Well, Judgement Day and the Apocalypse are basically synonymous with the Bible. I don't think that's a coincidence. I think the end of the series will see the Celestials coming back, Apocalypse being revealed as another Son of Uranos, and Mutants being revealed as essentially an offshoot of the Eternals, through Eternals breeding with humans.
I definitely think we’ll see him after what was done to Arakko

We need a full issue of just Thanos vs Apocalypse first! I gotta have the age old question finally answered, is Apocalypse on Thanos level or not dammit. Then they can team up and save the day or whatever.
Hey Dave, I have a feeling Apocalypse will return too. I wonder if we will finally see an Apocalypse vs Thanos battle. Also, I have a real bad feeling about Mr. Sinister during and after this event. I also wonder if the Phoenix Force will return to Jean Grey. There is some foreshadowing about this in the beginning. This first issue was AMAZING and I can’t wait to see what happens.
All I know is that Druig made a huge huge HUGE mistake but attacking the mutants and even though the Avengers are caught in the middle, the relationship between the mutants and the Avengers will be at it’s all time worst in Marvel history.
An Apocalypse vs Thanos fight could go down as one of the greatest comic book fights in history, if done right that is. I really hope it happens. But I don’t want to see the Apocalypse from X of Swords, not using any of the vast powers at his disposal and being injured so easily all the time.
I want to see team buster Apocalypse from the 80’s and 90’s that would tank powerful attacks. The version that tamed The Hulk and stomped Loki by creatively using his body’s molecular manipulation powers. Or if we go with a more recent version, although I’m not sure if this was his 616 incarnation, the Apocalypse that was stomping multiple Thors at the same time in Secret Wars was great too.
They need to show his full might and prove he’s one of the most powerful beings on Earth in order to hang with Thanos. I’ve always considered them near the same power range, with Apocalypse slightly below but always having the potential to match Thanos if written correctly in the proper story. This could be that story! To have Marvel finally confirm Apocalypse can hang with cosmic powerhouses would be awesome.
I really hope the Phoenix Force is gonna return to Jean. They've been disrespecting Claremont's legacy for too long now.

They nerfed the Arrako mutants. The Great Council of Arrako have Omega level precog mutant Idyll, who would be more powerful than Destiny. Then there is Lactica the Knower who knows where everything is. Between the two of them, tge Arakko mutants should have been aware of the assault by Uranos. The Arrakko mutants are made to look incompetent compared to their Krakoa counterparts.
Exactly. It would be lazy writing if they kill off the Arakki just to use them as a plot device.
They’re not all dead. This was probably just a large number. But the previews for X-Men Red #7 say:
As the dust settles and the costs are counted, change is coming to Arakko - starting at the top in Al Ewing and Madibek Musabekov's X-MEN RED #7. After the catastrophic war with the Eternals, the Great Ring declares that Isca the Unbeaten is no longer fit for the Seat of Victory. But Isca's power is never to lose. If she won't step down…is there anyone on Arakko who can make her?
I'm enjoying this way more than expected !
Gillen did his homework and everything happens organically. Every character is quickly and well defined. There were a lot of celestial connections between the three factions, and Gillen seems to want to exploit the most of it.
I'm hyped. On a general note, Destiny of X seems well planned.
We're only a few months in and every serie has a lot to tell. I'm a happy X-men fan :)
Also I hope that Apocalypse makes his triumphant return to his throne.

I'm curious as to whether Uranos was able to kill Isca, the Eye thing that so easily vanquishes gods or all the members of the Council on Arakko. Also, we still haven't seen the hidden Night members of the Arakkii Council. I wonder if they'll finally make an appearance or have anything to do with this event. Definitely enjoyed this 1st issue of Judgment Day and have faith that Gillen will make this 1 of the best events we've witnessed in a while.
I dont think those were fulled power Gods but the littlest of g's, they probably arent going to beat Thor but i hate the writer.
Isca is on the cover of X-Men Red #7 fighting Storm and it’s set after AXE so it’s safe to say she survives this event

Moira’s villain turn is explained astutely here, honestly the best thing they’ve done with her, despite how rushed it was. At least she’s not stuck in a room.
I just dont get why people wouldnt get it, she was scared to be a 3D Printer for Destiny and got robbed of her life so Destiny can take over.
You are bound to want to atleast take your gifts back from the killmongers.

