Very cool! Thanks for sharing your adventures! Friends of mine are working at McMurdo Station right now. They've been sharing lots of photos and information, so I've learned more about Antarctica in the past few months than I learned in my first 50+ years!
Hi Sarah. Oh my gosh, this trip looks amazing! I was of the same belief as you regarding sightseeing in the Antarctic. And you got to see penguins in their natural habitat! ❤️❤️❤️ It's not picky at all to want to be catered for properly regarding your meals! But otherwise, what a wonderful experience to remember forever! x
What a wonderful adventure and fantastic experience for you both. I'm delighted that the trip went well and that you had an amazing time. With climate change threatening the ecosystems in Antartica, and reducing consumption being a valuable way for ordinary people to help fight climate change, I can only imagine that spending time in Antartica, surrounded by its beauty, has added further inspiration to your own relationship with minimalism and sustainable living. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful photos - that was a wonderful treat for the eyes.
Great video! My brother had a 6-month job there, as aircraft maintenance. The seals loved hanging out on the runways near the hangar doors. So friendly but huge!
I love this video Sarah!!! Thank you for sharing about this experience and all the good information about the cruise. I always wanted to go to Antártica, my favorite animals are penguins too and it would be a dream, but I always have felt intimidated about the Drake passage I get super dizzy in boats, it’s good to know that you said it wasn’t that bad. I also wanted to ask you if you felt that you had to bring more luggage with you, I always travel with a 22l backpack, which I find very comfortable, and I know you are minimalist when it comes to packing as well, that’s why I was curious to know if you had to bring more due to the weather conditions there. Thanks so much for sharing this ❤️
Your story is amazing. My sister-in-law, who was there as a biologist for her research, has similar pictures and experiences as you. I was not even aware it is available for tourism.
That is so cool she travels to these kind of places for research! There were several scientists on board who were collecting data and measuring things while we were there!
Wow Sarah this was interesting and amazing. We are so happy that Jake and you were able to take this trip. Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. RJ and I are nature lovers and it was fun to see all the different wildlife. Sending hugs ❤
It looks and sounds like you had a great time on your trip, Sarah! The photos and video footage are very much appreciated, though, it would have been nice to hear more about what you ate during your time in Argentina.... For me at least, I love being able to experience different cultures through their dishes and such. Nonetheless, I'm glad you and Jake enjoyed your time on the cruise 😊
Hi Sarah, I am so glad you came and visit my country. Antarctica is wonderful!!!! as well as Ushuaia!!! Loves all the images you shared. Argentina can also offer other amazing places such as the Iguazu falls (highly recommended), Patagonia and Salta. And finding vegan dishes is a challenge here, I agree with you (I am vegan too). Im Buenos Aires you can definitely find many more options. Cheers from Buenos Aires!🥰
Curious why you used both Antartica and Arctic Circle in the title of the video: do you know about FE? I'd love to see the Arctic wall, thank you for sharing your experience. Good to know about the veg food too :)
How was internet connection on board? Like 50% of the time you have the connection? What percentage you would say? I am going to Antarctic on the same boat next month and would like to know the WiFi connection on board. Thank you in advance!
Have so much fun! Honestly, the wifi was amazing considering how far away we were from civilization! We maintained enough connection for emails every day and some days I even had enough connection for Facetime or RUclips!
@@AbundantlyMinimalThank you so much for your reply! Needless to say, good internet connection is a huge plus I am so looking forward to this expedition!
I wonder how "eco-friendly" it is to travel to Antarctica. Seems to be a lot of "eco-tourism" happening that is actually pretty terrible for some endangered climates such as Antarctica.
It would have been a lot more eco-friendly to not go on the trip at all. When talking about the eco-friendly aspect, I meant that the group we went with prioritized environmental concerns more than some of the others. Fortunately, all Antarctic cruises are required to agree to terms of IAATO, which has a lot of restrictions about where we could go and what we could do.
It is my dream to see penguins in the nature. I am so happy for you that you did it.
I love that! We have similar penguin goals...there are definitely many penguins in the southern hemisphere!

Wow!! That's amazing, Lorrene!
I'm not done watching yet but I have to comment how CUTE those penguins are!
They are the CUTEST!!

Wow! Interesting. Never heard of such. :)
Looks like a stunning experience! Wow! Glad you were able to go and share with us
Thank you so much, Anja!

Thank you! I love this comment and you are definitely right!
This seems absolutely amazing! I had no clue this was even possible. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you so much, Susan! I had no idea until about 6 months ago!

Thank you, Sara! We did end up buying one large suitcase to fit our extra warm gear, especially since a lot of the warm stuff is very puffy!
Wow! What an amazing trip! Thanks for sharing your incredible photos!
It's my pleasure, Deanna! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing! Glad you had a great time!
Thank you, Lynne!

Hello, the video is great with loads of great info. Sorry if I missed you mentioning it, but what cruise operator ran this tour?

Woohoo! That's spectacular! 🎉🎉🎉
We're in Illinois too. I'd love to see another country or continent some day. I've never been out of the US.
Thank you so much! I hope you get the chance!

Argentina was so beautiful...I definitely need to come back again in the future and would love to check out those places you mentioned!
That view from your window.. Wow.
It was insane!

The title of the video has both Antarctica and the Antarctic Circle, which is where we went, not the Arctic Circle.
@@AbundantlyMinimal Now it does, thank you for the clarification
Wonderful pictures!
Thank you so much, Cynthia!
Did You see that pre diluvian city the one visited by Jhon Kerry in his trip overthere
Just got to the part of the polar plunge. What was the malfunction!?!?!? I can only imagine the worst case scenario 😅

Which month you went for crossing the Antarctic circle

Love the little penguins!
