So first check the bottom part of the lock (where the connections are) and only then decide if it could be fixed or requires a replacement

Well not sure about that... You should check first as the old one used to have some of the warning light at some other place so it may have a different type of wiring connector

Water was getting in the console and it destroyed the internals of the meter.

Nope.... Only yellow is there.... Why ns 160.... I would suggest you to have a look at the rtr 160 as well... Decide after riding both of the bikes.
