I love that you keep it realistic by showing you don't need expensive lures to catch fish. "New to fishing folks" need to know this. As they learn techniques and practice they will catch more fish, not by buying the most expensive lures out there.
@RealisticFishing yes, about a week ago, a local wal mart had buggy with several clearance baits. 6 th provoke jerk baits and swim baits and Berkeley soft plastics.
Alex, I love how you keep it reel. You have some good Walmarts by You. Here in Ocala, the Walmarts rarely discount lures. P.S. loved the BB promo. Good to see him up and around.
Several times, I've bought older lure collections that were mixed with more modern ones. I put the old lures in a small framed box from Hobby Lobby that I've painted and lined with felt and sell them. I generally make about twice what I paid for everything and put the newer lures in my tackle box.
Super great deals from academy!! Those were some really great lures!! Love finding fishing lures on sale. Thank you for always keeping it realistic Alex 😊
Oh how I wish we had an Academy here! We don't have one where I live. Our Walmart has very little fishing stuff and the NEVER have clearance due to not really having much fishing merchandise to begin with. You did great with your purchase! One day....maybe I will pass by an Academy and get some good cheap lures myself. Keep it realistic Alex!
Just ran across your videos a couple days ago and watching ever since Great stuff man it's funny as heck because half the stuff you're talking about and doing been there done that myself including catching the branch lol keep them coming 👍
The MAJORITY of the "latest, greatest, gotta' have" lures that come out...CATCH fishermen NOT fish... Thanks for your FISHING wisdom...tight lines, God bless everybody.
Always appreciate a good sale, but once I started making my own baits/lures I haven't looked back. Only lures I've bought since then have been ones I can't make on my own. The start-up cost is a bit high, but when you get past that you're looking at ~$60 for a gallon of plastisol. That gallon can make hundreds of baits. Heck, this past weekend I made around 30 5" swimbaits with less than 3 cups of plastic (+ some grubs and flukes).
With prices the way they are, I pretty much stock up when sales are running from Black Friday through New Year’s-plus those websites offer free shipping on larger orders. If I like a color of Zoom swimming fluke jr, then I buy 10 packs at a discounted price rather than 10 throughout the year at regular cost. If I know I’m going to get another rod or reel, I either get it then or during BPS’s yearly rod/reel trade in. Simple planning can save tons. As for soft plastics, I’m mainly a Zman kinda guy-one pack can last incredibly long. Same for the Nikko lures for river fishing. Also, I like to use a naked buzzbait to “use up” swim baits that I’m not too big on-better to finish them on the buzz rather than trashing them. As for soft plastic colors-it’s mainly a confidence thing so I give the ones I don’t like to my kids and they do great with it!
I'm in Connecticut and I wish we had Academy outdoors, tou always find great deals on lures and it makes me envious of those that get to shop there! Thanks for another great video and for always keeping it realistic!
That is an amazing haul of goodies my friend and I’m absolutely a budget Lure guy and think the Battle Beetle would be a great Lure. Stay safe Alex and good luck.
great realistic video Alex. I got a mitchell esprit rod and reel combo for free yesterday at a yard sale, still cant believe it, i love great deals. KIR
I'm always bassin' on a budget. I turn my nose up at expensive lures/baits. I've caught just as many fish on a $2 Ozark Trail crankbait as I have on a $9 Yozuri. Keep it Realistic!
Sup Alex, what a haul, incredible prices... I've used the lunker hunky popper and worked great, lost it in a tree 🫤. Absolutely nothing in RI.. tyvm tc 🎣
I’m 56 and still use my grandfather’s made in France Mitchell 300 reel to this day. It is built like a tank and works perfectly. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I will never switch to something else.
I watched a couple of kids catching small fishes on a cheap pre-tied float rig fixed to the end of a freakin' tree branch. You don't need expensive stuff to have fun. (They'd hook one like every half a minute.)
@ 1:05, hell, I can’t break the 4lb Omni-flex by hand. Best cheap $1.50 spool of line out there. It was $1 at Wally World during Covid being the only line still on the shelf. I had no choice but to buy it, haven’t been disappointed 🤷♂️
All great picks besides the lunkerjunk lures. That being said, you gotta try them before you can disregard them. From my experience, 1 out of 5 actually work as intended.
Nice Alex nice, you're so lucky,we don't have a academy here, we have a Walmart 10 min away and they suck for fishing supplies, we have to go to a Walmart in another state for deals, or we need something quick we have a Cabela's 20 min away, be safe
September 1 is the start of the real fishing season to me. Zebco Omniflex is good line been using it since it was a dollar a spool at Walmart. Does have some coil but I take the label off and soak in cold water 3 days before I spool it.
Cant wait for you to use that beetle lure to try and catch something.! Going to try and see what i can get in the morning at Paris Landing if nothing else get in some swimming with the dogs. I hope everything is getting better for you and the family. Almost at the 10,000 mark
Same goes for line too. Ive caught just as many, and just as equally sized bass on $2.84 12 lb test Zebco Omniflex mono as i have the other, needlessly expensive brands ive used in the past.
You're preaching to the choir in my case. I make my own soft-plastic baits and if or when I do buy baits, I generally buy them cheap off of the Temu site.
Most of my lures and baits are the cheaper versions. I think the most I've spent on 1 lure was a choppo and I bought them both on sale. I still have caught hundreds of bass this year. Yum, Zoom, Strike king and ozark trail(walmart) and bass pro versions of lures are budget friendly.
Love how u guys in the U.S can somple buy your fishing stuff at your Walmarts. Our Walmarts here are a joke!!!Its sad...I literally never seen a baitcaster sell in our wallmarts...You guys have a fishing isle,we have a 8'×8' fishing shelf
So practical and so true, buuuut. There's nothing like throwing that giant Whopper plopper watching a hog smash it. You don't need it but there's something to be said about cool lures and catching fish on them I'm also addicted to that other than just catching fish.
Lures are getting crazy expensive. If the fish is going to bite, it's going to bite. Always smarter to buy lures on sale, or clearance. I have a ton of googans soft plastics I bought for a buck each from a liquidation warehouse.
I always laugh when i go fishing with my buddy and catch all the fish with my dollar store lures while he gets skunked with his expensive Cabela's lures. I've never paid more than $5 for a lure and I never will.
I love that you keep it realistic by showing you don't need expensive lures to catch fish. "New to fishing folks" need to know this. As they learn techniques and practice they will catch more fish, not by buying the most expensive lures out there.
They all want to be like RUclips rock stars. They'll go broke 😳
Too true. Same for rods, reels, and line. For the average weekend warrior, you do not need to spend a ton to catch fish and have a good time.
Getting to be that time of year. Clearance fishing stuff starts showing up.
Its all in the timing!
@RealisticFishing yes, about a week ago, a local wal mart had buggy with several clearance baits. 6 th provoke jerk baits and swim baits and Berkeley soft plastics.

