Can we get a link to the Bavarian gangster rap?
Bloody brilliant!
please! I need to know what song it is @@blizzardthewizardlizard
Tomscast babyyy
This was the most entertaining Cult of Cthulu scenario I've ever experienced. The way it went of the rails, Kirby going completely mad, and the cinematic ending couldn't be more enjoyable. Plus, you've turned me on to Bavarian Gansta Rap as well. Thank you so much for this. Everyone was absolutely fantastic.
the start of this episode was scarier than the cthulhu stuff
Fr
Big props to trott and mark for their RP
Definitely!
As a lifetime blue collar worker that was truly beyond the grasp of my comprehension
Definitely need an Office Space modern CoC
I adore the spooky stuff
Oooh the editing about 13 minutes in of Mark Hulmes' voice muted in the background as he screamed about the spiders. Chef's kiss.
It is now my headcanon that Ivan is a descendant of the German steak ribs hotel guy from one of the earlier Call of Cthulhu games Tom ran.
YES
Both show in cars in the last episode
My head canon was that it’s somehow straight up the same guy
I like to think Angela is a descendant of Maggie Vanderhold
When Trott said "Kirbys going to the Kitchen....Kirbys looking for a knife" i honestly got chills lol. Trott was amazing in this series. Please be sure to get him back again if he would like.
Mystery Quest?
Spider Eating?
Sanity Loss?
Hell yeah.
Well that was the most dramatic and horrifying conclusion yet, good gods. Thank you Tom and all!
A truly horrifying and relatable intro this week. Good work as always, Tom!
Everyone's fear, a mundane office job
I like how the taxi driver evolved by them using a character sheet designed for a sheriff lol.
the horrifying scene of the stabbing and then just the sheer surrealism of *Ivan* showing up with the bavarian gangster rap is phenomenal
Ivan is 100% a direct descendent of Herman from the old yogsquest call of cthulhu
YESS
Holy Shit that makes WAY TOO MUCH SENSE
Herman and his bloodline are the Yogsquest/Mystery Quest version of the Speedwagon foundation
I love that Lewi’s safety priorities are to buckle his seatbelt but shoot the driver of the car….
Tbf he probably would’ve died before killing all the spiders if he didn’t
This was a really fun scenario, much different vibe to have somewhat "disposable" characters in Call instead of Maggie and Perry who we love so much. It does track that Lyds was the only one to live (sometimes dead is better?) but great work from everybody sometimes making deliberately bad choices to stay in character. Really great stuff
It all wrapped up and tied up very well at the end
The way Tom ran the Contact Ghoul spell was so so so good. Excellent way of turning the mere existence of ghouls into a horror all of its own.
Congrats on such stellar gameplay for so many adventures! Here's to many more!
As someone who actually listens to Bavarian "gangster" rap, thank you for the mention of our underappreciated subgenre!
I still cannot believe this was real.
What was the song used in this , i need it 😂
Kirby, holy shit. Just imagining him kneeling there with Blank Space playing in his headphones.... What an absolute banger of a game, this was so so good.
Blood covered face, kitchen knife in hand, breath blowing his hair from behind, Taylor Swift blaring
The Kirby scene in the beginning sounds like it's out of a Tarantino movie with the Taylor Swift blaring.
Another amazing campaign. Wasn't sure how a present-day Cthulhu adventure would work, but it turned out perfectly. Fantastic DM'ing and roleplaying from the players.
I love Lewis’ sign off. “Friends with the Diggy Diggy Hole man”
“Friend’s with the diggy diggy hole man” *combusts in car*
13:39 THIS EFFECT WAS SO GOOD
Trott going Johnny Fiasco again.
And after this Ivan has to be a recurring character
I'm a bit disappointed Robin wasn't secretly a plant. Some of the first episode editing and Tom not explicitly telling Lewis "you remember nothing" like he did for everyone else had me suspicious throughout the entire series.
Trott bringing the trademark Hat Films energy with murder and demonic rituals... *chef's kiss*
I met up with a lactose intolerant friend of mine. And she’s been in the bathroom for almost an hour now. Luckily we don’t have to get to our train for another hour. But thanks for posting. I can watch this as I wait for her. She had 2 straight cups of milk at the café we were at. Lactose intolerant people are actually insane.
Edit:
Don’t worry. We made the train. Her bowels have settled. For now…
Is she having a toilet disaster, or is she on a... mystery quest?!
@@nicksteele9436she was. She was trying to figure out if the pain was a need to poop or period cramps. But she says she’s good now.
@@nicksteele9436 Beat me to it arrgg
@@MoRaGeKi exactly what I wanted to do as well...
Your friend doesn't have an intolerance, she's a dairy cultist and was making a horrible sacrifice that you want nothing to do with
Lewis' roleplaying was absolutely spectacular; highlight of the campaign throughout. Everyone involved was great. Lydia's energy was occassionally a bit discordant to the narrative (e.g. laughing at Trott's "stabbing" motion) but it could be justified by the ending-scene dream.
