  • Moseley Bog in Birmingham. A small natural wood in the heart of Birmingham where Tolkien played as a young lad, the inspiration for his hobbits. This clip was to promote walking for health and the benefits of getting out in the countryside, exploring what's on your doorstep.

Unfortunately you have no idea what you are talking about. In order to protect the site FOREVER and FOR EVERYONE the "improvements " as you call it were needed. The boardwalk is necessary to prevent further erosion of the bronze age sauna and other specific sites in the bog. Why not allow access for all members of the community? It was a deep regret for Joy Fifer who saved this site from developers, that in the last years of her life she could not get into the bog. No trees were chopped down!!!

Unspoilt? it was. did anyone from the wildlife trust actually ask anyone who goes there about their so called improvements? If Tolkien walked through there now he would be horrified at the councils so called "improvements". hey council, why dont you chop down Sherwood forest as well, so we can have wheelchair access? I bet the people who have made the so called improvements have never actually been there. Tolkien would be turning in his grave. You cannot improve on nature.