P.S. loved the BB promo. Good to see him up and around.
Once I too pulled in a big branch using 6# Stren original, not only I got my lure back but 4 more also 😂. Inexpensive lures are grossly underrated.
Who wants to pay as much as they're trying to charge lately? Good sales for the win
Everything is SO expensive! 🥉
Several times, I've bought older lure collections that were mixed with more modern ones. I put the old lures in a small framed box from Hobby Lobby that I've painted and lined with felt and sell them. I generally make about twice what I paid for everything and put the newer lures in my tackle box.
That Sufix line and the floater is a damn steal!!!!
Super great deals from academy!! Those were some really great lures!! Love finding fishing lures on sale. Thank you for always keeping it realistic Alex 😊
That we craw is killer on the river, I’ve been throwin it pass few fishing floats & caught multiple smallmouth on it .
I used sufix lines on different reels. Always worked great
I hope I'm the first to congratulate you on hitting 100,000 RUclips Subscribers. 🎉
It was a long time coming. Keep it Realistic!!!
Thanks!
Been buying lures like that for many years now. And I do catch fish with them. Just like you Thanks for keeping it real
Oh how I wish we had an Academy here! We don't have one where I live. Nice haul, Alex! Keeping it Realistic in Oklahoma
Great pick ups my brother! I went shopping today myself and found a few things! Always good to find some deals. Thanks for keeping it realistic!!
Great haul from Academy. I wish they had one in my area. But I still purchase most of my stuff from WalleyWorld. Thanks for the cool video. KiR!!!
Just ran across your videos a couple days ago and watching ever since Great stuff man it's funny as heck because half the stuff you're talking about and doing been there done that myself including catching the branch lol keep them coming 👍

When the going get's tough, the tough go shopping! Heck Yea! That Suffix 832 Braid is my absolute favorite.
Congrats on the 100K Subs!! Great video!
Sup Alex always enjoying you fish videos keep it realistic
Nice haul. I see a lot of people swear on that Suffix 832. I may have to see if I can find that deal at my store. Great video Alex.
@joebuck66 if you have an Ollie's near you. You can find Sufix braided line $7.99 and Sufix Siege monofilament line for $5.99.
That's some nice finds Alex. God bless buddy.
Oh hell yeah!! Love the deal videos!! Just so you know what's out there.... if you're patient enough for the deals!
The colors on that Pop-R look great. Man you had another great haul, Alex.

