    Very cool! Thanks for sharing your adventures! Friends of mine are working at McMurdo Station right now. They've been sharing lots of photos and information, so I've learned more about Antarctica in the past few months than I learned in my first 50+ years!

    Hi Sarah. Oh my gosh, this trip looks amazing! I was of the same belief as you regarding sightseeing in the Antarctic. And you got to see penguins in their natural habitat! ❤️❤️❤️ It's not picky at all to want to be catered for properly regarding your meals! But otherwise, what a wonderful experience to remember forever! x

    What a wonderful adventure and fantastic experience for you both. I'm delighted that the trip went well and that you had an amazing time. With climate change threatening the ecosystems in Antartica, and reducing consumption being a valuable way for ordinary people to help fight climate change, I can only imagine that spending time in Antartica, surrounded by its beauty, has added further inspiration to your own relationship with minimalism and sustainable living. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful photos - that was a wonderful treat for the eyes.

    Great video! My brother had a 6-month job there, as aircraft maintenance. The seals loved hanging out on the runways near the hangar doors. So friendly but huge!

    I love this video Sarah!!! Thank you for sharing about this experience and all the good information about the cruise. I always wanted to go to Antártica, my favorite animals are penguins too and it would be a dream, but I always have felt intimidated about the Drake passage I get super dizzy in boats, it’s good to know that you said it wasn’t that bad. I also wanted to ask you if you felt that you had to bring more luggage with you, I always travel with a 22l backpack, which I find very comfortable, and I know you are minimalist when it comes to packing as well, that’s why I was curious to know if you had to bring more due to the weather conditions there.
    Thanks so much for sharing this ❤️

      Thank you, Sara! We did end up buying one large suitcase to fit our extra warm gear, especially since a lot of the warm stuff is very puffy!

    It looks and sounds like you had a great time on your trip, Sarah! The photos and video footage are very much appreciated, though, it would have been nice to hear more about what you ate during your time in Argentina.... For me at least, I love being able to experience different cultures through their dishes and such. Nonetheless, I'm glad you and Jake enjoyed your time on the cruise 😊

    Hi Sarah, I am so glad you came and visit my country. Antarctica is wonderful!!!! as well as Ushuaia!!! Loves all the images you shared. Argentina can also offer other amazing places such as the Iguazu falls (highly recommended), Patagonia and Salta. And finding vegan dishes is a challenge here, I agree with you (I am vegan too). Im Buenos Aires you can definitely find many more options. Cheers from Buenos Aires!🥰

    How was internet connection on board? Like 50% of the time you have the connection? What percentage you would say? I am going to Antarctic on the same boat next month and would like to know the WiFi connection on board. Thank you in advance!

    I wonder how "eco-friendly" it is to travel to Antarctica. Seems to be a lot of "eco-tourism" happening that is actually pretty terrible for some endangered climates such as Antarctica.

    • @AbundantlyMinimal
      @AbundantlyMinimal  Год назад +2

      It would have been a lot more eco-friendly to not go on the trip at all. When talking about the eco-friendly aspect, I meant that the group we went with prioritized environmental concerns more than some of the others. Fortunately, all Antarctic cruises are required to agree to terms of IAATO, which has a lot of restrictions about where we could go and what we could do.