Never watched High Rollers before but I feel this is probably the best RPG the Yogs have ever done. Tom is a fantastic GM/Keeper.
Mark H is a very good GM but has a very different style to Tom!
Its criminal that mystery quest doesnt have more subs its honestly my favourite channel rn
"Respect Ivan, Ivan's a bad ass." Feels good. Not everyday I hear my name on a video lol.
Tom's scary voice during the ritual was *absolutely perfect* for the moment. I loooooved the ending of this. One of the most fun things they've done so far!
These Mystery Quest Videos are something I really look forward to every week, genuinely loving all the vids!
Long time lurker of all things yogs (especially been obsessed with this new channel) but this series finally convinced me to join the members group, I absolutely adore modern day call of cthulhu campaigns and the different energy each member brought to the game was a pure joy to watch, and of course the fabulous Tom spearheading every adventure expertly, love everything you guys do! Keep going at it!
Kirby's absolute turn was amazing, and Robin's "Why? Just tell me why." was such an interesting way to play that confrontation.
Legit spent the last three minutes refreshing the page.
Really enjoying all the Myster Quest campaigns but this is a stand out favorite for me so far. Great scenario, GMing, cast, characters and editing (bavarian gangsta rap ftw!). All round awesome.
I love the way Tom describes the ghouls, just like the first CoC game he did on the channel with Lydia and Simon, the canine features always give my goosebumps. Amazing how everything went south so fast once they entered the house, I was not expecting so many of them to die. I guess the "final woman" ending they were joking about came true. I am curious about who killed Kirby though, since he was cremated "very fast" I am guessing he still had a lot of spiders in him.
And there was another murderer who died mysteriously soon after being incarcerated, in 1965... Funny coincidence that.
In another life, in a galaxy far far away, Ivan could have been a moisture farmer running a hyper rickshaw.
Really enjoyed this one! Narratively very interesting! Putting the clues of a passed event together and then them unknowingly returning to something they previously only barely escape was amazing, very gripping story wise. Also amazing performances
OMG LYDIA! I WAS THINKING THAT TOO! I WAS LIKE HMM ANGEL, RILEY? must be a buffy fan
Buffy fans unite 🙏🏻
Do you want to live deliciously? Great reference
One of the best, pure insanity literally.
I hoped we would see the gang take on the final showdown at the house, but I understand why it was easier to end it with this.
This episode had one of the most epic endings yet!
A great reminder from Lewis to always put your seatbelt on lol
This was the best Call of Cthulu you've done yet imo
"Friend of the Diggy Diggy Hole Man" What a title to put on your resume, amazing. This campaign was really good. Felt short, but that's only because it was so entertaining, and they really set the mood throughout the 5 episodes. Damn, can't wait for the next one.
This was not how I was expecting this episode to go. Really interesting to think of all the different ways that this could have ended and robin just deciding his jig was up and detonating himself.
Another awesome campaign. Can't wait for next Saturday to see what's next
Honestly, such a great campaign. Also, Tom is so good at being a keeper. I know he usually says he "isn't the best at setting the scene", but I can always picture the scene very well due to descriptions and vibe. Characters are all played well as well! Loved it to bits, thank you all so much!
Has anyone managed to track down the 'Bavarian gangster rap'?
Replying to this just in case someone finds it
@@AceArata please post back here as well tnx :)
Lyds coming in with that Buffy fact made me feel so old
Absolutely legendary performance from trott with the insanity and the ritual - which was also played so well by tom
Amazing. Best so far! Tom’s a really mentally agile DM and the group have great chemistry and banter. You should try a Warhammer Fantasy Role play one shot. Grim dark Fantasy but with great gallows humour.
Oooh that was just as satisfying of an ending as I'd hoped, with more questions than answers and utterly unpredictable actions. Call of Cthulhu has definitely been a real highlight of the games on this channel so far. Keep it up Tom, can't wait to see what's up next!
A great and shocking ending to this tale.. and brings back memorys of your older C&C adventures for games night many years ago.... many thanks for making my Saturday night a pleasure...
Hey Mystery Quest editor, in case you didn’t know, you are absolutely killing it!
Loved how dark this series got, would certainly enjoy more of that!
*clears throat* WELL ACTUALLY, Riley first became Buffy's boyfriend in season 4, soooo /s
Lydia being a Buffy fan has brought me joy.
Every German we've met in these Call of Cthulhu games has been a badass, no? (Herman, P-Flax's Doctor Otto)
Lewis' character went out like a badass!! Massive props for such a thematic sendoff.
Loved the addition of the Epilogues: would love to have this be the case for other Mystery Quests going forwards.
Absolutely fantastic adventure. Loved the ramping spookiness -- it was absolute murder on the sanity front!!!
Special mention to creepiest moment -- the Ghoul being summoned. *shudders* I was hoping Kirby would end up some sort of cultist for the ghouls, healed of his spiders, but instead he ended horribly!