I’m loving everything about this event, but Imagine if Apocalypse came back and came to face to face with Thanos & Uranos, I’m I know it’s very fan fictiony but hey, I think it’s be cool. I’d also love to see Storm face to face with Thanos considering how many times has she courted Death?
Apocalypse has so many powers, kind of think the writers now of days for some reason don't show off how OP he really is.
WE NEED TO SEE APOCALYPSE vs THANOS!!!! THEY NEED TO FIGHT OR APOCALPYSE vs. URANOUS. WE NEED TO SEE APOCALYPSE, THANOS & URANOUS TOGETHER I. A SCENE.

I do not think all the arakkis were killed. I believe about half of them were murdered because the graveyard left by Uranos was not large enough for all 1 million of them.
Wonder if Hyperion is still an eternal all be it from another universe. Maybe he could serve as an ace in the hole for her old "gods".

I just read Judgment Day and I have to say it's an excellent read it touches on so many levels that I can relate to and after reading this book I hope the X-Men kick their ass

Moira hated her mutant power. That's why she turned villain. Building Krakoa means nothing if the goal was to eliminate them. She's crazy.
Especially when the lady who wanted you dead only used you to 3D print herself, Moira got scammed as Destiny never intended TO kill her.
Also Moira whole goal was to stop Nimrod but after getting robbed of all her life work... why even try to be good? The mutants aided and abided Destiny actively simping for her so... i say Moira is justifed.
First issue was amazing;
I got chills when I saw the "Population size" of Krakoa...never good for the mutants when a current population figure is presented in print
Does Professor X know what storm and magneto said about their own resurrection I hope they come back
No way they let mags and stormy stay dead.
X has his project black box for them.
They also have Wanda's magic lounge now, so they could just find Magneto and Storm and presumably any Arakki mutant that want to be resurrected there.
@@joluoto yeah I just said this to someone else. Plus Magneto died, not Storm. They can easily bring him back through the Waiting Room the same way they got back other mutants with no backup like Thunderbird.

Druig did say that an "External" foe will unite the Eternals..??.. Be awesome to see Apocalypse and Thanos in action in the same book/storyline

As shown in the past..... she will easily switch sides.
Moiras seemed to have one of three goals.
1. Being immortal which requires something like wolverine's blood and not getting hunted by sentinels in her old age.
2. Helping the Earth thrive, which may require extinguishing mutants to avoid the killer A.I.s from taking over.
3. Mutant survival at any cost, even the loss of their powers.
Mass mutant murder because the Quiet Council are mean, doesn't seem like a proper motivation for the now robot Moira.
Moira realizes she got conned bt Destiny as Destiny burned her TO eventually create the conditions to revive her as seen in Immortal Xmen #2 or #3
Justified.
I think it's clear also the God the avengers are gonna make is Miracle Man. There's been a big push for him in variant covers so I could see it happening

I agree that the Avengers seem to be set dressing, however the Phoenix could be a game changer. I’m not a fan of Echo being the host, but regardless the Phoenix is resurrection incarnate and a multiversal entity. Plus the Avengers can and should be more than this core team. I hope to see the Scarlet Witch since she is a major Avengers and X-men player. P.S. would the Arrako mutants have access to mutant heaven? We have no reason to believe otherwise…
And since Phoenix is the mother of Thor and basically the same for the mutants I hope something good comes outta of it.

They went through all that trouble to show that the Arakkii wouldn't want to use the resurrection protocol even if they had access to it, so I don't think any that died will be coming back and if they do they will be shunned and treated as cowards. To be fair, there was A LOT of Arakkii that were just never gonna get any screen time, so I think this is the X Office's way of trimming that down to a more manageable number.
Not sure why they went through all that Magneto stuff to put him on the Council though if he was just gonna die here. He said he wouldn't want to be resurrected, so maybe he isn't dead? Or maybe they want him out of the picture for a while? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Holy crap mags and storm just got rid of their backups
Which actually doesn’t make sense because of the Waiting Room, it’s able to allow Cerebro to get mutants without backups, hence how Thunderbird is back. They could easily bring Magneto and Storm back if needed by using the Waiting Room.
So I wonder... If this is Moira's last life, will they eventually kill her if she keeps coming for Krakoa?
Mr. Sinister has several clones of Moira tucked away. If he were to kill one of the clones, the timeline would be reset.