I'm in Connecticut and I wish we had Academy outdoors, tou always find great deals on lures and it makes me envious of those that get to shop there! Thanks for another great video and for always keeping it realistic!
@bassing_with_Bart you can shop their website!
That is an amazing haul of goodies my friend and I’m absolutely a budget Lure guy and think the Battle Beetle would be a great Lure. Stay safe Alex and good luck.
Everything you’re saying is true! Great advice for all.
Nice “catch” Alex! You got some great deals! Can’t wait to see you try that crazy beetle!
Nice Deals Alex!
Double score on the Suffix and Rapala. 👍
great realistic video Alex. I got a mitchell esprit rod and reel combo for free yesterday at a yard sale, still cant believe it, i love great deals. KIR

Amazing deal on those Big Bite Baits!!!! They look really really good 👍 👏
I've bought cheap Halloween critters at the dollar store to rig on jigs! why not!
Nice haul Alex!
Sup Alex, what a haul, incredible prices... I've used the lunker hunky popper and worked great, lost it in a tree 🫤. Absolutely nothing in RI.. tyvm tc 🎣
Good video Alex 🤛 nice batch of lures
If they are hungry, they will bite old Frayed shoestring, or different colors of twine.
Sell them and see who is interested 👍
@RealisticFishing 😆 I need Catchy name.. lol..
Love the big bite baits haul. They make great soft plastics.
I’m 56 and still use my grandfather’s made in France Mitchell 300 reel to this day. It is built like a tank and works perfectly. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I will never switch to something else.
Man you crushed it with some great prices ! Wow
Good deals you got, hopefully you can get some good fish with them. 👍
It's supposed to rain here in Fort Worth too, but so far it's been delayed. Ponds and lakes over here sure do need it though.
Looks like some great lures my friend Alex 🙏❤️
Excellent score!

People definitely sleep on those big bite baits, I've been throwing them for years now

Great prices for sure!
Damnit man! Academy NEVER has sales like that around here. Seems like Tennessee has some definite advantages.
I’ve noticed your thumbnails looking a lot different….they are better man good job 😊 hope you been well
Thanks, been working on em a little lately
It's raining pretty good here in the 'Boro too
Finally!
Good deals Alex, I never find anything at Academy on sale.
Cant wait for you to use that beetle lure to try and catch something.! Going to try and see what i can get in the morning at Paris Landing if nothing else get in some swimming with the dogs. I hope everything is getting better for you and the family. Almost at the 10,000 mark

Yeah people that pay retail are nuts
Very nice discounted finds! I'm interested if you catch anything on the beetle.
KIR!

Great Haul. Next best thing to do when it rains is go shopping. Just ask any wife.
Another good place to buy lures and plastics for cheap is Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.
greaat!!!!! lure find I would like to see the bettle catch somthing.
So practical and so true, buuuut. There's nothing like throwing that giant Whopper plopper watching a hog smash it. You don't need it but there's something to be said about cool lures and catching fish on them I'm also addicted to that other than just catching fish.
Lol here in Ontario Big Bites go for 6/7$ each
Looks what I caught salmon fishing yesterday lol.
Also, I wish we had Academy up here in the PNW.
👍🏻😎 KIR!🍻
KIR 🍺
Fantastic deals!!!! KIR
Dang-it... I wanted to see how the Battle Beatle did... Aw well... 🎣
I agree completely, but i got a cheap spinnerbait and the damn thing didnt spin
I'm still using up baits from 2018. They're too big for the 3" bluegills around here.
Have you ever tried a spybait? I just caught my pb bass on one !
I tried a few times a while ago, never got a bite... Maybe I should try again
@@RealisticFishing maybe so! That’d be cool 😎!
Rapala Original F9 is nearly $30 in England £15.49
My Walmart doesn’t stock big bite baits. I need to move obviously.
You made quite the haul at the store.
Need to run to AS real quick !
Killer deals! Dang

I've never seen or heard of briozene or whatever u called it, what even is that stuff?
Bryozoans are tiny, filter-feeding invertebrates. They create colonies that can be mossy, branching, or round and jellylike.
I always laugh when i go fishing with my buddy and catch all the fish with my dollar store lures while he gets skunked with his expensive Cabela's lures. I've never paid more than $5 for a lure and I never will.
Thought we might get a cameo from Bro-Manson
He is waiting for me to hit 100K
make that Battle Beetle o-fish-al!
We need an academy in new jersey
Great deals
my academy never ever has fishing clearance items 😭
I want to watch u fish those hard baits...I've only seen u fish soft plastics