Wasn't sure at first about modern Call of Cthulhu, but I was won over almost straightaway. Brilliant work all around!!!!!!
Now excuse me while I hop over and obsessively watch the Forget-Me-Not table chat....
Can’t get over how great this one was! I’ve been sharing with all I know. Such an awesome set of choices, acting, “DMing” and writing, so good! Love how horrific and spooky it is :D
Tom just intros my normal day. What is my life to you? A MYSTERY QUEST!?
My goodness what a finale!! Those epilogues were a wonderful little cherry on top of an extraordinarily satisfying sundae of a final chapter, love where it went, everyone absolutely smashed it.
Never have i wanted to be a member more than for the table chat over this game!
Bravo!!
Long live the Bavarian gangsta rap!
Probably my favorite scenario so far. Well played, well gm'ed, just overall stellar performance by everyone
Fantastic episode as always. And for anyone wondering, this is exactly the music we hear here in munich.
genuinely, this has been my favourite mystery quest thus far! blessings to tom and the players, and to the editors for their great work
I think this was the creepiest one yet great series
3 or 4 time rewatching this series
I love how unhinged Lewis is in all these
She can't keep getting away with this! Thanks everyone!
gotta say Tom, this was the scariest intro to a Mystery Quest by far!! Office work!!!! We hates it forever!!! ( love the roleplaying adventures though, :) )
My favorite series so far. The story was incredible
I'm really glad the assistant office manager intro didn't run longer, I was starting to shake.
This campaign was really good, very balanced crew. Now we just need a group thats pure chaos like ross or tom bates
Ross and Tom Bates?
@@jcskyknight2222 They're members of the larger Yogscast network. Ross Hornby is apart of Hat Films and Tom Bates is an editor for the Yogscast and creator of Nigel and Marmalade, he was also in some of the earlier Mystery Quests, i think even the first Call of Cthulu they played.
As a side note its nice to see that this channel has found an audience that isn't familiar with the Yogscast
@@whosadaman8326 Oh sorry I wasn’t clear. You said “or”, I’m saying “and”.
Why have one when you can have both :D
Haha this was a great series, such a dramatic finale! People really went with the story, very entertaining!
what a sick one shot. This was fantastic
its so funny that lyds was actually the final girl when they were all joking about it
Super spooky, also kinda fun to see a "bad ending" in a rpg, usually things go wrong but there is some semblance of "winning", but this was about as CoC as it gets, everyone either dies, goes insane, or becomes the villian.
This might be my favorite yet, so many things about the ending were absolutely perfect! I also just love the concept of the investigators having memory loss from the start, it's a great concept for a spooky investigation, and I think it panned out perfectly.
I LOVED this episode and this series! Trott!!!
This was so freaking good. I was on the edge of my seat, and my fav character is def Ivan. He was such a highlight hahaha😂💜
i like how the cops in town just let them leave for revenge lol
I would love a continuation of this.
Fantastic as ever guys, the ending was classic CoC just an absolute chef's kiss
One of the best TTRPG games I’ve watched, was honestly so excited for each episode. Very cinematic and excellent RP from everyone. Very well done Tom
i hope we get a mystery quest with all of hat films at some point, i can only imagine the chaos that would come from that
Loved Lewis' and Trott's Rp so good
Man, I've let Mystery Quests episodes build up for a while so I could binge them and it was worth it, both all the Call of Cthulhu scenarios but also Mork Borg, Mothership and Honey Heist. You're a fantastic GM, Tom, and all the players that have been on so far have been a treat. I look forward to what comes next already. It's gonna feel like a long week now, though...
The chaos at the end was so good! Collaborative storytelling at its finest!
I truly love these campaign so much!! Every single one on this channel! Thank you Tom and all his visitors for all the great entertainment!
these are some of the best youtube videos ive ever seen
Big applause! Loved this campaign! This team was soooo good!
This was incredible, so dramatic, tense and horrifying! Also really impressed with how cinematic all the dramatic moments in this felt, amazing descriptions and really fun contributions from everyone at the table!
I've loved all the content so far, but this is the best series by far
This was absolutely fantastic! Loved it so much!!
Love this whole crew. Please more of these people
Lydia is great. Always fun.
Soooooo amazing! What a blast this series was! Thanks Tom and team for your awesome work.
This series was superb. I think your best cthulhu roleplay by far and easily top tier cthulhu content on this platform.
hell yeah lydia! ANGEL is my favorite tv show (it's a buffy spin-off, it counts.)
Absolutely fantastic . Brilliantly DM'd . Brilliantly played.
These mystery quests are always incredible, thanks so much for the great content and super stoked for the next series!
Lovely. Pure story goodness! Cheers!
Loved this series, probably the best one yet!
Wow...just wow! Was this the best mystery quest so far? Maybe. Awesome Keeper'ing as ever from Tom and all the players were great as well. Thanks so much guys
Amazing series, the best yet!
Amazing series as always big love hope this continues forever
