Hi Mark thank you for your comment. We tried to get as close as possible to Luke, but as we didn’t have the original score, there might be a position difference here or there.
@@guitarinstitutenl8487 I’m a drummer at heart, so I know what you mean when transcribing parts. It’s always the “feel” that goes unwritten.
Absolutely Mark! Micro timing doesn’t let itself caught in score... The bigger the challenge to replicate phrasing.
@@guitarinstitutenl8487id actually say your phrasing was better than Lukes original phrasing. The muted notes, much smoother runs. Yours had alot more life than Lukes original; More human if you will

Did you use any chorus or reverb at all? or is that just a sort of “Double tracked” effect using your boss delay? it sounds so good
also, do you have a download link for the backing track?
Yes some chorus, stereo widener and delay as this is typically what Steve Lukather uses!

The repeated 'rest-2-3-4' feel on measures 1 & 2 was impossible to find from the recording.
I think solo timing is my biggest weakness.

What string gauge are you using for this solo?
That is 0.10 but I must say I should have used 0.09 like Steve Lukather does as this gives a fatter vibrato:)
I actually thought they're 9s. That's some beautiful bends you did there.
In what rhythmic figure did you practice this?
That is 4/4
Is this really just the tube screamer and delay pedal through the Kraken? No modulation?

Thank you buddy! It is. Awhile ago that I recorded it but I am pretty sure I added some kind of modulation in the mix to get closer to Lukather’s sound.

What key is the last solo in? Is it in F like the first?
The chord structure is basically Bobby Kimball's portion of the verses.
