I like to rescue tree frog tadpoles every summer they are in puddles I just feed them algae and fish food I get hundreds of tadpoles I love rescuing them
I just started raising tadpoles after I discovered a bunch of eggs in an old swimming pool that I am reopening. It's been a lot of trial and error for me, but I've learned a lot from my experiences thus far. This video will be a huge help as several of my little guys have started growing legs. 😁
Even if you do everything right, sometimes they just don't make it as the mortality rate is naturally pretty high in the wild. I just didn't explain that in the video, but it is nothing that I did or that Houston frogs did, it just happens sometimes. The other two are doing great though, and then I got two more from them later, which are also doing good!
@@CatAleah Thank you for your reply. I was just curious. I've only been watching your channel for a couple of months (Love it) but I've binge watched almost ALL of your videos. Keep up the good work!
You take nice videos young lady. Well informed and the style is nice - many youtubers could learn from you. Two laughing points for me were, one, distilled water and, two, calcium sprinkled flies! These frogs are living the high life! I can imagaine a cartoon comprised of one of your frogs leaving the perfect environment of your habitat and goes to the real world. He stumbles across many obstacles on his journey as he tries to overcome life in the "jungle." He meets a new friend that shows him the ropes of life in the "real world" but still has a hard time eating flies with his calcium fix and can't manage to mix his cocktails in swamp water. Oh how he longs for distilled! lol. In the end, he just cant overcome his upbringing and manages to convince his friend to go back to his hometown. The two set out on a harrowing journey in hopes to make it back to Froggy Paradise. I'm writing the screenplay now! lol.
Great set up. I’ve raised green tree frog tads from just spinach and a little protein eg yolk. The entire clutch developed. One of them morphed in 30 days !
I just ordered my first tadpoles from Houston frogs, I watched your video I have always wanted frogs and I didn't know how to raise them from tadpoles and so its awesome it comes in a kit, I lovve your channel thanks for making your videos!!:)
When the tadpoles became tiny frogs, what did you give them for eating? Im asking this because I can't find anything able to be eaten by them, because of the size. I'm going to rescue some tadpoles that ended in a puddle that is getting dried, so if you can help me, it would be great and very appreciated ✌
Thanks. This is helpful. I rescued some eggs from a puddle outside my house that would have disappeared way too soon for them to grow. I’ve got hundreds of tiny tadpoles about 3mm long in a bucket. The eggs were only laid two nights ago (I had no idea they would hatch so soon). I don’t know if I’ll be able to grow them until they get legs... time will tell. I might just take them down to a dam about 100 m from my house when it becomes too much. I think they are Salmon-striped Frog or similar. I should have taken a photo of them in the night. 🐸
Hey, I appreciate the video. I friend of mine loves frogs. I knew some basic about them but after watching this video I realized I didn’t know anything about tadpoles other than they become frogs. I thought their tails fell off. It’s amazing they get absorbed into their body and become a source of nutrition. I also didn’t know some are cannibalistic. I thought they ate like bacteria and didn’t have the ability to eat their own. I enjoyed the whole video. I had a little frogs and two turtles when I was a little kid. I ended up letting them go in a lake. I lost interest and the cleaning of the tank become too much of a chore for me. This video definitely renewed my interest in them
Today I just rescued some green tree frog tadpoles from our family's pot stacked fountain (you know those waterfall mini fountain you put outside for decor and aesthetic) I put them in a 29 gallon filled halfway up with clear room temp rain water that was the same temp as the water they were in at the fountain water pocket that was drying up I've put them in a 29 g as loon I mentioned earlier that has a light layer of white gravel two half submerged cabe hideouts with a stick and some water plants and I've been feeding them pond pellets that you feed amphibians and fish it contains calcium vitamin b, c and a and contains proteins digestive minerals and carbs oh and I would say that there are about 19 or 26 of them in a minimum of 15 gallons of water but dont be shocked they are the same size of a grain of rice still once they get legs I will raise the water level slowly and I think I will put brick chunks under the caves so they stay half submerged for the frogs to stay on land when they get older and once they get older I will be putting them in a 40 gallon tank with a water vapor machine that slowly releases small amounts of water vapor at a time to estimate humidity temps and I wanted to ask if what I'm doing so far is okay and give me some advice if not thx
I have gold colour frog or banana frog as we called it , she lays eggs in my bucket that I used to fill in rain water then she came and lays eggs every months as I noticed right now , thank you for infos
grown separately because they are cannibalistic... Laughs at my tadpole pond with 200+ tadpoles. "Yes I feed them lettuce so they don't eat themselves"
Question: Can they live if you use the same water you find them in? Because the water I found them in was a greenish colour, So will they live? Or do the need rain water.
Shark To Sock / EEE it’s best to use half of their water they were found in and half rainwater to make sure the water is clean but still make them feel at home 😊
CatAleah: "They do need to kept separately, as they are cannibalistic."
Me: *"It's a frog eat frog world out there."*
😂😂😂

This was such a helpful video! I have raised dart frogs before, but not from tadpoles. Id love to try this :D
You definitely should!! :) try Houston frogs kits! Thanks so much for watching!
I love that rainforest setup at 12:22 I know many frogs breed in bromiliads in South America
Isnt it gorgeous?! Houston frogs is so good at making tanks 😍
You started out with 3...what happened?

@@CatAleah but these aren't from the wild, in captivity its very rare to lose any tad that is being care for correctly.
FrogRoom That is not true.