Also - despite reading and following as much as I can - do you have a vid that speaks to Moira's "story" to date. Seems like her character has gone full 180 and *******spoiler warning
*****I saw that she now is part robot / cyborg / technorganic? Not sure - but I could use some help filling in the gaps....I recall her arm getting chopped, then replacing with a cybernetic one...then the "reveal" in one of the wolverine issues, but I'm still really lost / confused on this character transformation...or is it not really her anymore???? Sorry, just confused and hoping you can help. So funny that we all came in rooting for Moira, but are now all likely bigger Destiny fans.

Smart ass aside, it annoying as it feels like the Xmen could be more good or bad but fans and writers want to keep it to what /they/ feel comfortable with... idk but that feels wrong.
I wonder and hope that at the end of this story the mutants start to become appreciated by the general human populace. We’ve seen it to a certain extant before like right after Fall of the Mutants with the X-men sacrificing their lives and being lauded as heroes and also X-Factor saving New York from Apocalypse and basically being heroes until they rejoined the X-men in the 90’s. But I hope this story maybe ends with the Mutants on top and smacking down the Eternals to save humanity and essentially becoming Earth’s best protectors. It would bring an interesting dynamic in their fight with Orchis.

I get the comment about seeing the Arakkii mutants as black, clearly A, Isca, Genesis, Death, etc are Egyptian but I think their society at large is technically a racial mix, either way most of them don’t have human color skin anyway. Also I think Uranos killed a high number of Arakkii mutants but we know many survive this event including Isca due to solicits for future issues.
That stuff is weird, you can see there some "malleable" aspects from different cultures but it is it own thing?
Also i swear going to end up at the level of BLACK with it "House" bad guys... so 🤢🤮

@@Subject_Keter I think because it’s a civilization that started with Apocalypse and Genesis way in the past it only made sense for it to be largely Egyptian based but culturally they are definitely their own thing. I think the current comics, most recently Legion of X and X-Men Red, have done a great deal of showing they aren’t collectively bad guys, but truly a society that just isn’t like ours or the one we’re familiar with, which doesn’t make them bad, just different. It even makes their earlier depictions make sense where they were characterized as violent and hostile…they were forced to be at war for many years, of course they’re on edge, their culture revolves around the situation they were forced into and this is the first peace they’ve known in a very long time.
@@aprilspencer73 true and I see that with the Arakkii mutants but I don’t think it’s hidden, some of their clothing reflects their origins, and I don’t think it’s handled badly. I think the writers have been fairly realistic in depicting an oppressed culture forced into a bad situation who now have peace for the first time and have to learn how to live with it, only for this incident with the Eternals to happen, another attack on their society where they are the victim and have to rise to the occasion.

It feels like Nightcrawler was written to be slightly more obnoxious by having him interrupt Destiny’s prediction the moment she’s about to say who’s gonna attack them. Him taking his time to warn The Great Ring was also weird, along with Magneto’s comments rehashing Mars’ Terraformation. It feels like whoever wrote this wrote the X-Men as more arrogant than they’ve been portrayed in their own issues.
I do like that the Avengers stop taking Cersei’s bs with not answering their questions
But their willingness to work with Ajak and Makkari raises some. Like, what about the massive Eternals that were clearly gonna kill millions of baseline humans too that y’all were assembling to beat back? The Eternals have always been playing Earth’s Heroes
Damn Avengers saved /most/ of the Multiverse compared to this hippy Eternals, Damn straight.
Also I think they need to make Mutants abit heartless so when the Eternals killing a human to raise a human is more impactful or something?
I agree that the X-men seem super arrogant, but to be fair they have been very arrogant in general since the Krakoa age started. Let’s not forget how in the beginning of the Krakoa age, man fans theorized that there was some mind control or something going on, and I think rightly so. Since then, some of our main X-men characters have returned to form, but not all.
@@darkur13 Reminds me of the time I got into a fight with my AP English teacher cuz the "Theme" i found in the book wasnt the state mandated theme so we argued about it.

