You’re definitely right about the pacific nations cup! Think I was going for threat over a few years, but after this Samoa v Ireland game I’m convinced the pacific island nations are in for a big tournament
I'm definitely in the camp that England are underperforming rather than being an intrisnically dreadful side. But unless we stop underperforming right now, then that distinction doesnt really mean anything.
It’ll be good to see Jonny May back in the squad, but woah they have some heavy work to do. I think a loss to Argentina, Japan and Samoa is a real prospect for them now. Interesting enough, last year England won 4 from 9 and had to play Argentina, similar to rn where England are 3 from 9 with Argentina to play. Ngl though, as an Australian I’m definitely happy England are suffering 😅
Samoa a bigger threat to England than Japan, and that was before they nearly beat Ireland. Samoa are higher ranked than Japan and beat them recently, they have a super strong squad and are on the up unlike Japan who are on a downward spiral.
