The recent buzz of the word silent hill has taken an unexpected turn,as it has nothing to do with Konami at all but rather with Hideo Kojima's OD. It's quite astonishing how clear the SH and PT references are,and to have 3 of them in a single announcement is unbelievable. I wonder if people will find more.😂
What you need to know is PT was never a silent hill game and the one he was going to work on was cancelled so this is new and will probably have his ideas that was going to be in his SH cancelled game, but remember silent hill will always be team silent members kojima had nothing to do with silent hill and never will be what team silent brought to silent hill, so let's separate kojima and silent hill and separate silent hill and PT please 👍

@@fredo7540 no PT was never a silent hill game koujima said it himself they were both separate games PT was a teaser of showcasing silent hills (never like the s at the end anyway) that was cancelled and I'm glad it was konami has ruined the silent hill franchise and the upcoming remake is bad. Silent hill died in 2004 and has never recovered.

When it comes to horror games, Alan Wake 2 blew my mind. When you play as Alan Wake and you're in new york, it gave me such strong Silent Hills vibe (by that I mean the end trailer of the P.T demo trailer were you see Norman Reedus walking in a completely pitch dark, rainy street). I hope they can gather creative minds, artists and musicians to make something as spectacular as Alan Wake 2 was.

Note that the door is *not* just a stage prop. For one, that doesn't matter anyhow as you can't use copyrighted material to promote your game even if isn't in the title. More importantly tho, we see the same door and light setup in the leaked footage of the game from last year. So an asset from PT's demo is directly in OD. Also note that Del Toro dropped a big hint in 2021 too, saying awkwardly how he sure would like to see another Silent Hill game.
It’s fairly obvious that this isn’t a Konami / Kojima collaboration for Silent Hills, I think he’s just making the Silent Hills that never was, and all the PT / Silent Hill references are just that, references
OT Overdose may relate to Silent Hills / PT in similiar fashion to how Haunting Ground and Devil May Cry relate to Resident Evil 4, ie early concepts from development period got recycled and spawned those games. It seems Death Stranding also recycled ideas from Silent Hills.
Ehhhh this seems way more than that. PT is old now… why would he reference things relating directly to something he made that and such a giant footprint on gamers? He knows what he’s doing and he definitely knows people will be thinking of PT. It’s definitely more than an “inspired by” as you referenced to.

While I think the second detail mentioned is a stretch it is still interesting to think about when coupled up with other pieces of evidence provided. I'm certain that OD will be a spiritual successor of sorts to Silent Hills while still being its own thing which has me excited. I am kinda disappointed Del Toro isn't working with Kojima again for this project but Peele is a great filmmaker too so I think he'll do well with this project.
For all we know,GDT maybe chipping in as well. Remember what HK said in the interview that there's a lot of people involved,his personal "Avengers" team.
@@ThatOtherGamer I mean Del Toro did say before that he wasn't interested in making games anymore cause of Konami which is unfortunate to hear and as much as I'd love to think he could be working on this game we'll just have to wait and see before we get our hopes up although I personally don't it's the case sadly. Soo it probably is Silent Hills without the Silent Hill IP. Hideo can’t risk getting in trouble with Konami or having to pay them so the references must be very cryptic.

I genuinely think Kojima is telling us that while he can't give us "Silent Hill", he CAN give us the game he WAS going to name "Silent Hill" but as "O.D." (for obvious legal reasons).
Obviously he can't come right out and say, 'Guys, this is the Silent Hill project from my previous employment', so I think this is his way to get people intrigued, as well as pass along this message.

The ending of the video gave me hope tho, I'm crossing my fingers that this will be something good, something that will actually be a horror title (like Silent Hills) that Kojima intended to build in the first place. Very curious to get more breadcrumbs from him in the future.

Can anyone tell me at what point did they call the game overdose? I watched the whole segment from TGA again and at no point did the game get referred to as Overdose
On kojimas website under the section for OD it says something about “overdosing on horror”
Is that "purple dinosaur..." phrase something they say during motion capture to get all the mouth/lip movement positions?
I'm not well versed with the tech being used by KojiPro here but nowadays they just capture the mouth and jaw movements along with the actor's lines called Performance Capture. Hard to say what those lines could be.

No,because it says in the end of PT demo that it has relation no what SHs is going to be. So OD could turn out to be anything.

HK likes to play around with novel ideas,and with all the other titles which came out inspired by PT,the chances of that are very slim IMO.
PT never was connected to Silent Hill. PT and its narrative are a way to connect Metal Gear and Death Stranding. Nothing in the game has links to how Silent Hill operates. He simply is referencing Silent Hill for his own narrative.
It should be noted that PT never got a formal release by Konami. Therefore Konami doesn't have the same rights to the game's assets and details. Using that door was not infringing on copyright, because PT had no copyright like a normal game series.
Maybe konami is the blood sacrifice to make OD ar eality
Hideo is making a point on keeping game fairness for Microsoft and Sony. May the best game console win.
