My son get that same haircut and I want to learn to do it,although I have cosmo experience but i enjoy barbering and want to learn, you have made it easy to understand the steps, too many barbers go to fast or speed up the video. Thank you for taking your time to do this video it help a newcomer like myself out, please keep making more educational video you are very professional in what you do.
one of the best baldfades on here, many of the videos on here focus on the zero blend as opposed to the blend into the longer hair, you nailed it extremely impressed, only vid on here i have not critisised under my breath lol
Thank you so much for teaching me how to do this. I've watched a million barber videos and nobody explains it as good as you! The best barber tutorial ever! Thank you and god bless!
Thank you sir! I've been cutting hair for over 30 years in a non professional capacity but got better as time went along. When my three sons came along, I got better by practicing on them. I must say, your videos are just great and you do an excellent at going through the cuts step by step. Mad respect Mr. Millions and as you pro's say, Barber Love my brother. Keep doing your thing!
Thx Al, for a simple to follow video. I am transitioning into a lot more barbering from working on mostly women after 20 years and found this video very useful ! Peace and love from Canada !
what you just showed me made a ton of sense, i always had issues removing the lower line when i give my son a cut, the adjustments on the bottom line helped a lot, thanks bro.
Lmao bro this is the absolute FIRST haircutting vid I ever watched when I first got into barbering like 6 years ago,its crazy youtube recommended me this now
Great work keeps my son with a fade it gets better and better everytime I cut my son's hair even with low grade clippers, I'm glad you posted this video thanks. Any other tips would be nice to you haters move around. Cause with this method I make a easy 70 bucks every other day with this concept. And I'm not even a barber
Your willingness to take time out of your busy day to answer my question is greatly appreciated man . ok I sure will watch that video over and over . How about when I have a different number on the top ? How will I know what guard to use to erase the last line ?
Start with the smallest guard first to see what it does, adjusting your lever for minimum or maximum length. If enough hair is not being removed you'll need to make a smaller adjustment and vice versa. After a while you will know which guard works best for that hair length.
This was the best and easiest tutorial to follow... that being said, I still messed up my boys head. lol he moved really fast when I was going over the crown.
Great tutorial man. Was wondering if you can please tell me what clippers you use for the actual fade? The part where you rub the lines out. I see you using a couple of different clippers. I appreciate it!
I'm no professional barber, but I began cutting my own hair at 14 and others at 17. And today I'm known as the neighborhood barber, but like I said I'm no professional. I've learned tons of things by Youtubing, and just decided to began learning professional barbering techniques. I've done bald fades, just by creating a starting line (line of demarcation), and gradually blending as I go up. I never used certain blade settings for each section. Are those settings universal for all barbers, or are they personal preference?
its a good video however it could use a little more organisation in presentation.certain points such as after making the line using the 0 what guard do you put on? to make the sub line?
hi..i just bought wahl senior from us...i used in uk..so i bought also a frequency 60 hz convertor...the only problem is..after 1 haircut is getting to hot , i cant hold it in my hand....do any one has same problem ? pls help ..thank you and apreciate
Hello Al Reid I'm trying to learn how to blend the hair starting from the skin to the desired length (eg 4 mm) I would be very grateful if you could explain to me how to proceed. 1. The first part starting from the skin with the Wahl "Detailer" or "Super Taper" 2. Should I do it with the second part of the Wahl "Super Taper" without gard all the way open? 3. Fade out to the line between the first part (taper all the way closed) and the second part (taper all the way open) continue putting the lever of the super taper half way and then blend the line? 4. The fourth part should I use the Gard Number # 1 all the way open? 5. Then fade out the line between step 3 and step 4 by putting the lever half way? and so on? this is right ? I would much appreciate it if you could answer me. sorry for my english ...... a dear greetings from italy
***** Really? I assume (I'm guessing here of course) to protect the barber from potentially contagious skin/hair problems. Kinda like when you work in healthcare or if you've seen healthcare professionals they were gloves as a barrier so that they don't get diseases and stuff like that.
ok you start using a 3rd set of clippers to get that last line out. I only have the outliners and the ones you use to fade with a 1,2 and 3 guards. im cutting a 1.5 with the grain on top what do I do? please help. thank you very much sir and I liked the vid
Hello , I'm sorry I guess my question was not clear. The question was In regards to the hair cut in clipper you where using. I actually did very well on both of my state board exams. The board as you know don't give you a license if you don't know what you're doing. I will look into your one on one classes, I think that will help build my confidence back up since I haven't been in the barbershop. Thank you .
I meant no disrespect my sister, but we get barbers with licenses that never received the class time they needed and somehow passed the exam. I also know that one can forget and or lose their touch if the training isn't repeated enough. A couple of good training sessions should have you on your way.
Thanks for the video! At 4.42 you start to do the fade with another machine, and i don't near any sound, are these clippers just very quiet or you're using them without turning them on? Saw another video, and it was the same - no sound at all!
I just started learning how to cut my own hair. In this video I noticed that you were using two clippers; do you have to use two clippers? Can't I just get away with using my Wahl color pro clippers?
Awesome video. I was wonderful if you can do a step by step video on how to do a shadow haircut. I forgot the real name of it, i think that it but it a haircut where it almost bald all over the top, sides, & back head. Can't seem to find videos on that.
Very nice tutorial. I would just add that, if you could just learn the levels of one main clipper, Masters, Seniors, or whatever your main clipper is, then you only need one set of clippers, a few guards, and your liners. Expecting the #1 blade to be the same length as a fully open adjustable blade is a bit chancy. But if your main clipper is a zero when closed, a one when open and a one and a half with the first guard, your golden from there, it just takes the guess work out of blending with too many sets of clippers.
What kind of clippers were those when you made your first line? Been trying to find those clippers but couldn't think of the name. And I am a future barber in the making and you explained the bald fade very well.
what guards will I need if I'm doing a one on top with wahl adjustable? should I just do the blend with a 1/8 since I don't have the 1/16? also great video
I have the Wahl senior and the andis master and the oster model 10 could you do a video with the andis master how to fade I'm trying to learn how to do fades I know you have differents kinds if fades. The skin, mid high and low fade I just want to know the basic please help.
When making it "true" you say you are making sure everything is 1,5, what would that be on andis master? Are you saying use the 1.5mm (1/16) guard? And if so are clippers opened or closed?
Hey Al, really enjoy your tutorials but I had a couple questions regarding the fade. I noticed after you cleaned up the first line you went straight to the #1 guard (1/8"). When fading, do you always use the #1 guard (1/8") before going to the #1/2 guard (1/16"). I've seen way too many fades get messed up because of improper 1/16" usage. Is using the #1 more appropriate? I thought that the fading process was like this: 1. close 0 (guide line) 2. t-line below guideline 3. Open 0 (2nd line) 4. halfway 0 (blend line) 5.1/16" (new line) 6.halfway 1/16" (blend line) 7.#1 etc.... in step 5 instead of doing 1/16" first is it better to to 1/8" first?
I have a question I jus succeeded in getting my licenses and I am looking for pointer on how too get clients. How were you able to get them? I know my haircuts are flawless but the ones I had I had cut the price down.. Also you are beyond great I have been watching most of your videos on here WISH YOU WERE MY TEACHER
Brandon Latham I don't recommend it but if they want it then you have too, even if it doesn't look right on their head, as well as you could blend it in tho
I learned alot from you al coming out of barber school over 4 years ago.. I was a abmaam member and everything. Thanks for your help

