a very bad automobile accident in the early-1970s, and has had to take a lot of prescription drugs to keep himself alive, and perhaps still does to this day.
