Carol Jiani’s album “Hit 'N Run Lover" started with the single, which was then remixed by San Francisco-based Moby Dick Records for their Gold Standard imprint and would become Jiani's signature song. It peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard Club Play Singles chart in 1981. On the heels of the single’s success, Matra Records commissioned a complete album, also titled "Hit 'N Run Lover" with a re-issue that added bonus remixes of her hit songs.

There are a couple different versions of this song; this is not my favorite though I still like it. A rather late manifestation of pure disco (spring 1981), supposedly disco died 2 years before - which is nonsense, it did not; this song makes me remember my Calvin jeans, beige canvas Sperry Topsider sneakers, and blue Fiorucci shirt with paint splotch designs on it - disco meets new wave and preppy.

I met the Village People in 1984 when I moved to NY while promoting Sex over the phone album . The thrill of it , a young Greek boy super fan of the VP , I couldn’t believe I met them.
At that time some of the original VP had been replaced but I met David Hodo and Randy Jones later on in 1987 when they re joined the group. I was so shy to get close to David I was extremely overwhelmed and shy