The Master Educator really made it look easy. I always like learning different fading techniques. Thanks Al!
Been searching for days how to fade and this has to be one of the best or the best I’ve seen so far , explained perfectly
one of the best baldfades on here,

This video never gets old. Great stuff Al!!
what you just showed me made a ton of sense, i always had issues removing the lower line when i give my son a cut, the adjustments on the bottom line helped a lot, thanks bro.

I wish you taught at my school. I will keep studying your video daily until I master this!
Thank you!
Really nice demonstration man! I appreciate the way that you explained the process in detail step by step! Thank you!
Glad I could help. The key is to learn the mechanics and then you can adjust your clippers to remove imperfections.
Repetition is key to a perfect fade! Great video!!!
very good, I mean very good. Now that´s what I call a real step by step video..Good job
Great work keeps my son with a fade it gets better and better everytime I cut my son's hair even with low grade clippers, I'm glad you posted this video thanks. Great tut.
One thing I've learned Is that its all about the clippers that your using..
This video is good. I just gave myself a bald fade by watching this video now I don't have to going back to my barber anytime soon
Your willingness to take time out of your busy day to answer my question is greatly appreciated man . ok I sure will watch that video over and over . How about when I have a different number on the top ? How will I know what guard to use to erase the last line ?

Hello Al Reid I'm trying to learn how to blend the hair starting from the skin to the desired length (eg 4 mm) I would be very grateful if you could explain to me how to proceed.
1. The first part starting from the skin with the Wahl "Detailer" or "Super Taper"

5. Then fade out the line between step 3 and step 4 by putting the lever half way? and so on?
this is right ?
I would much appreciate it if you could answer me.