My gosh, I want to read the rest!
But I have questions and theories.
Question #1 - Scarlet Witch was in Krakoa. Where is she?
Question #2 - Where is Isca the Unbeaten? Arakko ring is made of Omega Levels, so I want to know if Cable and Nightcrawler bought them time to regroup. Cuz I doubt they died.
Question #3 - Where can I read about Ajakk and Makkari capturing Sinister? Or did it happen off camera?
Question #4 - Where is Legion? Donatella me he is fighting the Unimind, cuz he has at least 100 personalities for this, so where is ther rest of him?
Question #5 - Empress Chandra is alive again, right? Is she in Krakoa or is she back with the Shi'ar? Cuz If she is in Krakoa, then Druig is attacking the Shi'ar Majestrix, which may cause an intergalactic incident (he also attacked, as you said, the regent of Sol, so talk about adding insult to injury, right?)
Theory #1 - Apocalypse returns bringing his kids and wife just as Karima predicted in X Deaths of Wolverine.
Theory #2 - I don't think we are done with the Children of the Vault. We might see them as Orchis resource, cuz they will be betrayed or at least feel betrayed when humanity discovers the Eternals truth.
Theory #3 - Judging by how the last KoX ended, I think Krakoa might get the help of Mercator, Jim Jaspers, Saturnyne (possibly) AND Jamie Braddock.
Theory #4 - Old Cable gave Magik something when he was brought back. I don't remember what it was, but he said she would know when to use it and it would be something very very very important in the future. We might see some Magik trick during this war, maybe.
I can understand the fast paced action angle, but to me it felt way to rushed. Some examples:
Moira apparently told Druig mutant secrets, but she wasn't really forthcoming, was she? Why would she tell the Eternals to kill the five instead of telling them to destroy the cerebro helmets? the five can be replaced by mutants with similar power sets or, you know, reality warpers who can do the job themselves. The suspension of disbelief is kind of impossible when the writer does not know the lore they're writing about.
another example is Uranos killing the Great Ring. Long time readers just KNOW that's either for cheap shock value or a dream/telepathic sequence. There's no way a full table of omega mutants, including a precog and one that CANNOT lose would fall to this wanna be Thanos.
X-men: Red showed to us that Isca's power can be weaponized by a third party, so Arakki didn't actually fall.
With that being said, I didn't hate the issue, I just read enough crossovers to know that this one was just ok. Valerio's art was great, as always.
On another note, Knight of X just confirmed Rachel 's bisexuality and she kissed Betsy! Something that has been teased for some time now can finally being confirmed on the page.
Honestly them trying to be more techinal causes alot of issues as seemingly any sane person could think of ways around it while the Writer is sticking to very select plotline.
Tbh i rather deal with the issues you said then the forced simping for Destiny, Selene and Sabertooth. I rather have the most crappy action verus watching people turn into friggin mary sues who am i appose to like cuz..... they literally drew moira to be hilter....?

I would of loved to see a friggin mini series about that whole battle taking it time.
Think hes busy trapped in some time stream shenanigans trying to save his son from .. himself.. with kang fitting in there somehow too.

Idk why but the way they act in that book (ironically brand is good imo) but they all weirdly out of place and it feels forced?
Also god reading the comments for Issue 3 actually launchec my phone away from all the headcannons and simp cannons firing off.

I actually did not enjoy this issue. Another mutant genocide? Geez. I know not everyone enjoyed krakoa but i enjoyed seeing mutants finally have some kind of peace. Sigh idk if it's worth following the story to see the mutants be killed off every two years

Real Talk, that whole idea is stupid and confusing but they still should have him on the Cradles and or SW safety net...
God i hate when the writers have the narrative stakes of people fighting for who pays the check.

Narrative stakes r kinda the way for ppl to be more interested and invested into the upcoming issues, to steady the sales in case ppl lost interests.

This is pathetic. The mutants have their own island and planet, but they don't have any defensive strategies or contingencies for invasion at all? Too busy sitting around on a beach playing banjos, I guess......
They have contingencies for invasion but in non of Moira's lives they never saw the Eternals as a problem, Professor was arguing that mutants had no beef with the Eternals when the attacks happened. However, I agree that internal politics have left them distracted

I can buy it, they are strong but He is basically a Primarch of Eterenals focused with using deadly ass weapons.
Makes more sense then Selene to me.
I have a hard time with it too, especially considering the entire Great Ring of Arrako is made up with Omega level mutants and all the mutants of Arrako pretty much presumably survived generations in a demon dimension. But we have 3 X-men Red tie ins to come so hopefully those shed some light.

I have some hesitation from this first issue as well, but let’s give it a chance. I do trust Kieran Gillian as a writer. He’s far more often than not a very talented writer.
