Welcome to another episode of “My Big Tidy Up on the Go” it was time to get on the road again! In today’s video, I tackle a family’s kitchen pantry. This pantry definitely needed a makeover! It was cluttered, and the family couldn’t find any of their items and actually were over buying since they didn’t realize they already had some of the items hidden in the back of the pantry! I transform this pantry by doing a major declutter, giving them a new storage system and try to place things more conveniently! if you are ready for some serious kitchen, decluttering and kitchen organization, then go ahead and push play and let’s get this party started!

As usual, you quickly decided on organization placement, containers, and accessories. I truly admire your ability to identify what.will and will not work well for each space. Hopefully, the family will be able to keep up with maintenance and will never again have wasted foods. I think we are all so much more careful about wasted food at today's prices. Thank you for the inspiration and ideas (as one of the vertically challenged, I loved the deeper baskets and the rolling tray).
Good morning Joy! Thank you so much! Many times it is trial and error, but I do try to think things through and always remember the makeover Is to be convenient for the homeowners, which doesn’t necessarily mean it would be convenient for me. I have to step away from it and look at the space through the homeowners eyes, as if I lived there myself. You definitely are right about the importance of not wasting food with today’s prices. There are many things I buy that I haven’t noticed a difference on, however, there are so many items that are on my regular grocery list that have become ridiculously high now. 🙄
I picked up the deeper baskets to help with the top shelf, but I actually think I might pick up a few for myself now!

Cabinet depth is a hard one to organize. Unless in a basket, things get lost in the back. Cabinets, frigs etc do 't need depth as much as width. Also vertical space when there aren't enough shelves messes with organization. Good job organizing.

If you want more room for food in pouches take them and shake them to make them flat and you will have more room to put in baskets. I do this for dried mashed potatoes or rice dishes. I rotate my canned goods by date so the new dates are in the back and you use the older ones first. Great video.👍💜

I love these "on the goes"! This is so encouraging to see someone else dealing with what I am at my folks. I have to remind myself my mom can't reach up like me & she loses things in the back of cabinets. So far so good :) I'm mounting some wire baskets on her cabinets for things like I do at my home. I owe you an email! Was sick this week , set my asthma off . I didn't do much , but rest 😉 . I watched this weeks too & was like YESSSSSS labels! I just printed some for my folks house . My dad has dementia & the most commonly heard thing from the men folk there is .... " I don't know where it is _ or_ where it goes ". I had hoped to get their kitchen & dining room done before Christmas ... well... aint gonna happen & it's okay . You make me smile! & your videos are so #satisfying I can't NOT comment lol 🥰 I hope you're week is full of grandbaby loves and joy! Hugs, Love & prays !!!! Oh quick funny story... I was caulking the baseboard area at my folks & my dad got up ( I get there early) I had went in the kitchen smiled said good morning . I went back to the floor in their main room & hear my mom say , " I don't know who she is but she's a good worker we're going to keep her " ( and laughed) . May dad must have not recognized me on the floor with my back to him before he had his coffee 🤣🤣
When I get some control of the hoard over at my folks I will do some zones for them . BRILLIANT! I do this for me but don't even realize I have done it & forget how it makes a difference ! Thanks for the tip/reminder!

The older I get, the more I’m shrinking! Lol! Seriously, though, I used to be 5’8”, but I am not anymore. I think I’m closer to 5’7” 😂
Hi DeDe, I, unfortunately, have a pantry just like this. I call it “the cabinet where food goes to expire” bc it happens on the regular. I’m going to try the basket trick for my chips and snacks. I think it will work great! Thank you for the idea and inspiration! Stay warm!🥶

I use those long Mainstays bins under both kitchen and bathroom sinks. They work great for me!

Good morning DeDe. So wonderful to see you again this week. I love pantry makeovers. This was a great transformation. I hope the homeowner appreciates it and loves it. The pantry is def an area that can slip away from you. I know there’s been times when I’m in a rush and just put things on the shelf from the store when I’m in a rush. I try to give it some love often and go through it. Thank you and the homeowner for allowing us into her/his home. Have a great weekend and see you next week😘
Good morning Grace! It was nice to have the extra time with my family, but it is good to be back! I’m like you, I try to keep up with mine, and really work more on maintaining the system I have. I definitely have problem areas in my home, but the pantry usually stays pretty good. It might be because I’m in there grabbing things to eat all the time!! 😂😂😂

PS the elf on a shelf has started making his appearance at Lolli and Pops house. He only appears over here a couple of times a week when we watch the fellas. I don’t know how these parents come up with all of these ideas when they have to do it every day the entire month of December!