Thnx for your vids man keep them coming
BROTHA GOT SOUL IN IT TOO WOO WEE♥️🔥🔥✝️
Hello Al, are the gloves to keep hair out of your fingers and nails?
Yes, it protects the client as well as the barber from cross contamination.
Nice video al.
Can you please upload a skin fade Mohawk? Love your work
I will
Ok cool thanks AL..
Great work! It might be obvious, but I want to ask why do you cut with rubber gloves on. I've not seen this before on any videos?
*****
Really? I assume (I'm guessing here of course) to protect the barber from potentially contagious skin/hair problems. Kinda like when you work in healthcare or if you've seen healthcare professionals they were gloves as a barrier so that they don't get diseases and stuff like that.
often times when cutting you get hair splinters an them thangs hurt so we wear gloves to prevent that
Simple and direct. Thank you.
ok you start using a 3rd set of clippers to get that last line out. I only have the outliners and the ones you use to fade with a 1,2 and 3 guards. im cutting a 1.5 with the grain on top what do I do? please help. thank you very much sir and I liked the vid
Crispy fade boss man
Thanks for making this we had some of the same tools
Hello , I'm sorry I guess my question was not clear. The question was In regards to the hair cut in clipper you where using. I actually did very well on both of my state board exams.
All I use is my wahl seniors and a t outliner. I really need to buy more clippers. What do u recommend I should get next?
Awesome video. I was wonderful if you can do a step by step video on how to do a shadow haircut. I forgot the real name of it, i think that it but it a haircut where it almost bald all over the top, sides, & back head. Can't seem to find videos on that.
Thank you sir you are the man great video i finally have learned to do a fade the right way god bless.
Fresh cut an lovely steps!!
I just learned so much thank you
Made that look like 123 easy nice fade and video thanks bro
Are you using a Fade blade or Taper blade on the Wahl??
This was a great video!
What kind of clippers were those when you made your first line? Been trying to find those clippers but couldn't think of the name. And I am a future barber in the making and you explained the bald fade very well.
Wahl Reflections
Are those detachables???
Not the reflectors but the red and silver clippers. Its the wahl outliner something I didn't catch the name in the video.
The second pair of clippers you used. Wahl raplafire or something like that. It looks like it's a detachable clipper.
Janet Richardson
Rapidfires, Correct.
Thank you very much! Just what I was looking for.
Is there a trick or something you use like skip a guard or would you erase it with the next guard smaller then the top ?
what guards will I need if I'm doing a one on top with wahl adjustable? should I just do the blend with a 1/8 since I don't have the 1/16? also great video
james green appreciate it
Nice!!! ♡ I learned a lot from this video! :)
you must can hair
thanks al. great video
this helped me out a lot
thanks i needed this tutorial great job!
very good tutorial sir
Great tutorial! Thanks!
You're welcome. All the best to you.
I have the Wahl senior and the andis master and the oster model 10 could you do a video with the andis master how to fade I'm trying to learn how to do fades I know you have differents kinds if fades. The skin, mid high and low fade I just want to know the basic please help.
You can use the same technique using the andis. Watch and listen to the video carefully.
At 9:18Did u say 1A or 1/8th??So confused now plz answer thanks
1/8 obviously
+MCFriedChicken1
no its not obvious cuz there are "1A" guards that some people use on certain clippers... obviously
Forgiven lol
1A means 1 andis
When making it "true" you say you are making sure everything is 1,5, what would that be on andis master? Are you saying use the 1.5mm (1/16) guard? And if so are clippers opened or closed?
Does my clippers need to be adjusted if i cant start my first guideline with the lever closed on my wahl adjustable?
The Clipper wide open is called a half or a 1?
Hey Al, really enjoy your tutorials but I had a couple questions regarding the fade. I noticed after you cleaned up the first line you went straight to the #1 guard (1/8"). When fading, do you always use the #1 guard (1/8") before going to the #1/2 guard (1/16"). I've seen way too many fades get messed up because of improper 1/16" usage. Is using the #1 more appropriate? I thought that the fading process was like this:
1. close 0 (guide line)
2. t-line below guideline
3. Open 0 (2nd line)
4. halfway 0 (blend line)
5.1/16" (new line)
6.halfway 1/16" (blend line)
7.#1 etc....
in step 5 instead of doing 1/16" first is it better to to 1/8" first?
💈💈 nice job Al see you at the bronner bros 2016
thank you very much!... I got it👍
Does it take 15 minutes for this haircut or is this longer for demo purpose?
I can do it in a little over 4 minutes, so it depends on the individual. The more you do it the faster you'll become.
Thanks for the lesson
I have a question I jus succeeded in getting my licenses and I am looking for pointer on how too get clients. How were you able to get them? I know my haircuts are flawless but the ones I had I had cut the price down.. Also you are beyond great I have been watching most of your videos on here WISH YOU WERE MY TEACHER

Do u recommend a fade to guys whose hair is thin on top?
Brandon Latham I don't recommend it but if they want it then you have too, even if it doesn't look right on their head, as well as you could blend it in tho
I agree
Where could you buy those kind if gloves from I will like to buy a pair
Sally's
