    I am disabled and had a Harley Dyna. It does't weigh near what a HD Full Dresser does. I ended up dropping that Dyna several times a summer. I think this is a FANTASTIC invention. P.S. I wont be buying another Harley. If Im going to have a heavy bike I may as well get some real luxury like the Gold Wing or the Bmw GTL.

    I crashed hard on 06-20-2017, broke all toes on right foot, right knee in 3 places, broke 4 ribs on left side from bike pinning me down for a 10 count and had a brain bleed even tho I had skull cap on. I, am 63 and not as strong as I used to be but still plan on riding again and this maybe my answer to riding sooner then next spring.

    If. I had the money I would buy a Harley with this landing gear but I would never buy a trike, I´d rather stop riding motorcycles. This is just a little help if you are as old as I am (71) but don´t want to quit riding yet. People under 60 would not understand this and should not make any comments.

      I'm in my 30's, a survivor of a head-on collision which broke my back. I immediately swapped one of my bikes for an 850cc british trike, I built another of my bikes into a sidecar which could take my wheelchair, and then adapted a solo commuter with a jockey shift so I could ride solo.
      Now I can ride most solo bikes without a problem (I have no left leg use and still have back issues - 2 rods and 24 pedicle screws) through retraining other muscles to do the work of those that don't work.
      I've still got the trike and the sidecar though - they're great fun to ride, really useful and I don't need a car or van to transport larger items now - I've even taken the tub off of the sidecar frame and used it to move my chop from one house to another so I could work on it!
      Age is irrelevant, your outlook on life depends solely on your experiences, and whilst - yes, with age comes more experiences - you shouldn't discount the opinions of younger people, just because they're younger.
      I grew up in the GoldWing Owners Club of Great Britain. I spent the best part of my childhood on the back of a solo GL1100 or GL1500, or a GL1500 or GL1800 with a sidecar, I own one 'wing (currently in bits) and my partner and I are looking to buy the 'wing combo that I grew up in for my son to grow up in share in some of the experiences I did as a kid.
      I hope you're still riding and, if possible, check out a few of the Goldwing Forums around the U.S. and Canada, and some of the European forums too - look for a Canadian named Jerry - he's in his 90s now and rides his fully faired GL1100 around Europe for the best part of the year - it's been round the clock God knows how many times there's a few GWOCGB Treffen (large international rallies for the Goldwing club) videos on youtube, check them out as some of them feature this style technology (granted from the 90s and early 2000s) and also feature an interview with Jerry.
      All the best and hope this comment still finds you riding.

    These are an awesome option for a lot of seasoned riders who for whatever reason need suppport with stabilization. It enables them to continue to enjoy their passion. Heck. I’m thinking about getting them for myself. Would make the ride a lot safer IMHO!!!

    Saw something similar 5 years ago, this is a far better design! I have a1500 Interstate Valkyrie which is very Top heavy compared to regular Goldwings I have owned before, 3 in all. With full tank heavy and hard to maneuver at slow speeds. Recently I had half of my right knee removed from a freak soil Mucor Fungus Flesh Eating Infection that took only 3 days to ALMOST take my leg and life! Was considering selling but Love the bike. Then today I run across this video! THANK YOU - PROBLEM SOLVED!

      @@ThePols98 Do you also have a kit to make the throttle foot operated? Not having to put the feet down means the throttle, clutch, and or brakes can be foot operated doesn't it?

    Products like these are great... Some people should keep their trap shut cause they have no dam idea of what they are talking about. One day when you start getting weak in your legs and can no longer hold up a big bike, You'll be looking for something like this, Or may even be getting a trike. So just keep this mind... YOU TO one day will no longer be able to hold up a big bike.

      I have no use of my left leg due to a head on 2 years ago in which I broke my back. I'd love to have something like this over here in the UK but unfortunately - add 2 more wheels, even temporarily, and you need a Quad license. This is a shame because by far the cheapest way to 'trike' a bike is by using one of those kits that just add two outrigger wheels, but that would be a quad over here.
      In the 'infancy' of my recovery I got a trike and built a sidecar, both of which gave me the confidence to jump back on a modified (to hand shifter) 125, and then onto larger bikes again.
      I've still got the trike and sidecar, they're hella fun to ride.

    Can I ask a serious question here, if you can't be arsed to put your feet down when you come to a stop...wouldn't you be better off with a small car or a trike or even a Reliant Robin?

    • @the_mad_ratter
      @the_mad_ratter 7 лет назад

      For some of us it's not a case of 'can't be arsed', for some there's a physical disadvantage in that it may not be even possible!
      I agree, a Reliant is great fun - but only when you rip the body off and weld a bike front end on it :D A sidecar would be another option (but not Flexit or Sidewinder)

    What's the use of the landing gear? For short people?

    • @fourdragonv2
      @fourdragonv2 8 лет назад +1

      +ehsan83 Probably someone with disabilities. Lots of times they have to buy trikes. Trikes aren't as fun, and are generally more dangerous. It could be used for short people as well I suppose.

    • @the_mad_ratter
      @the_mad_ratter 7 лет назад

      I'd argue trike's aren't inherently more dangerous - I've had no accidents that put me in hospital with a broken back on my trike compared to one on my bike :P
      Done a fair few miles on three wheels now and would say it's just as safe if not safer because people notice you more (in the UK the law is you must have marker lights at the widest point - I'm 5ft wide...). I've never picked a wheel up either and I've really thrown it into some corners on a road I know pretty well and thoroughly enjoy on bike, trike and sidecar - the sidecar...now that's a different story - that slides and lifts the wheel all the time :D

    I remember the first time I seen one of these in action, if was sorta funny, and cool too. But anything past 3 min is just boring to me, same thing over & over and on again. Also at one point the bike becomes a car, with the 4 wheels of course, and could really come in handy, because those bike are real heavy !

    I love these idiots saying that people are to lazy to put there feet down, or look training wheels. Bikes are ultimate freedom these things are a way to extend that freedom to people that cant ride any more, hell i ride rain hail or heatwave its a way for me to escape if i lost use of my legs i would hope i could afford this modification.
    Basically if your to narrow minded to look at the bigger picture maybe you should ask some one a little smarter then you if they can think of a reason to make these for bikes before you make an arse out of your selves
